Perfect side story

This side story if not really a side story for me. It's more a glimpse of what changed between Oh-aew and The since the end of part 1. It helps us to understand better how their relationship evolved and thus we'll not be lost at the beginning of part 2. It's real transition, The says it himself. Now that there is no sun to watch, they have to watch the moon. And I think it's very beautiful. PP and Billkin are so comfortable with each other, I love the sweet gestures between them and Teh doesn't seem afraid of showing publicly his affection, I know we'll have angst but I have hope for so many good moments in part 2.

I thought it would be a fan service video with only cute moments between those two . But I was wrong because in this 10 minutes video, Nadao still deal with coming of age theme. When you have to study elsewhere, far for home, when you life is gonna change for real and it's scary but also exciting. For instance, I like the fact that, during the scene on the beach, Oh-aew is not crying because he'll miss Teh. He's crying because he is saying goodbye to his younger self and his past life.

Last but not least, I'm always so much impressed by the cinematography. It's so beautiful, and it's only 10 minutes! The shots, the light... it's real art.

Disappointing

(I'm not a native speaker, I apologise for any mistakes).

Soooo, when I write this review, 2gether has just ended and the only word that come to my mouth to describe this drama is "disappointing". I didn't dislike the show and I don't want to be rude but it doesn't deserve this current mydramalist rating (9), at least for me.

I really liked the beginning of 2gether. There were new and good looking actors, fresh storyline, nice music. Even if the story was basic it was still okay because thanks to the characters and the chemistry between the two leads. It was okay until episode 7 I think. Then, when the story of the second couples begin to be more interesting, the one of Sarawat and Tine became boring. The story became so cliché, the last episode was so useless. Nothing happened! About the story with Pam,I had the feeling it was only here to add more episodes but that's all. It was so annoying to see the leads fighting whereas a little discussion could have solved any problem. Tine didn't want to listen to Sarawat, Sarawat was doing nothing etc. The only thing that was fine, at the end, was the second couples, and especially the one with Type and Man. I really loved them! It's a shame that they didn't have that much of screen time and that their story only really began and the last quarter of the series. These characters were underdeveloped.

I just want to talk about the romance and the chemistry, and for that I will make some comparisons with SOTUS. Why this drama? Because it's my favourite BL and because I think that it's similar. By that I mean that in both 2gether and SOTUS the romance is shy : there are no much kiss scenes or intimate scenes. First about the chemistry. If there was A LOT of chemistry at the beginning, this same chemistry decreased and at the end I was just feeling....nothing. When Kongpob and Arthit are together, just when they look at each other we can feel that there is SOMETHING between then. During the 2nd part I didn't feel that between Tine and Sarawat. Maybe it's just me. Then, about the kiss scenes. I think it wasn't natural at all. Some kisses were also "fake" (like "movie-kiss") and there wasn't any real romantic kiss. There was the drunken-kiss, the kiss to say "I love you got it?" and the angry-kiss. But no actual and genuine romantic kiss scenes sadly. In SOTUS, there are a lot of suggestions about their sexual life. Here there were non. I agree they just began to date. But why are they moving together when they just began to date then? If the "can I touch your boobs" was funny at the beginning, it wasn't very subtile and at the end, I was just annoyed by that. The character development and the evolution of the romance weren't well-written unfortunately.

The end was soooo disappointing. Not even a kiss. Just the guitar, a high five and Sarawat who touch Tine's head (after one year of relationship??)... The acting wasn't bad, but sometimes Bright really lacked of natural in his expressions...

2gether is a refreshing BL. Indeed, the songs are nice and it makes the viewer discovers more about Scrubb songs, which is nice. The leads are good looking and I think that for those who are not used to BL dramas it was cool and it's one of the reason why so much people appreciated this show. But for me it's just an average drama and I feel very sad about this because I actually loved the first episodes very much.

More than just a BL

Without hesitation : this is the best Bl series I have ever watched (sorry SOTUS I'm betraying you). The story is so well written because it seems so realistic, the cinematography was just absolutely amazing (it reminds me a lot Taiwanese movies). Every scene was beautiful. The chemistry between the two leads was captivating, I never felt so much tension and desire in a BL series before. The main leads suffer a lot, they are very confused about their feeling, their sexual orientation and it's why I feel that ITSAY is more than just a BL, it's a true LGBT story that everyone should watch! Their story is beautiful and you can say goodbyes to all these BL famous tropes (that I personally dislike a lot).

I just want to see the second part so badly!

So refreshing !!

I began this show without any expectations but I ended it being very sad: it's already over!! I really really loved WBL, and I'm very surprised because the story is not that new. The theme is about unrequited love, and it is more a BL than a LGBTQ+ show, as it not really and directly tackled the homosexuality question.

BUT (there is a huge BUT), the story was so fresh! I don't know but everything from the cast (Sam and YU chemistry is precious) to the editing, directing, music, colours.... I like everything, except some sides characters. Some were really unnecessary, and I didn't like the doctor. He was very strange, sometimes even kinda creepy... I like the two friends of Shy Yi though. Sam Lin is a good actor, I like his expressions in WBL.

It's only 6 episodes of 30 min so If you want to take a good time, please watch this show, it really deserves it! I'm so excited about season 2 and I'm also little afraid. But based on the end of the ep 6, I don't think there will be a lot of drama, or at least it will still be kind of "light". Even the last scene was at the same time sad but also funny for me aha.

Finally, I love Sam and YU friendship. I'm not the type of fan who like shipping actors together, I don't really like that. Same, I don't like the all "wife" thing. BUT I admit that I really love seeing Sam and YU together (as friends). There are son funny, so natural and they seem to care and like each other a lot.

(I'm very strict with ratings so don't really mind it, the most important thing is this: I liked this show very much, give it a try).

English is not my first language.

I didn't dislike this drama but I didn't love it as much as a lot of BL fans did.

I loved :
- the chemistry between the two leads. It was really incredible, they looked like a real couple!
- the story (or at least, what they wanted to show even if it was a failure) and more precisely all the things about being homophobic because of a trauma. I found this idea really interesting and new.
- I really liked the music, some scenes were really sweet and others very funny.

And....that's all.

What I disliked :

How they dealt with the trauma-thing and the scene that was almost a sexual abuse scene. I really liked the fact that Type was homophobic because of something that happened when he was a child. At first it was really interesting. But then there was a scene : Type was almost sexually abused by Tharn. I know that Tharn is a good guy, that Type "responded" and also that for BL viewers this intimate scene was "nice" to watch but I couldn't really love it. Type had never agreed with this. Moreover, all the plot around the trauma lasted for only few episodes and then, when they were a couple, everything was forgotten. It's a shame because the scenarists reduced the trauma thing as just an obstacle or an excuse to explain Type being homophobic, whereas trauma is something really difficult to overcome and many people suffer of this in real life. In the Taiwanese drama Mars, the heroine was victim of sexual abuses but her evolution and how the male lead helps her to overcome her trauma are really well-shown. In Tharn Type, Tharn doesn't seemed to care about Type's past and even Type himself seems to forgot about his own trauma. BUT IT'S A TRAUMA GUYS !! How can we "forget" a trauma?

Good mood and Singto

To be honest this series is objectively not very amazing. The scenario is very ordinary and sometimes cliché.

But still, I loved Midnight Fantasy and these four episodes left me each week with a big smile on the face!

I must say that I mostly loved this drama because of Singto. I just loved him, I loved his character (his acting was really great in so many scenes, the sad and the funny ones). Even in a little drama like this he shines. For me he's really one of the best actor of the GMMTV. I really want him to continue to improve himself and I would like to see him in more serious series. Seeing him fight with Off was pure happiness. I also really liked Gunsmile (whereas it's not often the case I must say), he is better when he doesn't play idiot/funny character. I didn't really like the main actress and her character that was sometimes annoying. But it was still okay because of certain someone (SINGTO).

The last episode was very lovey dovey but it was still very pleasant to watch. I was hoping for more than a forehead kiss but whatever ahah.

Ah, did I say that Singto is really handsome? :P

Lee Woo Jung's masterpiece

This is the best drama I've ever watched. It's amazingly beautiful, everyone should watch this masterpiece. The duet formed by PD Shin Won Ho and writer Lee Woo Jung is the best. They are genius!

I absolutely loved EVERY SINGLE character, they are all so well written. Every time we think we know them, we realise we were wrong. The friendships between the characters (the teenagers but also the parents, the ajhumma gang, etc) were so funny, realistic, beautiful. Reply 1988 series doesn't only focus on friendship, it also deal with love and most of all family love. I adored every moments between the siblings in every family (Bo-ra and Deok Sun, Jong Bong and Jung Hwan). The relation children-parents were so well depicted (I cried so much during Bo-ra's wedding, or during Mi-ran surprised party organised by Jung-Hwan). I could talk about each character for so long but I must stop. About the romance, every couple was great. I must say I knew since the beginning who were the husband (I was spoiled a long time ago). But I must admit that I'm really happy about the ending and who the husband is, even if my heart is broken for Jung Hwan (he's such an angel, but Taek was braver that's why he deserves Deok-Sun better).

I cried, I laughed, smiled, or was afraid or disappointed for the character. I felt so many emotions while watching this drama. It's such an heartwarming and realistic drama and that's why it is so good.

The soundtrack was perfection, every song was so good ! The acting was gorgeous.

To say goodbye to Ssangmundong neighbourhood is so difficult but every good thing has to end one day.

Deeper than you may think

I read a lot of reviews and I think that when you watch this series you can whether like or dislike it. A lot of people criticised the fact that the story of Pete and Kao wasn't interesting because they fought for twelve episodes long. I disagree. Some people said that Sun and Mork's story was far more interesting than Pete and Kao's. I disagree : both of them were. Though, I agree with this who argued that Kao was maybe too passive and Pete sometimes too agressive. But it can be explained. + I apologise if there are any English mistakes.

Pete & Kao

I loved them in Kiss Me Again, I loved them more in Dark Blue Kiss. Why? Because it was the first time I watched a BL story that seemed so realist. The issues both of the leads faced were real issues. They have to deal with family, friends, work issues. DBK shows all the struggles a gay couple have to faced in our societies ( societies that accept gays relationships more or less). For instance, during all the series, Pete wants Kao to tell his mother about their relationship but he dares not, he's afraid to be a bad son. Same thing goes when he hides himself to his friends. Pete is more confident about who he is because he is already accepted by his father so it's easier for him. And while Kao is struggling with his sex orientation thing, Pete is struggling with himself. He has everything thanks to his father but he's still not confident (he doesn't have good grades etc.) which explain the fact he's so possessive over Kao. He's afraid of losing him, he's afraid for being not good enough and the fact that his secret boyfriend doesn't admit he's gay doesn't help him. I think that if they fought so much it's because they're afraid and that fear pushes them to lie or hide there feelings or even being not very understanding. But despite all of that they love each other so much. The two actors have a very good chemistry and I liked how sweet was Pete and Kao relationship. I loved how they had all those little fights, I loved how they support each other and show their affection in their own way. I think ep 7 was very important : Kao's surprise for Pete on their anniversary day showed that whatever people may say and even if Kao hides things, he likes Pete the most. Finally, I want to talk about the love/kiss scenes. GMMTV's dramas do not often show much. But what I liked in this one was all the allusions. It was different from SOTUS because we know that Pete and Kao are used to each other presence, they are confortable with each other (and yeah they do have sex, Pete seems to think about this a lot ahah). They discuss mature subject like wedding or making love. I liked that. Their friends and their families were amazing also.

Sun & Mork

I liked their story too, it was really fluffy and interesting. It was a pleasure to see Sun happy and to see everybody happy at the end in fact. I love they love-hate relationship and how understanding and funny Rain is with them. Like, the scene with all the three in the bed was so cute and funny. I was pleased to see a gay character that really assumed to be gay (Sun) and know that he is since a long time.

Let's talk abut Non now (and then I stop). I dislike him of course but poor boy, his father push him to become like that. I didn't like him since the beginning but in fact I think that Pete was a bit to much angry because Non was just doing some childish things to get him angry and Pete played the game. So I agree with the fact that Pete's jealousy was a bit excessive. In fact Non wasn't that evil. He is just a child who is looking for some attention and because his dad doesn't look at him, he is searching Kao attention, and Pete's in some way also.

So, I loved this drama as you can see by how long my review is. I think the story may seems cliché and a bit annoying for some but it's deeper than that.

History 3 : Trapped is my first BL drama ever!

I think it's a good drama to begin with and I wasn't disappointed at all. It was really entertaining and now that I've seen other Bl dramas I think the plot is pretty original (it's not a school drama like it often is). The story was interesting but if we cut the BL part I think I wouldn't have like it as much as I had. I think the chemistry between the main leads but also between the second leads (I loved Jack) is really enjoyable. The romance between the leads is really beautiful, and I liked the end.
One thing I didn't like is the way of acting of some actor (for instance Tang Yi, in one scene he wasn't credible at all and that bothered me a little). I recommend this drama for those who want a good BL with an original plot (but it's far from being a good thriller, it's still a BL and the story focus on Tang Yi and Shao Fei).

Just one of the best Thai BL ever!

(English is not my first language)

I'll try to be the more objective as possible in this review. SOTUS has a very special place in my heart, being both my first Thai BL and Thai drama. It's also one of my favourite drama ever.

But this series has a lot of flaws. The beginning of the story is very slow and some episodes can even seem kind of boring. At the beginning of the series, the story really focus on the SOTUS system and the hazing and not really on the love story. But thanks to that we can know better the different characters and the bond between them. I indeed liked the fact that all characters are important and have their place in the story. AND the women in SOTUS were not just some crazy or evil girl. They were a part of the band too, thing I really appreciated. About how the theme of hazing is treated, I think it was okay. Kongpob is against the SOTUS system but not totally, he recognises the good sides. In an interview, the actor playing Wad said that before shooting the series he was totally against the system, but the show changed his mind a little. This show is not anti-SOTUS but not totally pro-SOTUS either. We can't forget that SOTUS is a real social issue in Thailand and even if it can have his good sides, a lot of people suffered or even died because of this.

What I love in SOTUS was the love story. It was very slow but at the same time very sweet. Some viewers said that they didn't understand how the characters fell in love. Maybe it's because their feeling grew very slowly. But the feelings are here, I can assure you. And of course, because they're both men, they have more difficulties to show they are in love. Look at Arthit, he struggles so much and he's still the one that make their relationship progress the most. They both are very courageous. The chemistry between the two main leads is so great, Krist and Singto being good friends in real life.

Finally, I want to talk quickly about the BL aspect and the homosexuality issue. I like how it was treated. This story is a story of love before being a "real" BL. We don't have much intimate moment (it's not TharnType, indeed) but when they were I found myself to be so happy. Some people criticised the fact that both of the main leads refused to recognise openly that they were gay. But sorry, they are gay or at least bisexual. If not it's impossible for two guys to be in love aha. BUT, I liked how the series show that romance is beyond gender. My favourite quote is "I don't like men, I like P'Arthit". This quote doesn't mean : "I'm not gay but I am gay just for P'Arthit". It's impossible. But according to me, the message behind this is that Kongpob is bisexual, he has an interest for woman but he still fell in love with a man and he doesn't want to be with anyone except P'Arthit. Just that. He loves P'Arthit, period.

Try this drama, it's worth it ;)

A mature rom-com

(English is not my first language, I apologise for any mistakes).

"Because this is my first life" might have a typical synopsis but I can assure you that this rom-com is really not usual!

It's the first Korean drama I've watched that talked about women's place in Korean society. I loved the fact that despite having different points of view about life and marriage, the 3 women of this drama are very strong. I loved Woo Soo Ji! There are a lot of society issues that are treated in this drama, like sexual harassment in your job, marriage (and how the family of the husband is treating the wife), women's place in society, etc. Even if the story seems basic with the "fake-marriage" thing, actually the subject is really well treated and the story is far more deeper and better than it seems. I loved of course our 3 male characters and their evolution! And the cat was very very cute.

This romance was both shy and mature, thing I really appreciated. We don't have adults who react like college or high school students. Ji Hoo is not used to relationship but it doesn't mean that she acts like a kid. And the male lead might seems cold but it's more because he's shy. So he never treats Ji Hoo like she was his object, on the contrary!

About the acting I also really liked it but sometimes I had some difficulties with Jung So Min, her character really seemed too apathy and cold sometimes. I wished she smiled more but I think it's because of her character and not because she's a bad actress. The soundtrack wasn't too bad.

To conclude, I really liked the (mature) story, the evolution of the characters, the social issues treated and the romance. It's really a great story and one of my favourite rom-com.

A gem

Wow. This drama is truly amazing, wonderful, beautiful. Perfection does not exist. But this drama is really one of the best. It's a must-watch.

- Story
My god, this story was genuinely extraordinary. The two first episodes are a bit slow and sometimes confusing (by that I mean that the viewer still doesn't get the real point of the story). BUT THEN, everything changes and you just can't help to make numerous theories and continue watching the all show until you have all your answers. The time travel theme was so well-treated : even if it was sometimes confusing, everything makes sense at the end, and there are no mistakes. The romance was beautiful. This story really shows that true love doesn't care about time and space, and that people who are fated to each other will be together at the end (I loved the ending, it was perfect). I liked how the themes of friendship and family were treated. And also, very important, some social issues are also treated through the character of CYR (she is harassed, suffers from depression and has a strong lack of confidence that leads her to kill herself). I liked the fact that CHY isn't just a body for HYX, she is also a person who needs to be understood and saved.

- Acting
The acting was amazing. It was Greg Hsu's first leading role, but his performance ans superb! He was really in his character, the chemistry between him and Alice Ke was so beautiful. He manages to show the evolution of Li Zi Wei through time so well. On the other hand, Alice Ke managed to play two characters at the same time and she did that so well that we were never confused. Even when she played CYR who tries to be HYX she was great. Other actors were also very convincing in their role. With the great story it really helps the viewers to be immersed in the drama.

- Music
I needed to talk about the music. First, one of the song, "Last Dance" of Wu Bai, is not just a soundtracks but a part of the story itself! I thought I would be bothered to hear it so many times but surprisedly, I wasn't. But all the other songs were really awesome, the lyrics were very meaningful and just made each scenes better. I loved the song "想見你想見你想見你“ of 381 and "Someday or one day" of Shi Shi, but also "明天“ (Naiwen Yang)。

I apologise for any mistakes, English is not my first language.

TRY 18 AGAIN!

Okay, let me tell you one thing : like a lot of viewers, I began this show with no expectations. At the beginning I even wanted to avoid 18 Again, I though it would be impossible to do a good 16 hours drama based on the American movie 17 Again. BUT I WAS WRONG aha. I just loved this show so much, even if it's not perfect. Yes it can be a bit slow, yes there is a love triangle, yes I didn't like the secondary couple (their story wasn't enough credible, it was a love at first sight pretty creepy but whatever). But overall, 18 Again is such an heartwarming and emotional k-drama fill of love (family love, romance, friendship) and comedy. I you like rom-com, If you like family drama, this one is for you. There are a lot of beautiful life lessons in this show.
PLUS: There is Lee Do Hyun in it. God, I didn't know this actor but he manages to be one of my favourite since the first episode. I'm impressed by his acting, he has a bright future ahead if he chose the good projects :) The others actors are great too, the music is very beautiful (Hello hello will make you cry for sure).

Let be sincere, I watched Crash Landing On You for Hyun Bin. But in this drama I discovered others wonderful actors and characters and I fell in love with this story, and especially the first part, in North Korea. It's really strange to say but in one hand, this drama make the viewers dislike North Korea because it shows how people are living there, it shows there is no justice and people are not free (like we all know). But in the other hand, the North Korean characters of this show (except for the evil characters) are the most likeable. I really like the main lead who was so sincere, heart softed and straightforward. He was ready to do anything for the woman he loves. I also liked all the woman in the village and, above all, I absolutely loved all the soldiers who work the protagonist Company. I loved them so much, and during the second part of the drama, I even prefered the scenes where they were than the scenes with our main couple. I also loved our second couple and I was so sad that the scenarists chose this ending for them, but it shows that life is not so beautiful.

I think that the second part in South Korea was good but it was too long (the episodes themselves were too long) and too teerful during the last episodes. I had the feeling that they spent most part of the series in the hospital... I didn't like Se Ri family, even at the end. The romance and chemistry however were perfect, I really felt the love between our leads. I love the evolution of Se Ri character and how she becomes so lovable. I liked her friendship with the other soldiers and how she makes so many presents for them and cry for them. It was too cute.

Finally I think the plot of this show (despite the fact it's happening in North Korea) is not so original. But it's kinda exotic and I liked discovers the life of North Korean people (even if it the vision of South Korean and it's not the reality because we don't really know what exactly is happening in this country). Plus, maybe Hyun Bin was a little old to play his younger self aha.

I loved the OST they were so amazingly beautiful! And the cameos were incredibly funny. Love the acting also.
