I love the cast! Each one fits perfectly on whatever character he or her portrays. I'm not much fan of Chinese movies but this one serves as an exception. :)
Not gonna make it long. In short, YOU JUS GOTTA WATCH IT.
I recommend it to anyone who's fond of comedic antiques and anecdotes. :)

I know you guys would probably skip my review since there are lot of reviews about it and the series' posters look awesome and promising for those planning to watch it but I don't care. lol haha I just feel like writing one. I honestly just finished it like 2 minutes ago. (w/c is ironic cause you don't care anyway) But man, the feels! They're killing me.
Ok, so here it goes. *whew* ~
I love it. It's so... revolutionary! ... So bold! CLAP CLAP HAHA
But kidding aside, it's one heck of a whirlwind drama.
When the show was like still on the news and over-all new - slash - fetus stage, I was like meh, kay, I'll "try" to watch it. Almost anyone in this world is probably aware of the plot. Even I but I won't put that into scenario cause that would just probably ruin the whole point of an uhmm... unprejudiced report.
Got any tissues? The review is only beginning.
K here it goes again.
The story. If I were a newbie who's not very fond of Kdramas, JDoramas, TDramas (Tdramas?!), I would probably get hooked with them if I watch this drama. The story's simple. Basic. Maybe a little too basic for that part. It's about a girl who falls in love with a guy out of her league. Stereotype, I know right. But that's just what anyone can relate to. I mean, we all fall for some crush beyond our reach. Everyone in this world has likely fallen in that bittersweet phase of lurve. We are only humans after all. Uhm, to make it more simple, ItaKiss is like Princess Hours, sending feel-good sensations to every hopeless romantic out there. It's similar in a way that it makes us reminisce on those what-if moments. What if my high school crush turned out to be the love of my life? What if I get to be with the hottest guy/gal in school? It makes us remember those fluttery feelings of the heart. And that what makes ItaKiss special.
As for the casting, I couldn't agree more. Miki (Aihara Kotoko) brings happiness to the screen whenever she appears. She's like the epitome of all Japanese girls. She's a blast :) As for Yuki (Irie Naoki) well, he's a handsome lad! They look too good together. As a fan of the show, I like did a little research on the actors playing cause they were really good and I just learned that they were 10 years apart. IMAGINE! TEN TEN TEN YEARS APART! And I did some searching on other sites cause I can't believe myself. But then I just had to cause well, it's reality. But who'd knew right? I mean, Yuki's just too adorable for his age and I might as well say, he's the epitome of all Japanese men SO does age really matter? HECK NO HAHA! As long as the chemistry's right, it's okay. But I gotta note that I worship the female lead for having to act with a tall, handsome, okay maybe perfect Japanese actor (WHO BTW SPEAKS FLUENT ENGLISH). I was like, "Isn't that intimidating?" lols but then I thought, WORK IT, SISTER! YOU GO GIRL HAHAHA (she's so luckyy :3)
Overall, they fitted flawlessly in their respective parts. Everyone did. I gotta admit, it's one of the best castings around. :) Yuki's subtle, Miki's sweet, the mother OH GOSH WHO WOULDN'T LOVE HER, the little brother and his arrogance, the plump father and the list goes on and on. I like how they put emphasis not just on the two leads but to everybody. You can obviously see each character's progression. That's just really lovely cause it polishes the story even more.
As for music, the OST is just totes awesome! There's like this opening sequence in every episode and sigh~ it's just toooo cute! Watch the series but mind you: ONE DOES NOT SIMPLY SKIP THE OPENING SONG. HAHAHAHA
As for the instrumentals, well, Japanese makes the best of them. I couldn't agree more.
Rewatch Value! Uhm 10. Cause it's GV. GV EVERYWHERE (As you can see, I'm rushing toward the end. So sleepy grr)
And for the overall, BIG TEN. I GIVE IT TWO THUMBS UP. MAYBE FOUR, INCLUDING MY FAT BIG TOES. But then again I'll look stupid if I raise them up. But anyhoo, you just can't not love ItaKiss no matter how numb, frozen, anaesthetized being you are (WHAT ARE YOU? SOME TIN MAN FROM OZ? GOSH! IT'S THE 20TH CENTURY, SPREAD THE LOVE PEOPLE). If I were to watch ItaKiss for the second or the third or the fourth time around, I would fall in love with it all over again. It's like Hana Kimi or Kung Fu Hustle... goes better every single time.
So zzzzz... That's me sleeping. Some of you probably spent minutes reading my review. Thanks. Though it wasn't much of a review since I myself can't proclaim I'm a critic. But words cannot just plainly describe the feels of this too good a series. So if you want to know more about it, you got no choice but to watch it baby ;)
Till next time~

But anyway, this movie's good. I got it the first time I watched this. I wasn't expecting much though (since I was little and all and watching it was sort of an accident (long story)). In the end, I wasn't disappointed. The acting's great. And I can't believe I shipped the love story of the two leads. Yep, you heard it right, there's a love story waiting. Plot's likable (if you're into weird and out-of-the-ordinary scenes).
Not gonna make it long :). It's not that bad of a movie to kill time. In fact, you might even like it just like I did.

I wonder why it didn't hit much on popularity around here. But thank gawd, netizens loved it as much as I did!
I was recently browsing on some dramas and Reply 1997 didn't really catch my attention at first. It all looked pretty much school-themed to me at one glance and it seemed too typical of a genre. But then there weren't too many dramas with positive reviews airing at that time so I thought I'd give this one a chance.
And the hours finally paid off! The drama caught me off-guard. I never realized how deep each episode really was. It was unlike any other drama at all. The casting was great and it was inevitable to watch it because there's practically a cliff-hanger by the end of each episode.
The drama was enticing to watch because it revolved not only on one angle. It featured the story of other characters. It wasn't anything annoying at all because it didn't focus primarily on romance. I loved the fact that they balanced the whole series. We had enough of rom-com genre and Reply 1997 provided the face of what Kdramas nowadays lack. It was good to see the development on each character. As the storyline progresses, their characters, too, develop. It mad me appreciate even more the way their culture changed throughout the years. The actors embodied the usual personas people wanted them to have. And they (no doubt there) nailed it.
When it comes to the cast, it's perfect. THE ACTING WAS AWESOME. They weren't trying hard to be funny at all. Because they are! ;) haha
I was never really engrossed with KPop or what so reading swoons and praises (on the comments while watching) directed to the popstars acting out their roles were kind of intimidating. It led me to researching these actors one by one. I figured out in the end that each was particularly good in whatever field they excelled in. It was comforting not to know these actors at first hand so that I wouldn't be giving a biased review on the series. If it weren't for Reply 1997, I wouldn't have watched an authentic, raw and down-to-earth drama revolutionized by pure Korean talent. Kudos to the actors and actresses! Especially to the leads for excellently portraying the Busan accent and promoting the new and hip 'satoori' culture as they call it in Korea. :)
Great cinematography. No dragging moments. The way they showed the series was supposedly confusing since they shifted the scenarios from past to present and vice versa. Nevertheless, it didn't confuse me at all. While watching, I was silently praying it to actually have an ending that won't suck. (I'm a sucker for happy endings ;)) Reply 1997 exceeded my expectations, though. It was unlike any ending I've encountered. And frankly speaking, I don't know where to situate and compare this piece to any drama I've known. Truly, the drama's one of a kind.
Cable dramas are slowly taking the stage. I'm glad TvN's making a name. I recommend this drama to uhmm... anyone? Probably because I believe that anyone or everyone for that matter, will love it. Watching it is like taking a step backwards and admitting the loveliness of nostalgia. Reply 1997 took me back to my roots again HAHA!
Love, love love... SPREAD THE LOVE PEOPLE! HAHA! I highly recommend it! :D

I've watched the anime version and I gotta admit, I was hooked. I had great expectations for the live action movie since I knew well where the story was going. There's no denying that the love story of our comedic couple varies greatly from what we are used to.I was really happy with the casting. Both leads were exceptionally beautiful with the characters they're portraying. I mean, they look like human animes. But then again, it's Japan so what do you expect? ahahaha When it comes to acting though, err not much of a fan. They could have done better. Like in Riza's case, she should try lessening her hand gestures LOL |spoiler alert: IT'S OBVIOUS SHE LIKES MOVING| I recon other JDoramas and their respective actors and actresses. I think to myself, "Well yea, they tend to overreact a little bit. So no biggie." As long as it doesn't ruin the plot, it's okay.
I like the pacing. Fast. Though I would very much like to have a live action series rather than a compacted movie. There are many comedic scenes omitted. And those lovey-dovey scenes too! (oh gosh which BTW were so adorable in the anime version)
I'd love to see Riza's makeover. Other characters' progression. And many more.
I wish Japan would make a full length series out of it. I mean, how hard can it be? (lol so easy for me to say but why not hahaha) Itazura Na Kiss has done a makeover on itself. And it's a helluva better version OUT OF ALL IT STARTED WITH A KISS SERIES IN THE WORLD.
But overall I like the story. Laughed with the special addition. (Guess who!) Love the actors and actresses playing. Am somewhat bitter on the "acting" part. And umm... Maity! Dear Gawsh! Why I mean why is maity like that?! SORRY... And umm... well, my opinion doesn't matter really. You better watch it and say for yourself. Like I said, I've watched the anime so there's still a tinge of bias in me.
Many people hated it. Can't say I have reached that point. Fortunately. It's not bad as it sounds.
It's a likable, so-so, feel good movie. Worthy of every LoveCom (hopeless romantic) fan out there. PLus it's funny. Come on!
At least for me LOL :D HAHAHAHA

ahahhahaha kidding aside, I found this drama terrible (I'm so sorry! I know I'm sorry) *preparing my back for SHINEE fan attacks*
The show started of soooo well. It was like really good. I traded my Thursdays and Fridays' two hours for this shiz and i was nawt impressed. They really hit it off with a great cast. like omg sulli! omg minho! etcetera Everyone's a flowerboy which is expected and i guess that's just the missing link on why i kept watching the drama.
Off to the review! yadayadayada
You know the feeling where you eat spaghetti and you get a bunch of strands like okay i can eat this but then the strands don't stop coz they're too long. you just keep slurping and eating and wondering to yourself when you're gonna swallow and chew it all up. But you can't! That's just like this drama, and Big and a few other dramas that are not worth mentioning because of the heartbreak you've realized after wasting a few good 16 hours for a 16-episode minidrama. (i crey)
Basically, it's a fan series FOR. THE. FANS.
Sulli and Minho had chemistry. okay that's a given. They were almost perfect. But Almost is never Enough. (quoting Ariana myqueen) there were no sparks!!!! i flipped my ipod over and over. Perhaps there were scenes that are really unnecessary for the character progressions of both leads. I crey. I'm looking forward to their acting though in the future.
As for the other characters. ugh. I found none of them the lil bit interesting except for Eun Gyeol who swept me off my feet like the way he bounces his half-soccer-shaped hair. Perhaps he's the only one who actually made the story smart i dunno. The others? well, not so much. They're typically designed to beautify the screen. Perhaps a lil less on the beautification and a lil more on the storyline, TTBY is good to go.
OHMAYGAHD i almost forgot. i have to make an exception for Kwanghee too. he's adorbs.
And your lipstick, i just gotta have it!!!! lol
The ost is ah-mazing. yea rock-on! Esp that one that plays usually on a "cliff-hanger" (I PUT THE QUOTATION MARKS INTENTIONALLY idk maybe ughh they're not really that intense i dunno) I'm usually one who downloads osts after watching a drama. It's Me by Sunny and Luna is still here on my playlist (yay!!!)
Re-watch uggh okay i'll be generous i give you 1.0
Over-all i gave it a 3.5. It's not so bad to kill time if you really plan to ''kill'' time (evil laugh). I gave TTBY 3 initially but mydramalist happened to have this '.5' in their new feature like okay, let's add '.5' to make it a 4 but not really a 4 cause it's somewhere near 3.
'.5' is like some sort of charity idk
I REALLY LOVEDDDDDD THIS DRAMA BUT HUHUHU I ALMOST DROPPED IT BECAUSE IT CONTINUED TO DRAG ON AND ON AND ON AND ON... AND YOU GUESS IT,... AND ON..
Whyy??!! They had the perfect cast. Almost perfect. But just like King Skyes and Queen Grande had suggested it ''Almost is Never Enough''
This doge is too dramatic. I just had to get this off of my chest. I still love you Minho and Sulli and Rachel Tan!!!! I love you guys! HWAITING!!
