Love that started with flames but ended as dust

I've heard people say that this was being compared to yanxi palace a lot because it was airing around the same timing. DON'T COMPARE shows because each show is different from each other. When i first saw the story for the show i thought that it was gonna be the normal thing: concubines fighting each other for love , killing each other, manipulating each other. But NO, i was wrong. This show left a quite deep impression on me. No matter how much Ruyi tried to stay away from the palace schemes, it just kept coming to her. After she became empress , things just became worst. Hongli had started to lose his trust in her because of of all the schemes. Ruyi had gotten so mad at Hongli that she cut her hair to signify that their relationship had ended. I was happy tgat she did it. She was fed up of being his empress. But don't worry, the evildoer consort ling got her karma in the end. The ending of this show was appropriate and i enjoyed it.


Whenever i try to rewatch this show, i just can't watch the first few episodes over again. It really pains. I usually start watching from the part where she bacame empress.

I must say that the costumes and set were flawless especially the ceremony for when she become empress, it made me wish to be there and witness it.

Anyways, Give this show a try, you wont regret it.

Plot twists had me wawwed!!!!!

I dicovered this show last year and i don't regret it.

Acting. 9.0
The way every character acted, you could tell that they were investedin the roles.
The thing i liked about the acting was that they didn't keep one expression for during different situations. And one more thing , when they cried i cried with them. Especially when one of the characters was behaving like a total a**, i got super mad. I have a saying " if an actor makes you feel the same way they feel while portraying the character, then that is a good actor".

Music 7.5
Although there were no OSTs, i still liked it. Whenever something bad was gonna happen, the music made it more real in a way.

Story 10

The story made complete sense .When hunting for dramas i always look at the story or sypnossis they put. Tge story captivated me.
