It's a good story, and it kept me entertained but...

... if you expect it to be like the BU, you'll be disappointed. I was very disappointed, I love the BU, and I've read and watched everything that is available, so I've been very excited about this series for years now... unfortunately, the series do not follow the original story. They take things from here and there, but they change a lot of things and skip/add things. Some things they add felt unnecessary.

I was very disappointed by Kim Jooan's (Taehyung) and his father's relationship, and the relationship they had.
But I was very satisfied with both Park Haru (Jimin) and Jeon Jeha's (Jungkook's) families and those story lines. I was on the other hand disappointed by the reason Cein was expelled, in the original BU, he ended up in trouble to protect Jeha (Jungkook), but they went a different route in this series.

I also felt like it was rushed, and the way the boys bonded felt equally as rushed, as if they bonded just because they had to for the sake of the plot. I never got that impression from the BU. The only ones I felt had somewhat of a chance to bond were Dogeon and Jooan (Namjoon & Taehyung), and Hwan and Cein (Jin & Yoongi). I loved those scenes with Dogeon and Jooan in Episode 1 and the scene with Hwan and Cein in Episode 2.

Episode 1 and 2 were both great episodes, because they focused a lot on the boys friendship, and I feel like we needed more of that before we introduced all the boys' struggles. Right now I feel like they more often faught than actually had fun together.

About Haru and Hosu (Jimin and Hoseok), the way they went with convincing the audience they are great friends was "all tell not show". They kept telling the audience what great friends they are instead of really showing us, because most of the time Haru tried to avoid Hosu.

So was the series bad? No, not at all, I did enjoy it if I tried to not compare it with the BU. But was it great? No, it wasn't great either. We need more happy scenes with them actually having fun together... we espeically need Hwan (Jin) to have more fun with the boys. I know they tried to convince the audience that Hwan cared about the others but I ended up wondering why he cared so much.
And the way they include the timeloop's twist so late, it made things yet again feel so rushed.

And there wasn't a satisfying ending, so we'll have to keep our fingers crossed for a season 2.

I would recommend it, it's worth watching, the actors really helped making the experience better, they are great! But nothing I would rewatch myself.

I really recommend watching this series for many reasons:

All the actors and actresses are great and they fit the characters so well. They all made me cheer, cry, hate and love them.
Even if the main lead, Saeroyi, was annoying at times, the actor, Park Seo-Joon, is amazing in the role. My favorite character, one of the main female lead; Jo Yi-So, who is played by Kim Da-Mi is a perfect fit too.

The music is one of the best in any kdrama I've ever watched, so many good ones, and it worked with the story as well and never felt like an odd choice.

When it comes to the story, I loved to watch the story of how cruel life can be, and how we never should give up fighting for what we believe. I love how our main character learns what's important in life. The only thing that makes me not give the story a higher score is because of all the love triangles I realized I didn't really care about. It made me annoyed many times how characters kept loving people that clearly wasn't good for them. When watching, I felt like a lot of the love didn't make sense. Why does she/he loves this person? It felt like they just loved for the sake of it, to cause drama. But other than that, this series is a roller coaster, and I loved every episode.

The beginning of this series was really good, and I binge watched the first 5 episodes or so, because I really thought it was an interesting story... unfortuantely, it got worsa and worse... the students quickly got on my nerves to the point it got exhausting watching them. But the female teacher was probably the most annoying one of them all.

But although the characters were annoying, the acting is really good.

It took me over a month to watch the last 3 episodes , because it was just not interesting anymore and everything I wanted to know, I already knew by then, more or less. And the very last episode was the most disappointing one of them all. Very anticlimax.

The story was great, and I cried many times, I loved the characters and the only reason I don't give the story a 10 is because it was a bit too long. I wouldn't have mind it if they’d made it a bit shorter; not much, but a little shorter.

The acting is great, and they make the characters believable, a reason I cried so many times was because of the actors. I rooted for them.

The music is not bad at all, but it's so repetitive, I quickly got bored of hearing the same songs over and over again... and I normally don't pay much attention to the music...

I don't find the series particularly rewatchable because the reason I wanted to watch it was to see how it all ended, and now when I know, I don’t see the point of rewatching it... but if a friend wants to watch it with me in a few years, I definitely do it, because it was a great series. I just won't watch it again by myself.

But all in all, the story is the most important thing to me, and I loved it, so I'll give it an 8 in overall. The repetitive songs and the fact that it was a bit too long are the only complaints.
