Funny Adaption

I hesitated to watch this and I am glad to have picked it up on VIKI. While never as good as the some of the past works, I feel that it is more entertaining than the 2014 version. It seems like they were trying to emulate Dicky Cheung's hilarious 2001 version.

Plus:
+ They livened it up with funny slapstick. For example: every time the princess would try to barge in, the guards would surround her and perform a ring-around-the-rosie. You could see the actress trying to stay in character and not laugh.
+ They did not take themselves too seriously. Obviously this has a low budget, but the acting is smooth.
+ Arguably the episode cuts really make the story move faster. Not a lot of boring scenes to run the camera longer.
+ Better behavior from Wei Xiao Bao toward women. He is teasing more than creeping, which is more entertaining.

Negatives:
- The episode count reduction cut out parts of the story, and one or twice you might hear a minor reference to something that never occurred. If you are watching this, I am sure you are familiar with the story already.
- Low budget
- Music is pretty forgettable.
