I watched it more than 10 times by now!
Well, where shall I start, I never imagined one day I would be fangirling over an ancient Chinese fantasy detective romance drama but here I am. Personally The untamed is one of the best dramas I have seen and I could write essays about it but for now, I'll try to keep it short.Xiao Zhan did a phenomenal job at portraying Wei Wuxian's character that no other actor can do justice to it. He literally born to portray Wei Wuxian. His journey makes you smile, sad, desperate, angry but hopeful. Wang Yibo is amazing as Lan Wangji and their chemistry is on fire (yeah if you think it is bromance you need an eye check). But that's not the main point, each character is unique and their interactions make you squeal. The acting might feel cringe at first but trust me stick with it and you'll be amazed. All other ensemble cast did a decent job. The music is 10/10.
The drama tried to stick with the original novel of the storyline as much as possible but eventually left a few plot holes which can be ignorable. Rewatch value is 10/10 and trust me you keep watching BTS, interviews afterward. Go ahead and I'd suggest stick to at least 15 episodes and there will be no point of return.

It was an okay watch. I loved the first five or so episodes as it's fun, refreshing and the main lead's chemistry is on point. It explores what exteme fangirling is like in a light hearted way. But then it is extremely slow paced, boring at times and I fast forwarded last episodes as there is nothing much happening. It also have the second lead syndrome which I'm absolutely dreadful of after watching a lot of kdramas including it. Also I wish dramas stop including the factor that the leads are destined to be together as they knew each other from childhood and then something happens they loose their memories then they meet again when they are old. Common I think it's time to stop it seriously,! But overall the leads have great chemistry it feels so real at times and if you are looking for a light hearted romcom go for it! No sense slice of life
For starters, am I someone who supports cheaters? Nope. Are the two main leads low key cheaters? Yes. There you go that’s my review. The dramas conflict is self centered, rude, confused female lead disguised as strong, independent, opinionated lady trying to cheat on his boyfriend of 4 years with male lead and dragging the same mess forever with out any resolution. The male lead Jung hae is a decent actor and very likeable but his character here is so annoying. Dude! Common you already fell for a red flag who left you and your kid and what’s your excuse to fall for a redder flag like FL? That she bought hangover medicine once at your pharmacy? I pity for his little kid. Anyways I wasn’t a big fan of SITR by the same director and most cast repeating it is just a mess I couldn’t go past through 4 episodes. Was this review helpful to you?
