You'd love it if you watched the anime
I watched it only because I watched the anime, and honestly it tremendously exceeded my expectations. The level of care and heart poured into the story completely destroyed my regard for the anime. The anime was very relaxing and sweet, but the drama actually brought me to tears on multiple occasions. The main characters, especially Tokitaka, were so much more interesting and fleshed out. Their relationships were more substantiated and it was easier to see why they're so close. Highly highly recommend it if you were a fan of the anime. You won't be disappointed, 10/10.Was this review helpful to you?
Excellent Pair for Kotaro Lives Alone
The story follows Hanawa sensei and what he does in the sidelines throughout the parent series' timeline.Hanawa sensei was a really good part of the original series as a character because he really bridged the Kotaro's two worlds (school life and life at Shimizu apartments) together. So it was interesting to see his personality and home life(that was hinted at in the original series) fleshed out and emphasized. Hanawa sensei's nervous enthusiasm is a breath of fresh air, and seeing him struggle so hard to grow as a teacher really makes you root for him.
Anyone who was disappointed the characters at Shimizu kindergarten weren't given enough screen time is in for a treat.
