An easy watch :)

This drama is a relatively easy watch. I am a big fan and admirer of ZYX but putting that aside. This review is wholeheartedly my honest opinion of this show.

First of all, the cast is good looking. Everyone is pretty much good looking and pretty however, I have to give extra attention to ZYX outfit changes in this drama. She looks like she’s on a runway in every scene when she is in the workplace and even when she’s out. Regardless of her small short and slim figure she rocked the outfits and looks for her character. The male lead looked great with the spectacles. Really completes the whole mysterious domineering vibe he had going on.

Their acting was good as well which is no surprise there because they won’t be casted if they weren’t right? They all were able to showcase the emotions and personalities of their respective characters making it theirs and making the once fictional character come into life and allowing us to be a part of it by witnessing it.

I have seen their chemistry behind the scenes and I can tell it was a comfortable and positive atmosphere and working environment for everyone allowing better results. And I have to add the chemistry between ZYX and the male lead real life friendship they have is so sweet and swoon worthy. I was the one guilty of watching those bts scenes rather than the actual drama because it was so sweet which explains why there are speculations of their actual relationship.

The plot of the drama is easy, entertaining but nothing too complicated nor intense. It’s more of you thought it would be intense due to the numerous factors but it end to be wasn’t. ZYX character at the beginning can be seen as frustrating but I urge you to keep watching because there is more to her character she is a badass that for the courage to love someone who is actually right for her. So please no hate on her.

The hate should be her ex bf and the male lead ex gf who just infuriate me throughout. You ll get it when you watch it.

The romance and passion elements is there nothing too much but the kiss scenes and the swooning scenes is able to make up for it.

The end scene wrapped up the drama just nice where they were able to start a whole new life with one another. Which is so sweet.

You know if I were in China I would be all over and voting for them and the show but I m not so I can’t emphasise enough that this is a good watch and the actors were all great.

Didn’t meet my expectations too much. But still a good drama more or less.

I was anticipating a lot. It was on my watch list for a while but the feeling that it didn’t full fill my expectations as much I would have hoped is one of the worst feelings as overly dramatic as it may be.

The cast is good looking. The strong female lead that is like Mulan is something I always appreciate and a factor I look for with these kind of dramas. The martial arts is great. The story is a little complicated but the essence of the issue remains not too difficult to understand. A second female lead that doesn’t want to kill the first out of jealousy is a breath of fresh air and that’s good.

The romance part is sweet between the first leads. But it lacked the passionate element that just too me would seal the deal but they didn’t show that even the kiss scene was blurred out and it just showed two birds making out. Even the supporting actors kiss would be shown. I don’t know what’s up with that.

So because of this, the romance element isn’t wholeheartedly something i was glad to see because right lacked that passion. Some might not find this important but some does so I m one of them.

I mean putting the aside the food looks of the cast if something like is lacking the romance element isn’t wholly fulfilled.

The second male lead who had feelings for the first female lead was a bit of coward he didn’t truly fought for her or had the courage to do anything to stand up to the bully. The second female lead was sweet but abit annoying of how many times she kept crying over something.

The editing for the last scene of the fire was hilariously bad but oh well.

If these elements isn’t crucial for you to look for then it might still be a watch for you.

I might not watch it again for a while.

Confused.

Imma keep it really simply and bluntly honest. Putting aside the good looks of the FL and ML. Other than that, there wasn’t really anything that I was swooning over or anticipating when I was watching it. The anticipation of the interesting or the fiery romance between the leads just wasn’t present I didn’t had that feeling. I wouldn’t say that I had high expectations over this drama. But it would be Nice if it was at the very least decently tolerable.

I like the troupe of the FL having the courage to go after the ML first instead of having it the other way around all the time but as I was two episodes i though hey? The romance between the two are adorable blah blah. But then bunch of crap kept happening like the empress betrayal and Cruelty. The FL end up being the concubine. Even if it was for show then at least she could have told the ML so then there wouldn’t be such a contradiction there.

There wasn’t much romance when she kept saying that she had feelings for the emperor. Then imma like? Why didn’t she tell him the truth? Who she protecting for what? And what for? Like that ain’t a good reason. And there was a new young emperor who calls the FL mom and I was like where did this kid came from???? And even in the end Fl was like thinking that the ML is dead only after 10 ass years she found out she wasn’t. Then the ending scene was then playing the flute and zither are you kidding me???????? After all that drama and 10 years after that, they decide to end with them playing instruments???

Had so much potential and the ML since to have his own personal struggle filming this show. But didn’t impress me. However I still might rewatch more attentively next time not now. To see whether it is still worth it.

Did not satisfy the expectations I had.

Where to begin. As seen in the title, this drama just didn’t act to the expectations I had. This is my personal take on this show, If you disagree then feel free not to continue reading and let’s open an area of friendly discussion instead :)

I m here, for Bai lu. Of course? Don’t get me started. She was extremely talented. I usually see her acting in strong domineering brave characters that knows martial arts but in this case she was more docile innocent pure and gentle. She was adorable! Very pretty, really among the few actresses out there that can make historical outwear work.

But she has this unexplainable stance when she is with you. Like she looks like a badass heroine that is ready to take on the bad guys with her sword based on her look. But in this case there’s not so much of that.

She was brave and smart and devoted in a different way. Okok we know she’s great so let’s move on to the rest. The male lead, was rather decent. I have not seen him in much dramas yet but he really suits these historical dramas but not so much for modern drama.

The second male lead, Is only 19 but his acting and look are promising so I ll leave it as that.

The story is about love, politics, betrayal, deception, loyalty things like that. I mean the young girl growing up to be a beautiful lady and is actually in love with her so called mentor but forbidden to be together like swoon worthy? However, this potential of a love story didn’t really Shine through. There isn’t much steaminess and sauciness that makes us feel like we re on clouds.

So that’s why I wasn’t all the way supporting the main couple. Sure they love each other but it wasn’t truly shown? Like the dude should have fought for her and the fact that commuting suicide for love is apparent in this drama can be seen as appalling but I shall keep an open mind.

There’s no kiss, nothing like that. Which is disappointing because I mean a kiss kiss is something so basic to show the viewers that the love that they have for one another is now bound for forever. The note he gave because he dies didn’t even I love you or something like..... he just let her be married and act all sad about it on the outside.

During the last few episodes, feel like grabbing the collars of the director and writers to slap them. BECAUSE LIKE WHY???? I mean I am looking for something different of a plot twist in shows but my Gosh this is too much.

The casting is a little questioning I mean the male lead has a son and the second male is close to a minor. But no discrimination about age and married people. Just something to bear in mind.

So the acting sure was alright. Story has potential but actual overall disappointing didn’t meet my expectations. I did skimmed through because of this.

Please watch it for yourself if you disagree with whatever I am saying.

Didn’t meet expectations.

I am going to be bluntly honest in this review. If one isn’t able to take it then feel free not to read it. However, I have to let out my frustrations over this drama that I have recently watched.

Yes I have only wanted till episode 40. Which really is a lie because I skimmed through from episode 20+ onwards till 40. Why? Well, it wasn’t hard the drama started off as something of a potential plot that I was intrigued with.

But next episode after the next slowly lowered my expectations making me feel utterly disappointed. But I do not regret skimming through as I usually do mainly because it is reasonable for me to in this case.

First of all, the fact that it is more than 40 episodes can be a form of a drag. Because I don’t really like watching drama that are way too long and the story takes way too long to unravel. Which this drama kinda does but not too much, I ll give it that.

Tell you what, it doesn’t have stereotypical factors that it usually does in these dramas. Like having the men to be the hero of an marriage that was not approved in the beginning but due to the heroine the blessing was given wholeheartedly and deserving. I ll give it to the female lead, bai lu. I do like the actress mainly the reason why I watched this show.

She of course was talented her acting was great. And the character is super admirable other than being such a sought after bachelorette. To put it in one word, she’s awesome. She helps people and is able to discover the truth based on almost nothing. Making sure that justice would always be upheld being that she went thought tradgedy herself.

So I wanted good things for her like any viewer would. She fell in love, so be it. And it’s not with some cold conventional dude but with someone warm going and energetic so I was hoping to see some saucy romance but at the same time loving and meaningful.

But I got nothing. There was no kiss even when they got married at least they didn’t include it for some reason. The hugs and embrace was not tight and convincing enough for me. And when there finally is a kiss it didn’t make me swoon.

And the moment once they want to get a little action. All the dude says he wants a son. Then that scene ends.
Know this, I m not here for only action. But these are one of the factors that naturally pulls a viewer, well me.

The casting of this drama was a little weird. Like the male lead, it’s mean to say but he’s looks are decent I guess it’s just that he’s acting isn’t convincing enough that he is a lead. He didn’t grab the attention in the room.

The story was alright and it has a lot of potential too bad it take little details like this that can put that all down the drain.

However I still am staying to watch the last episode mainly to see whether they end up together but will I skim through? Definitely.

Absolutely unexpected terrible.

I m sorry, but this review is going to be blatantly honest. I had decently high expectations of this drama. It has been on m watching list for a little while and when I found out it has two seasons, I was a little intrigued with anticipation.

However, my expectations was not met. The damn drama is lesser than 14 minutes per episode which is pretty much three episodes of 50mins. I was confused at the first episode because it was really quick, it felt like kinda rushed and like I can’t help have the feeling that I am missing something.

The love hate relationship between the leads are good. But then again I didn’t get how and what and why the male lead starting falling in love. It was like out of nowhere.

The story was kinda all over the place it was rushed for sure. So I generally don’t even like it and make it all worse it was three episodes only. Same for the second season as well.

The acting was decently alright but the casting of some of the supporting actor and actresses could have been better. The second male lead why does he have to be a big question mark? Like HUH?

Would I watch it again? Absolutely not. I skipped through all the episodes after making these little discoveries and it wasn’t hard because there’s nothing much to look forward to except the growing romance but even that there is not enough sauciness to make us viewers hold onto the edge of our seats.

I am only one person. My take on this drama does not reflect the vast majority of the audience that wants or have watched this show. So you gotta see it for yourself.

But hopefully, this review can be helpful in some way if your choosing what drama to add on your watch list. I rather be rewatching old dramas then watch this train wreck.

Again, nothing personal just a honest review.

I may not have finished watching, but hear me out!

Okay this review will be honest based on my own personal views of this show. If you can’t take it then feel free not to read it :)

Okay first off, the plot? It was decently alright, however it is rather complicated you gotta kinda pay a little bit of attention to kinda get the political dispute going about in the story with the characters. I guess I can’t argue much about that being that it is a historical political drama so it’s likely a given.

But it is not totally totally political but there are politics involved in terms of why the main leads are doing what they are doing.

But the story? I say it’s alright because it has romance, love, history, politics, action and loyalty. The women in this drama aren’t totally fragile and delicate the main leads are awesome in their own way. Their independent smart strong women portrayed in this which is always appreciated.

The male leads are of course, vested in their own personalities and are rather determined in fulfilling their personal missions for whatever tragedy that have be fallen upon them in the past or something.

There is also deception, betrayal between the characters which is awful to watch cos the leads are always being targeted although they mean well.

Their acting are top notch. The male lead really has the looks and feel of being an emperor so that makes it even more appealing to watch however, Zhang Yu Xi was a brave strong skilled and loyal swords woman which is just awesome cos she’s like the ideal badass heroine we all need in these shows.

And of course the leads fall in love and the idea of bodyguard and boss romance? How’s sweet and swoon worthy is that?

The villains are of course assholes and the ones who deceived the good are too mean eggheads. But yes I guess it just makes the audience sit at the edge of their sits whenever there is a plot twist.

I have not finished the drama cos the last few episodes aren’t out yet. I also skimmed through a little bit of the later episodes but I did a great job in following the previous ones all the way. Although I skimmed through it doesn’t affect my personal review on how well the show is.

In terms of the intimacy? Hmm, have not seen that much yet. So hopefully there will be progress cos I mean both leads are pretty skilled in making us swoon when they have intimate scenes. But cmon as viewers we would like a little sauce but so far not yet. But the scenes of the leads helping one another out so that they don’t die is definitely swooning.

You gotta watch it for yourself to form an opinion on your own. But I hope my review can help you in some way and open an area of discussion.

Decent.

This was a decent show. The story isnt too complicated to understand. The Crux of the real problem between the leads remain apparent provided you actually focus and are attentive in what’s going on in the show.

The terminologies of investment and business development etc. Gave me a little headache as I was really in the zone of trying to understand what’s going on in the first few episodes. But they sprout out different terms that made not much sense to me and you gotta put in a little effort to try and understand to see how it affects the story and all.

Okay, the passion part is always a go getter when we watch this dramas. I say there is passion here and there. They don’t seem to shy away from that provided they didn’t use stunt doubles to act it out but regardless the passion between the two leads were there in some scenes.

If these two are real life than it makes the whole thing all the more real which makes us as viewers swoon even more.

The cast are all lovely looking people. The leads are adorable and sweet together. But the fact that the female lead betrayed him for the majority of the episodes although she felt guilt she did betray him when he was finally opening and trusting people again. And the fact that that didn’t move the male lead too much, wow love can be amazingly strong some times in this fantasy world.

Although in the end the female lead try to win him back and I appreciate that fiery determination of not even caring if he was engaged. And the cliche tragedy of the lady after tirelessly winning him back but him not giving in because to protect her for some reason . She end up in a coma but woke up and they lived happily ever after. Very sweet romantic and adorable. Why not? I thought she might have a memory loss but thank god no.

I don’t know the betrayal of the FL made me annoyed at her. Makes the romance part so contradicting sometimes. So that factor kinda ruined the love part for me a alittle bit. But other than that, the story is alright. I might continue watching it just not for awhile.

Also the sister was a bitch in this show just to vent a little. But she end up alright in the end but whatever. She was a bitch in the start. Also the fact that she was a body guard I was hoping for some badass martial art protecting the weak. I didn’t see that as much so that’s a bummer. Didn’t truly fulfill that desired troupe.

An unconventional and unique historical drama.

I have more or less watched everything but bear in mind I didn’t watch it in full detail so it can possibly be a factor of my the outcome of my review.

First of all, 60 episodes. Is a lot. And don’t get me wrong if it is a show where it’s filled with all the different things I am looking for in a drama then it would more or less be something that I would enjoy watching and wouldn’t want it to end too soon. But I didn’t felt like I wasn’t enjoying watching this drama as much I would have hoped. But it is still a good show just not so much for me right now. It’s more of a lighthearted watch I would say for myself.

So 60 episodes is an overkill. Especially if it is has a complicated plot story then it would be hard to follow along for all the episodes and it would be impossible not to get bored or lightheaded.

I think the plot of the story wasn’t too complicated. It has the vibes of Mulan for the female lead which is something I always appreciate because seeing a female just kicking butt and being all badass like the female warrior Mulan is. It’s very empowering and just touching to see. As a woman naturally one would be to touched by this.

However the romance part is abit confusing I would say. There is passionate scenes more or less which is great of course makes the whole thing more exciting to watch. But, I believe that there is a bit of LGBT element in this show. It’s not subtle, it’s pretty obvious. Like for a second love interest for the female is a female. And even when this female found out that the female lead is a woman she was heartbroken cos like she thought it was a guy but even so she went ahead and tried to show her sincerity towards the lead and tried to hurt the male lead which then was the husband to the female lead.

There was no jealousy element in the female lead which is great but I have to say a little jealousy makes it more entertaining doesn’t it? Is it just me?

There are times where the female lead is completely fine with the male lead getting more concubines as though four women is never enough. Like she too want to partake in that. It’s a subtle flirting with the females but you can’t be too sure. Also, she was confused whether she was a guy or a girl in the very beginning but I figured it was because of the cross dress.

So I thought all this while the female lead might be bisexual also for the male there are times where males would flirt with him but he kinda stood his ground there but still LGBT element is still present.

Overall, it’s a very open minded show. With elements that I have never seen in other historical dramas. So if this intrigued you and your okay with the fact that you have to open your mind to the presence of additional elements here then you ll more or less enjoyed it.

I guess the whole thing took my by surprise so I was just confused due to the LGBT element kinda contradicts the romance element between the leads. But nothing wrong with that. I m all for the something new and different but this was a lot to take in.

But knowing that I might still rewatch this just not now.

Unexpected.

Okok let’s just talk about this show real quick.... I am going to try my best to keep it both simple and bluntly honest. So other viewers let’s not get into a heated argument if you disagree with me rather let’s open up an area of discussion :)

So first of all, I watched this drama fully till Ep 30+ I started to skim through till the end but hear me out! I know and have an rough idea of WHATS WHAT. I am rather impatient and hard to please when it comes to things like these because I have a preference or expectation that is something to be discovered when I watch these dramas. So the fact that I watch a 36 episodes in two days. In full. Is a new achievement for me. Nothing to be proud of but still :)

Anyways, back to the topic at hand. I am gonna try my best not to release much spoilers but. This drama have unexpectedly pleased me and created this whole other genre of preference that I didn’t even know I desired. The plot of the show was interesting, entertaining, intriguing and it made me in a state of anticipation every time I switched it on to watch.

Mmmm it’s not completely perfect but it was rather good, like really up there. The characters especially the second leads , have done a job well done. The female lead maid and her group of male friends she made in the barracks were my favourite second leads. They were adorable, witty, super loyal and supportive to the female lead who was like MULAN in this drama.

Although this female lead, her as an actress she seems small and fragile but in this drama she was strong smart brave loyal and trustworthy. She was able to win a battle by killing the opponent general with her martial art skills and some swordsmanship thingy that her later love interest gave to her although it was against the rules. You ll get it if you watch the drama.

At first I thought I would have some trouble following the drama with all the politics and what not but thankfully that didn’t happen oddly. Which makes me like it even more.

This story doesn’t only focus on romance but also on other important aspects that is important like friendship, loyalty, brotherhood, family. Those heart-warming things.

And can we talk about the love triangle in the drama. I can’t help but feel bad for the first male lead in the beginning cos he have to like love and protect the female lead from afar while she some what fall in love with the other male lead. Who BTW I don’t think ever truly loved her because he married someone else and I don’t care if he’s family was going to die if he go against the emporer edict. He could have thought of something instead of begging to asshole princess grandpa who is in fact the demon. And the princess is the demon granddaughter. She was a biatch.

I mean she means well cos she just really likes the second male lead but sabotaging and trying to do anything to harm the female lead was just an all time low and even if she’s a princess acting like a bully just shows that some who have power can do whatever they want with it even if it is against the law.

But like whatever. I mean the second male lead could have written back to the female lead about the marriage instead of living her in the dust and move on silently with alcohol like WTF. What a jerk. But other than he s poor relationship decisions he was actually a good guy and was a big contributor in carrying out the plan to take out the demon along with the male lead who btw is super smart and decisive and he s planning was top notch. Like he can predict what can plausibly happen and always end up just one foot forward than the villain. Total admiration really.

But hey when the female lead found out about the marriage the scene where she took out her hair and smashed the wedding bracelet in front of her EX WAS LIKE epic! She was a general, no princess can mess with her but making her concubine. I wanted to slap that bitch.

But whatever ofc, the love started to blossom with the leads and like Finally. But I seriously wish it didn’t take so long.

I thought the male lead was going to die because of some Poison but in the end he didn’t which was great because he lived happily ever after with his lover and had a daughter and awaiting a son in the last scene.

However the princess and the second male lead had a son. And well they both died which is great I m sorry. Like they meant to be together so May as well. The son was taken care of by the first leads and it seems there might be a little something something with the children in the future.

I like the oddly unconventional plot twist like the first male lead wasn’t physically strong he wanted to protect her but he couldn’t use martial arts to do so. So he used hes brains but the female lead was too dumb to see it at the time. It shows that you don’t need martial arts or physical strength to end up as a hero.

There’s a little gay element in this drama as well. Which was like oddly weird but definitely different so I like that. But it was some old crazy demon that had a liking with the first male lead not the female which was so different usually it’s the female leads are the pawns haha.

But don’t feel bad for him that crazy demon end up with some old crazy dude in some valley who is the female lead uncle May I add. So that worked out.

I just like that this actress wasn’t fragile, scared. She was strong and was ready to do anything for justice and to help people. Which is really what the story is also.

But they ended up defeating the devil and the devil granddaughter and husband so that’s good haha. Sorry have such resent for this two cos they were assholes to the first female lead. Whether they know or not the grandpa is the demon.. it runs through their veins so probably explains why.

The general who’s in his 40s and the second male lead sister falling in love was also a sweet love story but very subtle nothing too grand or saucy.

Oh yea, in terms of the sauciness it took so long for a kiss or progression between the leads but yea decently saucy but meh.

I have so much emotions and expressions when I watched this show. Like when the first female lead family died was like WHYYYYYYYYY?!?!!??!!! I think the writers wants to squeeze our hearts.

So overall good drama. Great job! I rarely praise a show like this so I mean it’s good. Would I watch it again. Sure! But not too soon cos it would lose that effect of impression it had on me and I want it to last because how often can I discover dramas that are decently good and I actually watch it fully. Not often.

Would I watch it again? Nope.

Alright bear in mind I have not fully watched all the dramas. I have only watched fully till episode 21. But that’s only because I was enjoying this drama and I didn’t want to see the main leads in trouble by the bitch that wants to brew up trouble.

Anyways, I kinda have an idea of what happened in the next few episodes so I will take it as that.

So the drama is relatively well done. The acting, the story, the casting was all decently alright. The romance and love between the leads are swoon worthy and the male lead piercing smile and gaze is pretty Wow. The acting of the female lead was top notch as well.

Overall, I may hold onto this and wait a little while before I finish this drama. But I may not watch it again only because it was a good drama, and I want to leave it as that. Who know I might watch it again way down the future. It’s like that feeling where ur so engrossed in the story that you just can’t be rewatching it again as it might lose the impression I have on the show.

Would I recommend it? Yes. There’s love, tragedy, youth, and alittle of a reality check as well. But it kinda shows simply that love conquers all. So who doesn’t like that?

Didn’t meet my expectations as much I have hoped and it was hyped.

Now this review on this drama is plainly based on my own preferences and views. Let’s not hate but discuss instead. I will share this review to simply move on from This drama and remind myself why I decided to move on from this show although it was on my watch list for a while now.

I ll keep it really simple. The romance between the two characters weren’t something that swoon worthy, it didn’t move my heart or made me tingle everywhere on my body instead, it had me fast forwarding to the next. I suppose the romance is sweet and loving and romantic. But if there is lacking the passion from both characters regardless of whichever scene then the chemistry between the leads would be lacking. And being the two main faces of the show, this can be so.

There is no love triangle in this show it turns out. I suppose here and there not having a triangle play out is fine but in a story which harvest such a troupe having a triangle makes the passion more fiery. But since both of those were lacking.

The cast was alright looking. Not something that had my eyeballs popping out when I was watching it. They all just looked adorable. Plus the male lead was in the modern drama my girl and it was hard to take him seriously in a historical drama such as this.

This drama had a lot of potential. It’s something that if they took longer to discuss and fix these minor details then maybe even someone as picky like me would have enjoyed it.

Don’t get me wrong it was decent but nothing I would Rewatch for a while.

Bear in mind the martial arts of the female characters is badass and that is always appreciated in my book. Also I feel in this troupe there can be even more drama if let be.

Would I rewatch this? Yea I probably would.

Just a disclaimer, this review is based on my views through focusing from episode 1 to 20+ But the rest would be skimmed through. Regardless, I think more or less, this might be worth a read.

The female leads character at first kind annoyed me however I admired her alot. At first people would think she’s narcissistic and arrogant but she has a big soft heart for the people that she loves. Plus the fact that she’s skilled in kicking butt, sassy and strong these are definitely a deal breaker.

The fact that she became general and the first female prime minister like 👍🏼. Also the love of her family and the love she has for them is adorable and very heartwarming.

Family, romance, mystery, betrayal and love. These keywords stands out for me the most. The plot can be complicated for some, I kinda had to focused on it since it is 40 episodes the fact that the story might be a little difficult to understand is not ideal. Because for those with short attention span such as I would be very easy to lose interest and either move on or fast forward which is wat i did.

Regardless, the story from a glimpse of it and a little of what I learnt. Is well though through and a good story. But maybe making a little easier to understand and manageable being that it has a a lot of episodes.

The sacrifice and protection of the leads because of their love for each other is of course very sweet and make you aww and pull at their little heart strings.

But I am disappointed at the lack of passion and chemistry once passionate scenes are enacted. The kisses are like stamps instead of a kiss. The chemistry and passion isn’t quite there as I hoped that would go well with the love they portrayed in the story.

So I likely would rewatch it, more in detailed and focused. Not now, but later. Got to get over the Lim minor disappointment first.

Well done! Have watched this drama twice.

I ve watched this drama twice. However I admit to skimming through on the first time and well the second time I skimmed through completely after episode 21? Nonetheless, I have an idea of what happened and should still be qualified to write a review yea? So instead of hating let’s open a friendly discussion and chat? :)

So I watched this drama somewhat thoroughly on my second watch. On the first time I did skimmed through but I was really just scouring for the highlights but this time my phone was glued to my face so I wouldn’t miss the main highlights of the show.

What can I say? It was a well done drama. It’s a good tv show. It’s romantic, lovely, heartwarming, decently passionate and oddly inspiring.

I mean this may be just a few word that I can describe this drama and my satisfaction of it right now but what more can I say? Except it was a good drama. It wasn’t exceptionally perfectly good but I mean what is? Right?

The story is a swoon worthy, romantic and loving love story between the main leads. Of childhood sweethearts finding one another once again after so many years. I mean the genuine love between the two was adorable and made me feel so many emotions at once it made my heart spin abit.

There is also love hate relationship at the very beginning for both main couple leads but that subside throughout the show as love started blossoming between them.

I mean the acting with the cast was ofc good. I am a fan of fair Xing. She is adorable witty smart courageous in this drama. Her character had a strong sense of justice and morality which is something that we can all learn.

There are elements of reality in terms of the interaction among the characters that some might relate in real life. But there are more elements that likely you don’t see very often in real life. Like the super sweet and almost cheesy romance and love the characters have with one another.

I mean a romance between a doctor and lawyer is such an ideal romantic pair up that in real life people reasonably hopes it might be true. But you don’t see it often or you just don’t know and this drama shows you a love story between this potential ideal couple profession.

Shows the troubles and hardship that both profession have to go through. Making us realise that from a laymen standpoint that is more than what meets The Eye when we first encounter a lawyer or a doctor. So we should all just be nice to everyone :)

The romance and passion, was good. The tension, passion and the Kiss scenes was well done. It really shows the passion with the characters sealing the deal between the two and just showing the passion that is still alive throughout their relationship. I mean for those believes like myself, that passion is a factor that pulls in anyone to a drama. Well it seems the characters here were well portrayed and their passion was well done. They weren’t stiff robots when they film kiss scenes like some other dramas. The actors were profession and skilled in making sure that passionate romance is been portrayed. Not just sweet love. ;)

I mean although the sweet and passionate love pulls one into this drama. The characters sense of justice, determination, perseverance in fulfilling their dreams and ambitions. Living the life they want to lead and be the person they wanna be and also work in a profession that they believe in.

I am a law student and after watching fair Xing portraying this trainee turn lawyer journey inspired and motivate me to get my butt Back up from the couch and actually get to work again. They don’t show the typical stereotypical stuff that lawyers are portrayed in the media but they kept it abit real in terms of the amount of work and time and energy that is placed in different cases and the sacrifices that one must make to fulfill their responsibilities to their clients same goes for other profession which is portrayed in this show.

Fair Xing character wants to do what’s right and fight for others. Not idly standing by and do nothing when in fact knows she could do absolutely something even if it’s risking her safety.

The supporting character were pretty good they weren’t a total bitch. They tried chasing the leads but kind gave up shortly after and became nice to the leads which is nice cos it’s exhausting constantly seeing somebody else ruining good people happiness ya know?

The cousin etc, were all adorable.

I felt pity for the male lead cos like he had to wait for her and willing to wait for god knows how long. How sweet is that? A little creepy at first cos he’s memory is only the little girl but again debatable. He got jealous but they reconciled after that little patch and were good after throughout which is good seeing constant crisis between the main leads are exhausting too.

After that you kinda naturally turn your attention to the other lead couple which I was rooting for so much almost as much as the main lead.

So would I recommend this? Yea. Considering you like what you see in this review. However some might see this drama differently so you can see for yourself what you think of it.

Would I recommend this? Sure maybe not soon but yes.

Definitely might rewatch it later in the future.

This drama was decently good. I have a feeling that I watch it again for two reasons. One, is I did skim through from the 21st episode till the end and might have missed minor crucial details but I get the brief idea of what kinda happened.

Two, it’s because it had rewatch potential. It is a good drama, the story is interesting and more or less entertaining. The love hate relationship between the leads is frustratingly annoyingly loving and when it blossom into something love and when both of them realised it. Was very swooning.

However, the kisses was rather forced and didn’t show the essence of the love that the two have finally opened up to each other. It just kinda looked that way. I mean I know they are actors and it ain’t real but the main purpose is for us the audience to feel like we literally watching a real story unfold before our very eyes. And it kinda did but the sauciness was a little disappointing because there was high expectations based on the little details here and there you pick up in the various episodes.

The male lead really suits this historical appearance and well the Actors and Actresses were well cast they all look suitable for the part. The main actress was of course adorably witty and she don’t mind acting a pig or something for her part which is great. I mean it would be great if she was a sword woman badass but she kinda still is without martial arts skills. She still was able to save everyone in the end even if it’s the cause of her own life.

The ending wasn’t necessarily happy. Kinda emotionally sad. I don’t really know what happened at the very end? Did he jump off the cliff or something with her? Or they fly up? Idk.

But the amount of flying was like wow?! It was so cool they were like able to fly here and there like nobody business then she should all be able to fly away when in a fight right? Hahaha idk how this works but they can fly and they did that a lot which was kinda amusingly cool.

The characters saving one another and when the leads were worried for one another if the other one dies or not was kinda sweet too?

The story has love, deception, betrayal kinda of a plot twist in terms of who the villain was. It has perseverance, fulfilling their dream or mission? Family and friendship. That’s nice as well.

Alright so in the end, the ending and the steaminess of the drama was disappointing but if your one that is not into those things or think they aren’t important in a drama then this drama might be for you?

I started watching these historical drama although I shunned the idea of it before and if your an amateur like me then this might be nice for you.
