I picked up this drama randomly at a dark time when not so good dramas were airing and I had nothing else to watch. I didn’t have a lot of expectations, it looked to me as the usual cliché rom-com that I would eventually drop but that would be enough to fill my evening routine.

However, the drama didn’t have any of the clichés I had expected. From the first episode I felt something new and refreshing about this drama, and I liked it immediately. What I enjoyed the most is that the characters, their circonstances, jobs or family backgrounds seemed REAL.

I really liked how the main couples didn’t have the monopole of the storyline as the two side couples were as entertaining as the main. Each story was unique and interesting. I was really curious about the development of their relationship as I could identify myself with the characters even though they are so different from each other.

What I enjoyed the most is that apart of just being a romantic drama, it mentioned some real and important issues as inequalities between man and women in their workplace, women’s sexual harassment, the financial problems to acquire a property in South Korea or the exagerated costs of a marriage.

Finally I think that the cast was just perfect, the acting was on point, not only for the main characters but all the others as well. Lee Min Ki was my personal fave, I found him so convincing and really enjoyed the fact that he was not the usual annoying rich mama boy who bullies the main female. His character was rational and pleasant to watch. I really look forward to see him in more dramas. Lee Som was also one of my fave, not only is she freaking beautiful, her character is the ultimate female bad ass working girl goal. All the actors did such a great job.

I tried to find some flaws because I’m usually really peaky but really, couldn’t find any. This drama is a precious gem. I would definitely recommend it to anyone if you wish to see a quality rom-com drama that is light and funny but also treats of serious issues, portrayed by amazing actors with an original plot.

This is such a sensational drama, that truly does stand out from the rest. Personally I loved it from the beginning and I was so invested by it that I even considered it as the most well done crime mystery drama at some point. It is really hard to objectively rate this drama as it takes some unexpected turn and I'm still not sure how to feel about it.

I originally started Misty because I read somewhere that there is a strong female lead in it. That was enough reason for me to watch at least the first episode. However, once you finish this very first episode, believe me, there is no way back.

Go Hye Ran is a strong ambitious woman who works as an anchor for a news station and is considered as the best in her field. She has set clear goals in her life and she is ready to do anything to reach them. However behind her success, there are a lot of sacrifices, hard made decisions and her personal life is a mess. One day, she becomes the prime suspect for a murder and her husband who works as a lawyer will try to clear her name. This is the initial situation, I really can’t say more without giving you some spoilers so I’ll stop here.

The storyline is perfection. From episode one to the very end, the suspense and mystery are present and you will struggle to restore the truth behind the appearance. Every time you think you have the right answer, new facts will arise and make you establish new theories and doubt new characters. Misty, indeed.

The actors were all great, especially Kim Nam Joo who is the highlight of this drama. She is so incredible that now I can not imagine someone else for this role. I believe that the most important thing in this drama are the characters and their development. The choices they have made through their lives and where those choices have brought them. Did they made the right decisions? How far did they go to reach happiness?

I have to say one word about the stunning camera work. The cinematography is truly beautiful, the camera captures the essence of the thematic through aesthetically pleasing angles, colors and framing.

But then I have to say a word about the fashion design as well. Go Hye Ran is one of the most well-dressed woman I’ve seen in kdramas. So many screenshots on my computer and how many times did I thought « I want to dress like her when I’m older ». Classy and elegant.

The music plays an important role in this drama and fits perfectly to each scene. While it adds more effect to the suspens and more impact to the action, it also manages to capture our hearts with the beautiful, nostalgic and calm soundtrack.

My only regret is the ending, as a twisted drama I was expecting something more till the very end. A lot of people say that the end is just fine for them and I tried to make up my mind as well but I can’t hide my disappointment. With another ending, I would give this a 10/10 for sure.

LIVE is one of these rare dramas that makes you forget the general thought that Korean dramas are unrealistic shows, full of clichés and improbable situations. Of course, we still love these typical dramas but sometimes we've seen too much of this parallel world and we need to escape it, at least for a moment, to come back to reality.

Reality is what defines Live the best. The drama tells the everyday lives of a bunch of people, of different age and gender, that are linked by one commun point, their job as police officers. Honestly, when I first saw the main poster and then read the synopsis, I was not interested. The daily lives of police officers? Doesn't sound appealing to me. I still gave it a try after reading all the great critiques it received. After one episode only, I was sold.

Not only the directing is absolutely flawless, but the cast, the script, the music; everything was done perfectly and the quality of this drama equals foreign shows and movies. The main theme music is so beautiful and fits the drama perfectly (Family of the year- Carry me). I love it when Korean directors shows us that they are able to make masterpieces when they put their heart at it. I only have love and respect for every person involved in this amazing drama.

So what about the police officers that I talked about? Well, the synopsis does revolve around the job of policemen, but it is so much more than that. While you learn a lot about the police force in modern Korea, and you take a closer look to this profession with all its ups and downs, you realize that police officers are just normal human beings who struggle to make a decent living through their job and all the difficulties that come with it. This drama is about humanity, solidarity, empathy, the way we treat each other and the way we chose to live our lives.

Truly, I got so attached to this amazing cast, it will be difficult to start something new. I feel like taking a break to appreciate what I've seen and not directly jump into another show. There was a lot of characters but every single one of them had an equal importance, I cared for all of them and was invested in every story.

This drama will make you smile and laugh. It will also make you cry and at times, make you angry. You will be left overwhelmed by all kinds of feelings.

I will surely watch this drama again and I recommend it to everyone for a great life lesson.

PS: Live has a similar vibe to My Mister or Prison Playbook, and is equally stunning but unfortunately was left unnoticed , for reasons that I ignore

I’m not a big fan of horror shows nor do I watch them on usual. I often find them way too out of sync with the reality, and as a result, not that scary or even credible. (Speaking of dramas only, movies are on a total different range). From time to time I still try to give this genre a chance and that’s how I randomly started The Guest.

This horror story offers a fascinating investigation, with a dark yet captivating atmosphere, the right touch of scary and mystery, that is quickly becoming a thrill-packed adventure from episode 3 or 4. Besides its scary aspect, this drama is about human relationships, and mostly friendship. Honestly, I am glad that they didn’t incorporate some unnecessary romance in it.

It is obvious that the scenario, no matter how well written it is, wouldn’t be anything without the sublime chemistry of our main trio. Delivered by its incredible actors, the characters of The Guest are highly convincing and touching. I believe they where perfectly casted and I wouldn’t imagine anyone else playing their roles.

The excellent directing of Mister Kim Hong Seong should also be emphasized and praised, he managed to offer such a quality show... All the scenes with possessed people were perfectly done and worth the quality of a movie, no bad special effects or cringy moments. The whole atmosphere and the game of lights and sounds where really pleasant to watch. While the noises are mostly frightening, the show could make you cry in a second with its beautiful soundtracks.

About the ending, and of course without spoiling anything; while I find it overall satisfying, I believe some main questions still remain unanswered. I think a second season would be a really great idea and a logical continuation to put a definitive end to the plot. Also, it would be a great pleasure to reunite with our beloved characters for a second time.

As I’m writing this review, I already miss this drama, I became really attached to its characters and I think it won’t be easy to find something to replace it. This is why I highly recommend this drama to anyone who enjoys a quality show... and is not easily scared :)
