NEXT LEVEL masterpiece

I absolutely have no words if you really haven't watched it yet or even considered. This drama is hands down the best kdrama of the year.

Acting:
NEXT LEVEL. I remember Moon Chae Won from her ''Innocent Guy'' Days and her performance back then was already good, but her performance in this drama. I am speechless, maybe she's even the best actress I know. You really feel with her when she's sad or happy and how she just acts every scene like SPOT ON and really cries with her heart, as if she's going thru herself (even heard she lost some weight throughout the episodes because she really was into her role). QUEEN. I hope that she gets more recognition and good roles because GURL SHE CAN ACT!!!

Lee Joon Gi was also very outstanding as the female lead. I was baffled how well he played his role since it is so difficult to have those cold eyes but idk happy aura with you. Furthermore was the FL and he really on one acting level, they weren't actors who played the role. THEY WERE THEIR ROLE.

And then Baek Hee Sung. Wow. Just WOW. I was sincerely really scared of him. Especially when he killed his maid. I was just sitting there, my hands covering my mouth and motionless. He was so good, that I cannot even imagine him being kinda normal. This role was so perfect for him and the directors couldn't get anyone better for the role.

I cannot praise the cast enough, because it was such an outstanding performance! The cast was perfectly and carefully selected. They didn't choose anyone who couldn't act or wasn't on this drama's level. HECK, even Baek Hee Sung's parents were so good like I legit cried at the ending scene (ep.16) when the dad went nuts.

Story:
Normally I'm really not into Thrillers and Mystery. I'm a sucker for romance, but the storyline got me hooked from episode one and I just couldn't stop watching. No plot hole, no questions, straight-up genius, and well-thought drama. It is a drama for everyone. Thriller, Mystery, Drama, and Love.

Music:
BEAUTIFUL. It matched perfectly the drama's vibe and intensified some scenes very well. Even just listening to 'Shin Yong Jae - 'Feel You'' makes my heart feel so painful. HONESTLY. Song with emotion and pain.

Rewatch Value:
I don't like to rewatch dramas, but I'd do an exception for this one.

All in all, it is just outstanding. No other words. OUTSTANDING. People watch this drama and do yourself a favor. I don't even understand why this drama didn't skyrocket when it was as good as The World of the Married. SIGHHH. But well nevermind. Both amazing

Move your butt and watch this masterpiece

Most realistic Japanese drama I've watched so far.

Ok I gotta admit, that it is not so hard to get that title, since many Japanese dramas tend to be overacted and the plots make no sense, but Chugakusei Nikki. HOLY.
A crush, which turned into love between two people which is forbidden. I have to agree when thinking bout some minor getting together with someone 10 years older. A pass for me and they showcased it on the show really well on what the consequences are and how the world nowadays works.
There was no sugar coating or anything. Just two people who yearn for each other, have to pay for it but found their ways in the end.

Acting:
Arimura Kasumi acted so natural and raw. She never exaggerated and portrait her character really well. Okada Kenshi was sometimes a bit too tough. It was good and appropiate, but sometimes it was a bit stiff (rarely).

Please watch this! It is quite underrated, but soooo freaking good and has only idk 10 episodes or so. Okada Kenshi is also such a snack. Recommend it to those people who want a realistic but romantic and pure love story.

My fellows I rarely write a review EVER, but this movie deserves one....

If I am saying that I have not cried that much in 5-7 years then I really mean it.
I am not talking bout light flakey tears, I am talking bout sobbing, non stop rivers of tears.
So if you are down for a emotional ride and a good cry. Here you go.

Got this movie recommended and thought it would be fun to watch as a time killer. Oh boy was I wrong.

The main and side characters are all so pure, innocent, genuine and kind-hearted.
I love it the most, when people are considerate, understanding and patient. This movie was the definition of it.
The story is so natural and refreshing, the actors and actresses. MY GOD. THEIR ACTING.... M-A-S-T-E-R-P-I-E-C-E!

It is a true delight and I am very grateful for the director and everyone involved in this movie, because it might be my favorite movie in maybe 4 years? Everything is a built up of a perfect end result.

I finished it 10 minutes ago and my feelings are still very raw and I aam still slightly overwhelmed.
It literally awakened so many feelings I have not felt in a long time.

I just read that many people rated it relatively lowly, because of the ending.
But guys honestly the ending is maybe 10 minutes of the whole movie.
There are 1h and 50min left to enjoy fully, which are so worth it.

Idk if you can even call it a review, but this is what I felt and I think I should share it with you guys.
If you are down for an emotional awakening, this movie is IT! Especially when you have been very numb for a long time.

If you have plans later that day and want to meet friends after the movie I totally not recommend. Your eyes will be very red and you will feel MANY emotions.

Crying a river (worth it tho)

Guys, normally I really do not like Japanese dramas, because they tend to be really overdramatic, unnatural (especially the acting GOSH) and the plot is really exotic.

BUT THIS DRAMA.
It really hit me. The development of each character was so phenomenal and heartbreaking. I loved how the whole family grew closer, had such a strong bond, and tried to remain positive the entire time. But you also saw how human and in pain the family was sometimes because they saw how Aya physically changed from time to time. That dude who was in love with the FL (ik he's not real but still), he went from emo to loving and caring boyfriend, who stayed by her no matter what.
And then Aya...
Gosh, that girl went through so much. It was even more painful since you know that some scenes really happened. She went from light, sporty, active girl to mature, cheering, and positive women. Her development was tough, but in the end, I could feel that she was kinda at peace with her disease and herself. She also cherished her family very much.

What is also mentionable, every ending of an episode. As if I don't cry enough throughout the episode, the end always gave me the last kick. It just makes me so sad and emotional to see real Aya's notes and pictures. Dudes if you don't cry and cherish life more in the end, no words.

Acting:
Phenomenal. It was so freaking good. Ok I have to admit the FL father was sometimes a bit too hyper for my taste, but I lived in Japan so I kinda understand where it's coming from. The rest of the cast just got me every single time, I really believed every single situation they went through and really felt when they were happy or sad.

Music:
Fits perfectly to every scene. It is so beautiful that I still listen to it when I think of that drama. Just makes the drama even sadder than it already is sometimes.

Guys. Please watch that drama. It is not fake or anything. It is just so raw and pure. It is for everyone who wants to have good cry and lost orientation in life or so.

What in the world?

I started the drama with little expectations since Japanese dramas are usually very short, a bit rushed, the plot a bit too cliche, and the acting very unique.
After watching the first episodes I was pleasantly surprised! I really liked that this drama focused on Japanese sweets, culture, and in general their meanings. The characters were also kinda relatable and interesting.

Nao/Sakura is thanked god portrait as a strong girl, who cares about people, but also follows her own luck and has her own mind. Sakura was powerful but secretly also vulnerable, which made her human and likable. You could always understand her intentions and feel for her. Tsubaki is the typical cold guy, who is secretly very sensitive and seeks for attention from his family, nothing new but also not boring.
All in all, I was really satisfied with their acting, it didn't seem fake or too much.

BUT OH BOY, from episode 6-8 everything went so rushed and I had no fucking clue what I am even watching. It went from one storyline to another? I don't want to spoil too much, but damn I cannot even process what happened in the second half of episode 8, it didn't even make sense to me. I mean actually a lot didn't make sense to me (e.g. Mr. Takigawa's reason to help Nao (before he got exposed)), but the whole Takigawa exposure and then Naos and Tsubakis cringy love scenes. I'm sorry, but episode 7-8 just ruined the whole series for me.
The beginning (ep. 1-4), had plot holes but was acceptable. The storyline was interesting and the love story was kinda questionable, but still at some point 'natural'.
The middle (ep. 5-6), had a lot of plot holes and you really could feel that the directors were under pressure and couldn't figure out how to put everything into 2 episodes.
The end (ep. 7-8), pure disappointment. You get your happy ending OK, but EXTREMELY rushed, nothing makes sense and in the end, you are left with one question ''why did I even bother if it'll end like that?''.

The soundtrack is really cute tho, it kinda fits sometimes and there's nothing to not like about it.
My advice is, watch it if you have no drama to watch, but if you have better plans, better skip that one. You can watch it but don't have to. Nice story bout Japanese candies, but you can definitely do better with other dramas.

Nice from the inside, bad from the outside

Cast, Acting, Visuals, Story are ok. Nothing too cringy and for those days when you looking for the typical weak girl, strong boy Drama.
BUTTTT!
What bugged me the most is how they put the Drama together (FOR REAL?)
The scenes were abruplty cut and didn´t blend well. I only realized then how to actually appreciate good camera and cutting work.
EVEN THE MUSIC was misplaced and DID NOT fit into the situation.
Girl is talkin bout some serious stuff and you play some type of happy music in the background one would play during winning some card game LOL?? AINT IT.
You cannot say it´s only me who noticed that....

NEVERTHELESS it is by far not the worse Drama, it is quite watchable and cute.
But nothing special, if my Friends would ask me for recommendations, I´d definitely forget this one.

Ok so I just finished this drama and I think that it was overall good.

Plot: That was such a ride OMG. I mean the plot was really reaaallyyy reeeeaaallly dramatic like omg it reminded me of those Indian Drama Memes..... but I really like the character development of the male lead (from being super revengeful to understanding or trying to be a better person). Also I was everytime so shocked with the male leads acts, like in that moment I didn’t expect the kiss and in the other the betrayal and all. This dude was really not predictive. And this the female lead was very kind and adorable but knew when to stop.

Music; I mean it was ok, but the Soundtrack sometimes didn’t really fit to the scene. Almost every act of the male lead was portrayed as bad although he was pretty pure at this time.

Acting: I had nothing against it. The actors/actresses tried their best but I never had the urge to cry with them tbh. I just wanted to watch all the drama and see those lovey dovey scenes.

Scenery (don’t know how to call it):
I think that the scenes were sometimes weirdly cut. Some mini parts were missing, so the audience had to jump into a scene which happened like 5seconds after. I don’t know if you get what I mean. But the scenes don’t go perfectly or smoothly into each other, they rather seem harshly cut. But just at few scenes and not too dramatic, but nevertheless ruined the mood in the scenes sometimes...

Rewatch Value: I’m overall not the type of girl who watches a whole drama again since I already know the plot. That’s why I rated it relatively low. I rewatched some episodes of “Ashes of Love”, “Well Intended Love” and that’s basically it.

OVERALL I would recommend you this drama if you like MUUUUCCCH drama and many slapping scenes (they slapped each other so often that it became funny to me). Besides that the actors also try their best to portray many emotions decently.

I know I might exaggerate, since I´m just at episode 8.
But it´s been a long time since I´ve seen such a chinese quality drama. The story line is so far really cute and not cringy or bad at all! I´d even say that it is my favorite chinese drama beside ´´Ashes of Love´´. Of course one cannot compare those dramas, but ´´Put your head on my shoulder´´ doesn´t have this mainstream characters almost every chinese dramas have.
The main girl is THANK GOD not cringy, loud, noisy or annoying at all, she is actually a typical girl who had her first big love for the wrong guy.
I also like the male protagonist, of course he is a bit mainstream in the beginning. I mean he is the typical cold, handsome guy who is not that social and nevertheless pretty good in school. But his character development is really awesome. One can see that he opens himself every episode a bit more, because of the female protagonist.
What I also adore is that he really doesn´t try to force her to like him, he really waits for her and let her process her feelings for the other guy.

The music is something I don´t really pay attention to, but it seems like it fits to every single scene so I have nothing to criticize. It is nothing special :)

The acting is great.I did not expect such ´´natural´´ acting skills. It seems like the actors and actresses are really in their role and they play the story as if it´d be real. The acting is so good that I feel the pain, happiness and sadness through every gesture etc. they make. The chemistry between the female and male main character is perfect. They really fit to each other.

All in all I would definitely recommend this drama. NOT CRINGY AT ALL! Chemistry on point and very sweet story. I would watch it again and again. It is definitely worth it guys!

I know I’m only at episode 8. But let me tell you it’s so good that I’m neglecting my studies for my history and English final exam , which is in a couple of days.

The story is realistic and the characters are quite realistic and sincere. I really adore the the healthy relationship between the sister and brother. Furthermore are the characters also not melodramatic and annoying everything’s well done. Especially the acting is quite good! I totally recommend this drama you won’t regret it.
