The ending didn't do justice to the story
After some interesting events that leveled up the characters' strength (which is the whole point of the goldfish metaphor), the characters fell back into draft mode. I felt the ending was disappointing since it kind of brought the story and the characters back to square one. Maybe this is what the screenwriter was trying to portray -how patterns are hard to break- but the characters just didn't show how much they'd grown by the end of the story. I also think it's too open-ended for my taste. I recommend it only if you have extra time/are a fan of Iwata Takanori :)
