It’s funny how most people tend to recommend Tokyo S.O.S and while I love that one as well, I’d argue that this movie is better. Akane Yashiro still remains as my favorite of the human characters in any Godzilla movie I have ever seen. She is extremely tragic yet inspirational at the same time. Kiryu is also my favorite incarnation of Mechagodzilla (maybe Wingard’s Godzilla vs Kong will top it but I doubt it). The action is top notch and the score is among the best in any Godzilla movie.

The fact that I never thought much about this movie til now is a crime since it is such a gem.
