Plot Convenience & Plot Armour embodied in a drama. Also quite a mess
Edit: now finished. What a mess this truly is. Backstory was a joke. The last few episodes were kinda ridiculous in my eyes. (Though I did like the gravestone-dancing scene lol). So I had to go down with the rating imo.Disclaimer: Own Opinion (the following is based on the first 22 episodes)
I just don't know what to say anymore to this show. Like it started of interesting and then went downhill.
Like if our main guy ever is in trouble you'll know within like 5 minutes he'll either level-up (reach a new realm), learn a new technique or a random grandmaster will appear who saves him. (Also the power scaling makes no sense sometimes, like you are in an RPG game level 70 and fight against a lvl 90, you lose; then you level up to 71 and now suddenly you can defeat the level 90, yet lose against every other lvl 80)
I feel like the drama could have been better if you removed the main male character. Like it is so ret**ded. It's like saying to someone let's do A, then you go ahead and do B and then get mad at the other person for not doing B, after explicitly having told them to do A prior to it. Sometimes I asked myself if they gave the main character a bipolar personality (as well he in fact is two; definitely two personalities). Also the words respect of propriety do not exist for our main guy, as well who cares about other people if you know you'll survive and even get a power-up if you are ever in trouble
Like even the male "villain" (or for someone people the saintess) in the first few episodes has not even reached the level of disdain I have for the main character. And then when Qin Lie ""protected"" (double quotation marks on purpose, it is just that bad) the sect I came so close to quitting this show.
As for the main female. I like the backstory (from what we know so far) and the fact that she is not overpowered (yet?) and thinks rationally.
Acting was quite solid for the most part, especially considering it's a younger and less experienced main cast.
As for the music I quite like Rock and it also fit the fighting scenes. However there is one soundtrack which just reminds me of Star Wars (you'll hopefully know the one I mean, can be heard within the first few eps). Along with the Space Ship battle in ep 22 I lost it...
Rewatch value... how about no. Just look for a different drama? Like I can withstand stupidity to a certain degree but like having to go through that struggle again.. not worth it.

Dealing with Stigmas
I truly like how the show deals with actually relevant topics that are often stigmatized even in today's society. You can find a lot of topics like premature ejaculation, STDs, and more being discussed.
But the best thing has to be their way to demonstrate certain topics. They do it by showing people who are currently experiencing that situation and those people look like any other ordinary human being you could randomly meet on the street. I feel like this makes the show a lot more relatable instead of having models performing those roles.
Also a lot of humor.
My favorite character has to be Cassandra especially in the episode where we see, where she clearly deifies a person, our lovely doc. Her pure gaze still got me tripping.
Still waiting for season 2 though, lol.

When age and mental capabilities don't match? Thus completely oblivious
Edit: There is only a certain amount of stupidity I can take and as such I have dropped this drama for my own health and the greater good. Any positive bias/hope I had for this show is long gone as well, so the rating dropped again, justifiably. So the female lead is supposed to be almost 18. Furthermore she grew up in the palace. Her mother told her to listen to her foster father, who explicitly stated she shouldn't reveal her identity.
Now I feel like under those circumstances it's reasonable to assume that an 18 y/o acts like an adolescent or even potentially an adult, yet her mental capabilities are still stuck at the level of a 10 year old for the most part.
Like once she leaves the palaces she does everything she shouldn't do.
And well then at other cases she seems like an erudite. (e.g. Temple scene) yet afterwards her intelligence recedes again to the level of well a 10 year old. (Gotta be honest some 10 year olds have more grasp on reality)
Also I've seen a lot of critic regarding Rebel Princess first few episodes, that the actress was too old making it cringy. Well to be honest I find every scene in WaToL where FL speaks with her high pitch voice (or rather the dubber?) way more cringy (in a bad way; like the high voice in girl like me is hilarious for a reason, however this show just baffles me). Like an 18 year old speaking like that is just absurd.
Well I suppose let's see what other **** she does.
Acting: let's not even talk about the female lead. Like she had a total of 9? main roles yet her acting is utter tr*** imo. Though I like the male lead.
edit: honestly with every episode I watch it just gets dumber. Like "Hey stranger, did you know I committed mass murder. But please no reveal, afterall we friends rite?"
update (ep11): So suddenly she also is able to perform a different cultures unique dance without any prior training. Makes sense. Definitely. Honestly, what a joke this is becoming.
