I had vaguely heard about Kdramas when I watched Parasite after it won the Best Picture Oscar. It literally opened a new world.
Korea seemed such a fascinating country that I wanted to see more movies and shows from there. Starting out with crime & mystery, my favorite genre, my first Kdrama was Signal. Naturally, I was hooked, it’s just so good. After watching all the detective Kdramas I was able to find on Netflix, I branched out to romcoms (surprising myself, I really enjoy them if they have a cute couple and are well written) and historical dramas (the costumes! the scenery! the crown princes!) and everything else, even horror, which I really don’t watch at all, but I loved Sweet Home and Happiness so apparently, I like the Korean version of that genre.
I found this website early on and continue to appreciate the detailed information it provides. While I don’t always agree with the overall rating of a show, the reviews are very helpful to get an accurate idea of what to expect. Soooo… I decided to sign up and maybe write a few reviews myself in order to help others pick a good show from the beautiful magical world of Kdramas.
