I've found it, the best lakorn
This is the best lakorn I've ever watched. Truly an underrated gem. If you want to watch something romantic and dreamy with amazing chemistry, this is more than perfect.Characters:
Khun Adit is the uncle of Pit's fiancée Pimtong. He falls in love with Veerongrong at first sight when he sees her at a restaurant. He is mean to her because he believes she will steal Pit away from his niece. Tua Sarunyoo plays the role to perfection. He has amazingly expressive eyes. Tua can go from heartbroken to sinister through his eyes alone. He is snarky with a posion tongue, yet still somehow manages to be the most gentlemanly, charming, and warm pra'ek ever. I loved how whenever Veerongrong would get frightened she would run straight into Khun Adit's arms and bury her head into his shoulder. Adit in turn would protectively wrap his arms around her. Adit stands up against his grandmother without hesitation when she forbids him with Veerongrong.
Veerongrong is a young, level-headed lady who has just returned from studying in England. Adit's grandmother hates her because she's the spitting image of her younger sister Prabpreung. She's a strong character who stands her ground against the pra'ek and his accusations. Nampeung did an excellent job. Rarely do you see a nang'ek who can engage in an argument with the pra'ek and still keep her composure, her voice still calm and lovely even when she raises it. Nampeung has a good balance of innocence and maturity, and she was absolutely beautiful in this role.
Music:
This lakorn has the sweetest, most romantic theme song ever. Sung by the two leads, it is like an extension to the story and you can imagine it as the two leads singing to each other. It is played appropriately throughout the entire lakorn.
Rewatch value:
Infinite. I've been watching this lakorn on loop for a few weeks. When I finish it, I go back to the beginning and watch again.
Notable scenes *SPOILERS*:
Adit's proposal:
Veerongrong is crying about the situation with Pit. Adit, while dusting off his coat, casually says,
"Why do you have to be so sad? Just marry me~. They can get married. We can get married too. We can stay together at dome thong...forever."
Veerongrong responds with a wtf face. Bear in mind, they haven't known each other for long and Adit has been mean to her - this context makes the scene hilarious.
Veerongrong's Nightmare:
Veerongrong has a fever and she starts having a nightmare about the man in the top hat - causing her to thrash about and call out. Adit calms her down and sneaks a kiss in the process.
Confession and Acceptance:
Adit: Veerongrong...do you think...you'll like me a little bit? If, in the future we're married and get along. I won't force you, Veerongrong. I won't demand that you must forget Pit either. I love you. And I love you more and more with each passing day Veerongrong. I don't care about who you've loved before.
Veerongrong: Don't mention him again. He left my heart a long time ago.
*Pra'nangs share a big warm hug*
