More of a rant than a review
I jumped into this head-straight with even familiarising with the cast or learning the concept of the drama, and you know what? It is a treat.So to people who are like "meh" and click the button "plan to watch later". Don't. Watch now.
Story: So far so good. Basically I have seen historical dramas falter to find a balance between romance and politics, this is the 2nd drama after Scarlet heart ryo that is doing it so good. Queens character is hilarious and very well written.
Acting: Damn. The actress. Damn. There isn't a time when you can say that you felt she is not not a woman. She has great comic timing. The supporting cast is pretty strong too. KJH had been in my radar since school 2017.I am so happy to see him deliver something so amazing
Music: End track ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ. Very well suited. The tracks used in the series are mostly 21st century pop but it fits so well. Well done in choosing the music.
Overall: Skipping this will be like choosing to go hungry when you have ice cream infront of you.
Rewach value: i don't rewatch. But i just may rewatch this.

Chocolate covered strawberries berries
Food analogy: Rich Dark Chocolate covered fresh strawberries with drizzle of burnt caramel on top.Just the right amount.
I am actually writing this review after my Third Rewatch.
Chinese Romance dramas tends to turn cheesy as the show progresses, but this one dragged me out of this stereotype and delivered a near perfect story.
Story: Ah, the calm. The emotional turmoil and the dedication took the cake in my POV. It is a story that you won't be able to get it out of your head and after around 10th episodes will make you feel that you know them personally.
Acting: Found my new chinese bias in this drama. ZLS was already good as I have seen her in other dramas but it was my first time seeing the ML and boy, have i watched all of his work after that. Answer is Yes.
Music: Generic but fits well. Not in my playlist.
Rewatch value: I already started the review stating that I already completed my 3rd rewatch.
Overall: deducting a 0.5 from total score, solely for tbe reason that it has set such a unrealistic standard that I am searching for all the set characters everywhere to no avial. Which proves that the men, in our imagination is very much different from real men. Sad.

Realism: check.
Unlike most of the feelgood lead bl stories, this story demands to hurt. And it hurts so good. I loved the fact that the story creates layers which won't let your heart set towards a single ship. Yup, there are some plotholes that i would have been happy if it would have addressed but apary from that, this should be a must watch.The complexities that the characters present is so well projected because of the actors playing them. Idk why they haven't acted in other bl stories.. coz they aced this.

Shattering the shackels around your heart
Were you searching for answers of questions you don't actually know but you always wonder?Does it sound vague? Are you wondering what i am talking about? Go on. Dig in.
Be ready to feel stuff that don't generally want to feel because you HAVE to go do you day job or morning studies. Be prepared to question Normalcy, is it really that different from ordinary? Since, everyone wants to be extraordinary, doesn't it make Ordinary the most special.
At a first glance, this is a Ordinary drama about ordinary people leading their ordinary live.
But oh wonder!
This drama will handle the mundane aspects of life and make them kind of easy and hard hitting.
The acting from all the actors, leads as well as subs are just amazing and every person stand on their own. This makes me really glad that such a drama is regular and people are actually watching.
P.s: I will probably add stuff when, this drama will be over.

Not cliffhanged but always edged.
Food analogy: Dry but hot and spicy Ramyeon with a little a little to no soup (soup being romance) but lots of veggies and gravy, that even after being unconventional keeps you wanting more.It was deliciously complex. Although the trope of the story is overused and at the present time, which isn't (heh!) So I look at the storytelling. The storytelling was not perfect, to be honest but it was quite enjoyable.
You can be relate to the motions on a personal level but not be totally engrossed in the story because this is about some supernatural stuff, which is a good thing Coz it gives u space for other dramas and webtoons ( also I watched it while it was ongoing. Sooo.. u may disregard the last line)
The acting was fuvking great, man. I had only seen Kim Se Jeong once, but she was hit. Everyone never fell short.
But the show stealer was LEE HONG NAE.
Damn boy.. he made me sympathetic as well as hate him at the same time.. also hats off for such a well written character.
The ost's are ear pleasing and apt. Good enough to be in my playlist for a long period of time atleast.
This show is a 10/10 for me.

This is a story. That's it. This is just guilty pleasure where you will get to see Song kang and park Min young being Eyecandy and Saying scientific terms on a very interesting subject. Few good side stories. Pretty dresses. Cute hairclips. That's about it.
Like many other generic stories which had been retold in a million ways but still you find something new but in this case you will just find the setting as new, but the execution as somewhat lack lusture.
What surprised me the most is the fact that what they showed us as "character development", isn't that plain meaningless stupidity and toxic positivity? Well, if you watch my review. Do engage with me on this topic.
I would still give this a heads up coz it helped me have a easy digestion( coz i can't watch complex stuff while eating)

Soggy sandwich
I don't think I will be able to say something useful as I, myself is kindah clueless about the point they were trying to make in this drama. If What i thought is correct, then they were trying to portray "healing together" at the end of the drama but taking the coping of the symptoms out of focus and Just showing "love heals all. " which is a very Incorrect, speaking from a medical point of view.It is like a Soggy sandwich: it has every ingredients you like but you added too much ketchup and left it alone for a while and now it's just a soggy mesh.

Confusion between "complexity" and "lazy writing"
I have seen other works of writer-nim, which i did enjoy, hence i had to use the term "lazy". I was watching a lots of negetive comments stating that it was "Complex" but from my POV, i found it quite easy to understand once i got the rythm. Don't get me wrong, me finding it easy added nothing to my viewing experience, it just made me wait longer for something to happen that i would find appealing.I have a very emotional bond with Lee min ho coz the first kdrama ever watched was City hunter and he was my first oppa, but Second lead stole all the thunder. His character was the Only interesting thing in the whole series and i found myself waiting for his screentime.
I am not a bitch.. i will acknowledge the effort to make a vivid time travel sci-fi story and it would have succeeded if the makers attempted to tie up million loose ends and made the characters true to their original traits( even though there is no character development). I personally didn't like the FL even tho kim Go Eun tried her best.
So only watch if u have time to kill. You won't miss much by skipping.

Basis or no Basis.
See, i felt it's gripping, it will keep you invested, you will be on your toes the entire time because it's very unpredictable, But it's Completely unsatisfactory.Like you will watch the whole thing and still won't understand shit.
It basically felt like a ground work for season 2 where we will get to know what the heck is happening.
The message that it is trying to send is pretty good and the execution is top notch but totally personal opinion.. i just felt empty after watching it.
People who judge the story with more than just script will love it cause everything else was mindblowing.

Are monsters human or Humans monster?
This show focuses more on human nature than other mainstream Zombie flicks. So it can be rightfully concluded that, Monsters are not the main focus here.Nobody has faced an zombie apocalypse but we did face quarantine, keeping that into account, we can't expect the whole story to be loophole free.
But trust me the story keeps getting better. You don't know how a character will react as we don't know anything about them.
As the story only takes place over a span of two weeks, don't delve expecting a load of character arcs but just focus on the present.
But what kept it going was the awesome performance of the cast. *standing ovation*
There was immense chemistry and not much romance to keep us focused on the plot. But whatever much was served, was totally delicious.
Not a rewatcher but i would rewatch for some of the immense lead couple's badassness.

Isekai: The best Genre
Food analogy: An exotic fine dining experience of Chinese CuisineThis is probably my first C-drama review and My very first Wuxia drama and I have always been a fan of Isekai. I can't begin to explain how much in love I am with this drama. I will probably watch a lot more wuxia from now on.
The story itself is very very good and has me hooked since the beginning. You would be drawn with the fight sequences and the amazing CGI but it is the amazing character developments will keep you going.
Let's talk about acting. Ding Yu Xi is the main reason I wanted to write an early review. From every smirk to every eyebrow arch, everything about his acting screams perfection. so amazing. With every tear in his eyes, i felt like my heart too was breaking. Then i realized, he is very underrated. I wish he gets the fame that he deserves.
Even when the FL is acting cute often but it has not been over the top ( which is a big deal because i generally drop dramas, if there is too much overacting) . Supporting actors are good as well.
Not much of a rewatch girlie but this drama, i know i will.
Don't skip this.
