A very good show for wasting your time on

The only reason why I am giving this show a 0.5 not a 0 is because I do not want to sound too harsh, and I still have to give the production group some credit at least for making something.

Seeing the rating at 8.2 on MDL from 4 mysterious users alone is alarming enough for me to write a review on this, that this garbage need no spread to more audiences other than me and the other 4 person on here.

Some will question why I am watching this if it is that bad. The fact is that I only watched 2 episodes of it, and I decided that it would be the best for me to drop this show.

First reason why this show is so bad, was how it attempts to hide away the diring situation the country was in during the 60s and 70s. How they sugar-coated plenty of the historical diplomatic situation between China and other countries is ridiculous. 60s till 70s is one of the darkest era in modern China history, with Cultural revolution taking place. Different sources suggest different figures of total death toll result from it, but they are all at the scale of millions. And this show is trying to sweep all those pathetic mistake being made by the CCP under carpet. Who the fuck cares about how many countries recognise you diplomatically, when millions are killed by the childish and idiotic political decision you made.

Okay, even if your show is patriotic, at least you can make it enjoyable right? But sorry, this show is the opposite to what an enjoyable show should be. For the three episodes, it is about the same thing: leaders of foreign countries coming to China, and praise Mao. That's all. The whole 40 minutes of an episode is about leader of a particular country simping Mao. That was the same for the 3 episodes I watched, and I can conclude that it will probably be the same for the rest of the show.

The acting is dull as hell. When you have a bunch of 70 years old politicians using turtle speed of speech to communicate, and every lines they say are flat without emotions, as well as the only acting to be expressions of approval for Mao, you can see how boring this is. Even the drama play back in my primary school time was more interesting than this.

To conclude, if you are those patriotic CCP members, you will love this. Sadly I am not one of those, and I am sure 99% of the remaining of the non Chinese communities are the same.
