So underrated, worths more!

This is the 2nd kdrama I've watched where Ji Chang Wook is the main character and I loved it as well. It was so full of intense feelings. He can reflect all the pain/happiness etc so good and the rest of the cast had the same energy (+their chemistry) which was ideal.

As for the plot, firstly this type of documentary/interview was so unique compared to other dramas. All this "everyone's possible to be connected" scenario is so realistic. You never know who you'll meet or if your paths will cross each others again. The uncompleted (summer) love is the second realistic case. Ppl suppress their feelings often, are feared to express or trust their heart and sometimes the timing is so wrong.

The ring situation reminds me of a very personal experience and it broke my heart. I knew exactly how she felt and why she had it saved.

As for the other two couples the first one is based on a slow burn/"waiting for you till the right moment" which is so innocent and cute (I'm so jealous over that) and the second couple broke up bc the fem character doesn't believe in a boy/girl friendship. Which is sad. There are genuine friendships out there between both genders and ppl still don't believe in them. The couple clearly didn't communicate it correctly to understand each other's side and perhaps try to solve this situation or any other possible prob rather than break up.

Overall, it was an enjoyable series. Perhaps it could've been a little more short but its still really good and more ppl should recognize its value. This isnt the rating it deserves!!!

Where to begin... The good parts. The actors were full of emotions. You could feel the pain or love eith your whole heart. The romance was cute on its special way. The age gap wasn't talked or pointed out that much so that it would steal the light. I think that it was also important that different daily scenes of the society were shown. For example the SH of the main fem leader on the work environment or the status stereotypes inside a family that still exist.

On the other side now. The slow burn tired me fr so much. I think that 12 eps would've been enough to complete the whole story. The mother made me yell on my screen many time and pause the ep to stop my rage and understand this aspect of culture.
The couple had many communication probs. They wouldn't discuss the important issues. Like how can they say to each other to be by their side when they don't share their inner thoughts at all. That's absurd! A big WHY was written in my face all the time of how they both acted.
As for the fem leader, she overstepped many times on the personal life of her bf (and behind his back) and just said an "I'm sorry, I made a mistake again it won't happen again". Uhm why would it happen on the first place! Why not think about the feelings of your partner above something.

Considering everything though, this series was both enjoyable and a little tiring. I liked that they made peace with their feelings and ended together. I melted with the cuteness and the chemistry they had. I'm not a person that rewatches series but if I was I wouldn't do it. Once is enough.

Way too overrated

Even though at first I liked the plot of the time travel, mid season the whole idea somehow changed (not the time travel factor but the story). Why on earth out of nowhere change the story so much? I thought it'd be a sad romantic story where the fem lead didn't have the time to save him or express her feelings and relive all this dramatic end. What was that? And isn't like one of the main rules that noone can come back to life? But nevermind everything. Ep 13 was the complete mood killer. Why was everyone so chill with the killer? In which universe is that a normal reaction when you already experienced all these. What kind of story is that! I was about to give it a 7 but after that no. Although the ending was cute (after all they got to get through), i still skipped many parts and felt like the show was never ending.

I have no hate over the actors. They did good for the experience they had. But whoever wrote that, I feel like they got stuck and couldn't handle the idea they had on first place. Also the 16 eps are way too many for this plot.

NO NEED FOR S3

PLOT

I still don't understand the decision over a s3. Was it to show a university environment? If so it wasn't needed at all. The plot is the same. Again with a love triangle where clearly the main female character isn't interested romantically to someone else except her bf/ex bf.

I feel sad over Hyun Ho that was constantly choosing her and his only motive for his life was her. He was let down from every adult around him and criticized when he literally tried his best to change academically. So he based his willingness on one person. About Yeon Doo I'm glad she matured enough to deal on her own with unfair ppl. Although she needs to work on expressing what's bothering her on the relationship.

SIDE COUPLES

Everything was predictable. Sorry to say that but I couldn't feel the chemistry between the side couples. I think that they could invest more to the side stories by showing more intimacy between them characters. Being friends with others their affection was way better. They were a good group of friends.

I need a S3!

PLOT

It may not be as strong as the first season, but still pretty amazing. The length of each season is ideal based on the ep duration. The plot is interesting. The progress and maturing between co workers relationships it's so obvious. The pushing aside their ego to support a reason and give justice to the unfair system is such a strong connection. All the bullying environment is so emotional and sad, that I was questioning myself "what would've I done if I had witnessed anything disturbing with my eyes".

ACTING

The whole crew is so good. But I have to point out Jung Hae In's performance. His serious face and the ability to play an action drama except of romance proves how he can adapt completely to each occasion. Also his bro chemistry with Koo Kyo Hwan was outstanding. Wish I see more of them together in the future.

S3?

Based on our main character, he has one more year till his dismissal from the army. As he said, the story just started, so I hope that they will continue it and show more internal fights of contrasting army's ignorance and avoidance of taking responsibility.

Aspects for S2

ACTING

I've no complains over the acting of the whole crew. They succeeded to pass the feelings correctly and hold the emotionless mask during the action. I was surprised by the acting of Nam Joo Hyuk, cause I just had completed watching him on Weightlifting Lifting Fairy which was a romcom. So the change of a romance to an action drama was in an insanely correct order. The fighting scenes were good. No guns were used, just raw hands or small equipment which made the fight even more intense. The music was so so good. Especially the ending themes.

PLOT

It was interesting to watch a drama based on this big philosophical question that bothers the human society. The feelings are so loud that you can't choose objectively which side to take as a viewer. The scenes were well adapted by the camera. The quality was pretty good. Ofc many things are unrealistic. The whole story telling would've stopped way sooner irl. Its so sad that the innocent are always the victim in any case. Tbh, it got a little tiring while approaching the end. Although, bc of the ep legth, its still manageable and worth watching.

PERSONAL THOUGHTS

I have to admit that even though I don't agree with that kind of life concept, taking the law in our hands, this show was so worth it. The feeling of the constant rage over the unfair laws that rule our countries/world is so real. The dirt that covers our society is invisible when its right in front of us. But taking this decision, committing crimes to deal with a small amount of criminals, will it change something or just promote that taking the law in our hands to solve the unfairness is correct when it's the opposite?

Repeated mindset of plot, not that unique

After watching Squid game, Alice in borderland and the movies Parasite and The platform (and other disturbing things) this show didn't excite me at all. It just depicted the brutality of the human kind under extreme conditions ruled by the power of money and "your death my life mindset" again with a similar concept. As tbh though if I haven't watched previous similar shows/movies I would've been more shocked with everything I saw and perhaps rate it more. The more you watch stuff like that the less you get truly shocked to the point of never completing them.

PLOT:

Most of the time I could predict the next move. I'm not minimizing the actors skills at all. They all made me feel mostly the anger of all scenes. The physical strength matters a lot as well and for a good amount of times is more powerful than the cleverness. What I got in the end is that we all were the audience and we all somehow were adding them more time on that "cage" bc of our curiosity of what's gonna happen next. So, if we all stopped watching the show from the first time a cruel thing happened then their time was over and they were free. Concluding, we as the watchers of the show somehow supported all their actions till the dramatic end. We wanted to help, we knew the answer of helping them and didn't choose it.

ABNORMALITIES:

How is it possible for them to be beaten that hardly and not have a concussion, an internal bleeding, a severely broken part i wont understand it. Its out of reality and dont tell me that the lady that was a nurse treated them correctly bc shes just A NURSE that the only do BASIC TREATMENT. This whole thing is unrealistic and cant accept it.

Too confusing with almost zero infos

All I can say is that I'm too confused with everything. I tried to understand what happened in the past. Cha Soo Hyuk's father was abusive to his mother and on the first chance he took her away to hide her? Then his mother found another man and that man had a son, Lee Yoon Dae, and they lived all together for some time but then they ended things between them? And why did the son not follow his father? We get no detail over Lee Yoon Dae past life. As it seems he felt Cha Soo Hyuk as his new family, his home, his safe space. That's why he was coming back. And Cha Soo Hyuk was always worried and tried to support him in each way. While he himself trapped in a mindset of "i have to take care of my broken family" when none of these should've been his concerns. And in the end what was that? What I got is that Lee Yoon Dae finally stood on his own feet to prove that he's worthy of Cha Soo Hyuk's time and feelings. That he found his way of living and faced real life without standing still anymore.

Firstly bc of the ep duration I feel like it could also stand as a movie without losing the pace of the story by changing to the next ep. The sceneries were amazing. So beautifully written by the camera that makes you to wanna visit the places. The music was magical and so calm. I'm sorry to say this, but the actors at many parts felt awkward and lacking of feeling when talking. The muted scenes reflected more feeling than the ones with dialogs. They need to work on that. The plot was okay, with the last ep to be the most interesting. Wouldn't rewatch it.

What an amazing love triangle. The slow burn destroyed me. I couldn't understand which duo would end up together. I couldn't decide which couple i wanted to happen. Like who deserved it more. And the friendship not being destroyed and keep being polite to each other was so cute. The plot wasn't intense or something so so special. The dialogues were quite short. Although they passed the feelings pretty good. I got a little tired after the 10th ep. But i enjoyed it in general.

The plot was quite interesting. It was adorable. It had the chance to be longer. I feel like it came to a closure a little quick in the last eps. I didnt like the time skips to random scenes so much. I could've preferred to see more of their relationship progress. How they came to the conclusion of being together. And how the other character unlocked eventually emotionally his self and felt at ease and comfortable to show his affection. At least to watch some more steps of the character development and the establishment of the love part. I didn't mind of getting no kiss scene. I won't lie though, ofc i wouldn't complain if there was one. Overall i enjoyed it a lot.

I need to stop crying!

What can I say about this drama. It's amazing from every side that you see it. I've cried so much almost in every ep. The feelings of each story were expressed were so loud (a big thanks to all actors for that). Their love made me shutter each time. Perhaps it is bc of some personal experience that got me affected even more. I tried everytime to focus on the series and stop recalling my past. So let's start from somewhere.

What in the Voldemort type obsession was that of Bang Eun Joo with Sam-dal? What kind of person acts so slyly. In the end the truth comes to surface. Dishonest ppl lose their power. Especially when you base your whole life/career on the achievements/ideas of someone else. So toxic to try to manipulate ppls feelings for your success.

Main characters love story is amazing. The detail with the red string theory melted me. Their feelings never shut down for each other. The respect they showed for each others family had me speechless. They put aside their relationship to keep their parents happy. Even if they were hurting every single moment. And they showed with all means that it wasn't just a teenage love. It was their whole life. They were meant to be together and that's it. They faced way to many unfortunate levels, but in the end their love helped them surpass all of them. I'm jealous of their love. I'm jealous of the way they look each other or how considerate they are. Even after years they still know the other person better than their own self and that's true love, that's caring.

The mothers story is heartbreaking. Their bond was so special and Sam-dals mother will never forgive herself till the day she dies. The pain and memory will hunt her forever and won't let her feel in peace. The guilt can't be overwatched. She'll be her forever platonic other half. The consistent hate of Yong-pils father towards Ms. Ko hides to much depression bc he never found the way to move on. The moment he finally accepted the past and made peace with Sam-dals family showed that deep down his hate wasn't in reality hate but pain.

The big 5 friendship is also so strong. They all protect each other, protecting a little more their only female friend of the group like shes their princess. Even though they haven't been in touch for years, they acted like not even a day has passed since they last spoken. And that's true friendship.

Lastly, the small somehow village society reminds me of my own neighborhood and village. Everyone knows everything. Even if you tried to hide, you can't bc there are eyes everywhere. The rumors and news spread quickly. The only way to escape this circle is for you to abandon this place and move out. Like the characters tried to do to persuade their dreams. Not everyone succeeds, but not everyone fails. Some will come back, some will continue their lives somewhere else but that doesn't change the fact that this place will be their forever home (if their lives there were good and not full of drama and toxicity).
