A Wonderful Surprise
I accidentally found this piece of gold, and I am so glad I did. I enjoyed this so much because I liked that they took the time to build the relationship. In my opinion, this was a lot like being able to take a look into the characters lives. Mitsuomi comes off as serious and a bit rigid, while Yamato is a warm and friendly type. Overtime, you get to see different layers of each of their personalities that isn't immediately noticeable. To me, this felt like a very realistic of a relationship developing which was so refreshing. The actors were great and story was great. I was a fan of the music as well, it really fit the scenes well. A++ for this film. I've watched more than once. Do recommend. ??Was this review helpful to you?

Masterpiece
This series punched me right in the heart. First of all, the cast, music, and storyline were superb. This series is very special to me because of its realism. It really explores how difficult coming out can be on the one hand. On the other it explores how difficult it can be for the partner that is open and willing. Having been through a similar experience as a teen, it really hurt my heart at times to watch. They depicted that struggle and pain so beautifully. I really can't praise this series enough. I would definitely recommend. Bring the tissues because i sobbed more than once during the series. The acting was next level. ??Was this review helpful to you?

This series is my happiness.
Having read Mo Dao Zu Shi, I knew the series would have to adapt to the censorship that comes with Chinese media. But, to be honest the series was more than i could have ever expected. In my opinion, there is a certain harshness to the book series. The gentle tone of the series really added to its beauty for me. The show is truly beautiful. The scenery, the costumes, the music were all just stunning. The two males leads were stunning as well both visiually and talent wise.
Xiao Zhan was charming and funny as Wei Wuxian(Wei Ying), he was pretty spot on. His emotional scenes were heartbreaking. A wonderful actor to play a wonderful character.
Wang Yibo really took the prize for me though (I may be biased as a huge fan of Lan Wangji) with his portrayal of Lan Wangji (Lan Zhan). Lan Wangji was the silent inner turmoil type in the novels, so i knew it would be a challenge. Yibo expressed that inner pain, love, loss, longing, ect with only glances perfectly. I was really impressed and captivated by his ability to express so much with so little dialogue.
The whole cast was a treat really, i have zero complaints.
Its a beautiful heart-wrenching story.
The novel was wonderful, the series was such a nice surprise. It took the limitations put on it and created a incandescently beautiful story of true soulmates. It almost made me appreciate the story more and fall more in love with it. ??

Hmm
Okay. The 7.5 is mostly because of the chemistry between Mu Ren and Li Chen. If those two hadn't been included I doubt i would have finished the series. I didnt care for Li Chen pushiness at times. I have no complaints really about Mu Ren. Ultimately, i found their realtionship to be cute for the most part and the chemistry was great. However, the Xing Si and Yong Jie storyline was hard to watch. Yong Jie raped Xing Si. Period. I found it disturbing seeing them together afterwards and it was like Xing Si felt like the guilty one. The handling of sexual assaults in the series was horrific.
Finally, the women shipping them in the office was pretty cringey. Its quite common in the genre, but its still very cringey to me.
Overall, I would possibly watch again, but to be honest I'd only watch the Mu Ren and Li Chen story.

A surprise gem.
I stumbled on this drama one day and I'm so grateful I did.The story was engaging and never got stale. A nice mystery murder story with twists, turns, emotions, and backstory galore.
The acting was superb by both of the male leads. The cast as a whole was really fabulous to be honest.
Lee Dong-sik was such a captivating character. His expressions alone had the ability to squeeze my heart throughout the series.
Yeo Jin-goo was kind of the king of character development in my opinion.
The chemistry between the characters was captivating and really brought the series up to the top spot for me.
I could really go on about this series forever, but I would hate to spoil it for anyone.
Rewatch value: I've rewatched it three times so far. ???

Love Love
This is one of my favorites. I always seem to come back and watch it every few weeks. There is nothing over the top about this one. I think its subtleties make it lovely and memorable. Even though it takes place over only 7 days, it doesnt feel rushed at all. Love the characters and the subtle building of feelings. One is straighforward and outspoken, while the other is timid and reserved. This creates a beautiful chemistry that I adored. It is cute, but also tugs at the heartstrings a bit as you begin to understand each othe characters. Lovely. I would definitely recommend. ??
