THE TITLE TAKES LEAD!
The title of this drama couldn't be any more perfect!
When normally we watch Thai dramas, we all know that there'll either be a charming-kind lead, an evil villain, extreme jealousy, heartbreaking plots, wholesome scenes etc. I, for one, watch Thai dramas at times to release my frustration or am in a dramatic mood. But when I started watching this drama, for fun, it ended up being the perfect combination of all. Each character portrayed by the actors and actresses was something understandable and reasonable. Nothing felt too extreme, it was just the right kind of Thai spice. We can understand why they had to go to those lengths and why they had thought of doing so. The plot was consistent, it flowed in such a way we could understand what was happening and why it was so. (Throughout this drama I had not skipped or fast-forwarded a scene. )
Title:
When talking about the title, they named it BAD ROMEO which couldn't be more perfect. We all know the Romeo and Juliet Shakespearean story, where we see the multiple deaths and heartbreaks behind their innocent but tragic teen-love story. This drama was kind of similar. The love of the leads resulted in many things they, later on, felt regretful about and many heartbreaks that can't be healed over time. It's a drama that portrays their undying flame which started in their youth, prolongs and continues for 7 years. the drama shows how it changed the trajectory of their lives and it affected everyone.
Plot & Acting:
The female lead wants to get away from her regular life so she asks her best friend to replace her for a few days. Within those few days, the FL goes through a lot and meets the male lead. They had a drunken night which resulted in her pregnancy. From there onwards, the main plot starts to unravel. The first few episodes we view of were wholesome. They were about their meeting and how they plan their life, the lead's romance and chemistry were simply beautiful. ( Mario and Yaya are such good actors, their acting in this drama moved me to tears and was exceptional! )Then later on as the plot starts to move forward, they go through multiple misunderstandings, hardships, heartbreaks and shocking secrets. It was a regular Thai drama but had just the right amount of everything. And while we are on the topic of acting, I have to say the villains( Kla's mother and Khim's father) of this drama were amazing. The supporting characters, second leads and everyone else's acting and their understanding and portrayal of their characters were really good.
Conclusion:
Overall this drama was a hidden gem and something I enjoyed. The acting complemented the great script and of course, the cinematography was superb too! Every moment of this show was enjoyable and entertaining.
I would most definitely recommend this to all those looking for a good romantic drama, who enjoy melodrama and are looking for a happy ending.
(note: the last episode is really cute!)
