Change my mind: best historical wuxia film made
Am reviewing this after I binge watched this in 5 days(rewatch).I first watched this tv series several years ago, around 2014-2015; I started binge rewatching the tv series to remind myself of what the story was like again.
Cast: The cast couldn't have been any better...
Music: The music has minimal singing in it, asides the opening and ending music, the rest of the film has extremely good non-diegetic music. The main song, The Smiling, Proud Wanderer is a perfect song the film used.
Story: The story is naturally the best as it is based on The Smiling, Proud Wanderer written by Jin Yong; this obviously deserves praise. Perfect wuxia novel to base the series off from.

Absolutely overrated
Rated when the series was at a 8.6 rating. The series is completely a mashed up romance with no direction. All three characters tend to have no specific direction during the whole plot, one loves the other and then fulls in love with another. Completely nonsense and lots of unnecessary drama added to make it a 20 episode cdrama. Every scene seems as though it was rushed to make, there are several scenes that weren't precise enough and lacked detail.
Gave the story a 3.0 rating as the movie got worse as it progressed, the start was ok, the ending was terrible, hence the 3.0 rating. The music was a 1.0 rating as none of it was really original, most were music from composers from the past.

Realistic but terrible acting and bad plot
It is understandable that creating a tv series like this is difficult although the acting is really fake and seems like the cast was a bad selection. The plot is incredible fake as it's literally a film where everybody's just dying, people are getting cancer or dying in car accidents, is there really nothing else to put in???
During every funeral scene where people were mourning, the characters in the background were barely even acting; they were just standing. The character in focus has terrible expressions.
Unsure as to what I can specifically like about this film as there isn't much likeable asides the fact that a couple scenes could be relatable in real life.
Liu Jun's and Yang Xing Ming's acting are notably the best actors in the film.
