A very heartwarming and relatable watch

This drama is PHENOMENAL! Went into this expecting nothing since I don't know the actors or anything about the drama. It just popped up in my YT recommendation while I was watching another cdrama. I definitely did not expect this to become one of my all time favorite Chinese dramas (and I've watched quite a lot already). The poster was quite uninviting and the general description of the drama did not really help. But I still gave it a try cos why not, I'll just drop it after watching 1 or 2 episodes if I don't like it, like manyyyyyy other c-dramas lmao.

BUT after just the first episode I was sold. The story is so interesting. I have not seen any other drama like this. It realistically portrayed how people come and go in our life, especially the different people in each stage of our life. Sometimes in order to move forward with our lives, we don't get to spend much time with our close friends and we get to have new friends in that new stage of our life. But still, we don't forget that relationship and connection we have with our friends from the past and the present. I just love how this was portrayed in the different stages of Shi Guang's journey.

The acting of Lu Siyu (young Shi Guang) was what really prompted me to continue watching this drama. And the cast after they grew up, Hu Xuan Xu and Hao Fu Shen, made me even more crazy for the drama. Each of the actors played their parts well, and none of them disappointed me. Each character also has their own side story which is very realistic in a way that each of us experiences different things and reacts differently to situations. I never knew Zhang Chao before this drama, I only knew that his face is familiar as I've seen him in other dramas but that's it. But after this drama, I will definitely look forward to his future projects since I love his acting in this drama. Same goes for the other actors who really amazed me (aherm Hu Xuan Xu).

The cast, the script, the production, everything is really done super well. JUST WATCH IT! You will not regret it.

A wonderfully done realistic web drama. WATCH IT! You won't regret it.

I just clicked this drama on a whim as it popped up in my YT recommendations. But I never imagined I'd be writing a review for the first time in my life just for this drama. I want other people to know how good this drama is. I've rewatched this drama for the fourth time until I decided to write this review.

First, there are still some loopholes in the story so I can't give it a perfect 10. But the overall feel I got while watching this drama is just wonderful. It shows how complicated human relationships can be since we can't be completely and truthfully honest with each other. There were some scenes where it gets confusing sometimes but when you get to watch the whole series (which can be done in one sitting btw), you can understand the whole purpose of those scenes.

The acting is good, considering most of them are rookie actors. (plus I don't know any of them nor have I seen their other works). The casting for the male lead is perfect. He embodies his character. I just LOVE him. I'm gonna follow his other projects in the future <3 I feel conflicted with the female lead. They have very good chemistry together but there are just some scenes where I feel a bit awkward, especially when its just the female lead. Her acting gives me "acting" vibes. Like she's clearly "acting". Its not bad its just I am used to watching actors and actresses who feel natural onscreen.

I don't even remember the music/OST anymore as I am more engrossed with the story and acting. But the rewatch value is 10 stars lol. I don't usually rewatch whole series, I just watch clips or episodes of those I really like. But this one I've watched the whole series from start to finish again and again. Well, one factor must be that its only 8 episodes long (short?) and I can watch it in one sitting lmao.

I'll stop here. I never imagined I could write such a lengthy review. Just proves how much I love this series even with all its loopholes <3

Super worthy of your time

A HIGHLY RECOMMENDED DRAMA. The acting was so natural in this one. It even felt like I was prying on their privacy, like the scenes really happened in real life and a camera just happens to be there to capture the moment. That's what I felt like while watching this drama (which is rare for me, and I watched a ton of other dramas in this genre already).

This is the first project of Bai Jingting that I've watched and I was pleasantly surprised by how well his acting is and how natural his chemistry was with Sandra Ma. I am definitely gonna check out more of his projects now. I am just crushing on him real hard this time.

I don't really write reviews but I felt like I needed to for this drama since I don't have any other platform to voice out just how much I looove this drama. The story, acting, OST, and cinematography is perfect for this drama. I put a 9.5 for the story since I wanted mooore episodes atleast where they get married or something. But overall, a really good watch of a drama. I originally did not plan to watch this one since I am not really familiar with both leads and the story summary introducing the drama was a bit meh, but I am so glad I did not skip this one out. Totally worth it!
