Expected to ride a roller coaster but got on a merry go round
I felt 0 suspense while watching, just mild interest in what comes next. Most characters are so flawed that they are unrelatable to even the most remote degree. I will finish the drama eventually, but aside from the male detectives and the child of the leads, I found every character detestable, which I actually commend the actors on. They acted so well that I was frustrated by how stupid their actual characters were and the choices they made. The only saving grace is the romance and the romance between the ML and FL is so far from healthy I am morbidly curious as to how the drama resolves their story. It'll likely be a cookie cutter happy ending though because Koreans seem to be against sad endings.Temper your expectations. The underlying plot is honestly not that great.
Overrated.

Kdrama version of a sweet snack
If dramas were meals, the really good ones like Hospital Playlist, Prison Playbook, and Move to Heaven are balanced meals. They provide you all the nutrients a body needs while also making you feel full. Her Private Life is a slice of boring chocolate cake. Low in nutrients, sweet, and delicious. It doesn't make you think. The relationships are basic. Plot is nothing special.
But it is fun. There are tons of things to nitpick about this drama. Critics eviscerate it rather easily. But if you want to turn your brain off and just be enamored by romance, this is a good drama to watch.

This series haunts me
It's been a few days since I've finished this series. In that span I have binged Move To Heaven and Oh My Ghost, both excellent shows in their own rights. But My Mister truly haunts me.It is a gripping tale of depression, suffering, pain, catharsis, forgiveness, and peace. I was so immersed with the featured neighborhood and the characters that I did not want it to end. When it did, I was left a hole in my heart which I long to fill. I have so many questions regarding what happened to the main characters after the last episode, but as in life not all questions are answered outright. Most times, you just have to figure it out for yourself.
I stay up late at night thinking about the question "Have you found peace?" I pray that the day will come when I will be able to confidently say Yes.
Give this a watch. You won't regret it.

Amazing in spurts, but the last three episodes killed the main romance.
There are moments in this series that are truly amazing. Moments that will make you cry, moments that will make you giddy, and moments that will make you laugh out loud. I was completely hooked on it in spurts. During those spurts this drama is one of the best I have seen. Unique plot for the leads, minimal to medium amount of cliche for the other couples, and the catharsis from some moments is just breathtaking. At the end of episode 11, I was so happy I was fist pumping a la Michael Jordan because of the ending which was a first for me when watching Korean Dramas. But the last 4 episodes absolutely killed the the main romance for me. The ending of the main romance and how the story got there completely wrecked the foundation that the prior episodes provided. Such a shame. If you are interested in watching the drama, consider episode 12 as the last episode, and look at the last four episodes as bad follow-up movies they should not have done.
Is this series still worth watching? Absolutely. Just be warned that the main romance fizzles quickly from a cute and unique budding romance at the halfway point of episode 13, into a toxic and dangerous sewer by the middle of episode 16.
