Easy to watch. Little frustration due to silly contracdictions you see in most mainland drama.  This drama does not waste time dwelling in nonsence and it moves quite quickly.  This drama contains love, crime investigation (just like in Justice Bao), comedy and food.  It attempts to introduce Chinese cruisine to the audience. The drama was make interesting by interjecting crime solving stories.  In addition, the subtle comedy is intesting compare to some dramas that used Jim Carrey rubbish commedy actions. The new actress Jiang Jia En is so cute and looks innocent and fits the role she played in.  In the initial episodes her acting was average but as it progresses her acting improved and kudos to her for this effort. Being a new actress as the lead main role in this drama is not easy and demanding.  Hope to see more of her in future dramas.

All were OK until when a face mask can be used to be someone else is really too far fetching. Really ridiculous story writing... shows the writer is just plainly out of idea to twist the story. This is a historical fiction drama and not historical magic drama.

Another poorly written story

It comes to a point it starts to get irritating such as Miarong and Zhao Xiao kept going round and round wanting to harm Baoning and Li Qian...Just keep going merry go round... looks like the writer ran out of ideas but reuse the characters to repeat their plots over and over again..so typical of Chinese drama..then the sudden about turn of characters to a point that it is 180degree turn about...Contradicting and lack of common sense... merely to get the story moving up to episode 40. Why drag to 40 episodes if the writer lacks of materials...just wrap up early...24 episodes are just about right.

Initially the story was interesting and some subtle comedy was involved.  Hence decided to continue watching the movie. However as it goes on it starts to get boring as the story is like a merry go round with "pei le ye" keep coming back. The whole story then gets in circle and more ridiculousness creeps in. I think yhr writer must be out of good idea to drag the story. Overall the story is just average but the acting by Sun Li good. Seriously a total of 74 episodes is just too long. In my opinion, 50 episode is more realistic as many irrelevant story can be just removed.

Yolanda as Qing Rou acting was too exaggerated. It is already to the borderline of idiotic Jim Carrey style. Repeated scenes of her trying to escape starts to get boring. The story drags on too long and starts to get irritating. The writer must be lack of ideas and kept repeating similar scenes.  Yolanda lacks the naunce of to project good  comedy such as she used same facial expresssion, etc. Overall thr storyline is just average and Yolanda acting as Qing Rou is mediocre. I wont watch it again.

The story is not very good. Lots of ridiculous scenes that dosen't make sense and illogical. Nothing special about this drana. It is a typical poorly thought off storyline. Could have finish in 30 episodes. The comedy doesn't gel with me and this could be me not familiar with culture in the mainland. Overall this drama fails to impressed me. Quite dissapointed as I thought with Joe Chen involved, it would be of reasonable quality. It was a far cry from Queen of SOP and Fated to Love You.  Tong Da Wei acting was OK but could be better.

Part 1 is better than Part 2

Part 1 was interesting. It feels new and depart from the typical Chinese drama. However, as usual Part 2 starts to show degradation in the story and characters... From episode 21 in Part 2 onwards, it starts to be disconnected, from Part 1. Very common for multi part drama, as writers start to ran out of ideas in Part 2. Anyway, the sword play was nice but Part 1 is more interesting than Part 2. In fact it could be contained into 40 episode instead of a total of 56 episode and broken into 2 parts to evade the 40 episodes limit.

I don't know to cry or laugh

This is the most ridiculous dramai have ever watched. I am not sure whether to laugh or cry. There were just lack of common sense in the story... Too much talking rubbish and scenes that is mainly to fill up to 44 episodes...
Wasted my time completing the drama. Many instances I just want to give up and decided to give it a go and finished.... The best part is Jiang Yulang is everywhere.......... ? ? ?
My goodness please stop producing this kind of rubbish..... ? ? ?.................................

Writers/producers/directors..please do your homework. Gunpowder was invented in 850AD, which was 300 years later after Wei. So there should not be fireworks used in signalling or in military warfare... audiences nowadays are not stupid any more. So Writers/producers/directors..you guys need to step up.  No more rubbish please. Looks like many writers nowadays lack of ideas or even do their research. For example, someone sick must vomit blood or when someone hear suprising news must drop something. Looks like these directors must be using same old and outdated textbooks.

This drama is an all rounder. It has romance, comedy, family and some touching parts. The 3 main actresses gave good oomph to the stories. The 3 leading actress fit their characters. At least this drama does not have too much contradiction as in other Chinese dramas. The story is reasonably well plotted. It has a good ending. Overall a good watch. ...................................................................................................................................................................

Another poorly written story

Just another poorly written story... Snobbish CEO with a naive girl. Then the story just got boring with the 2 main characters going in circle and circle. Hate the phone ringing in critical time. It happens all the time to a point that it is just ridiculously stupid. The misunderstanding was so bloody childish and amateurish... What is wrong with C-drama writers? Seems that their only aim is to find opportunities to extend the drama to as many episodes as possible.

The writer has lost the plot and forgotten that the title is Legend of Ruyi but looks like after 67th episode it became Legend of concubine Ling.
The absurbness in the reasons and excuses to get the story twisted to fit historical fact became very lame and at some instances really portraits the immaturity of the writer.
Maybe the title should be change to "The Not so Legend of Ruyi".
On the good side... the costumes are nice. The acting are not too bad especially the main lead actress. She has the charisma and coolness of an empress.

Weird mentality

What a weird mentality. When a patient's mum slapped a nurse and a doctor wanted to called the police and then had her phone smashed by the patient 's mum, it is the fault of the nurse and doctor. They were forced to apologise to the aggressor. This seems to be the common trend in all mainland drama... Very funny mentality... The victims are the one at fault while the aggressor is right.. ? ? ? ... Just can't understand the way mainlanders think... Does this reflects their culture or it is just poor scriptwriting?

Poor plot

The plot is too predictable and kept going in circle. Characters in the plot such as Zhuo Jin Niang doesn't tally. She is an embroidery manager but she seems to be all powerful. This is just plain ridiculous to try to get the story going without much thinking on the part of the writer. It is so typical of Chinese drama for woman to disguise as man... lol.... She must be damn ugly to pass as a man.... Overall, it is childish at best... Thumbs down...
On the bright side Guleznar is pretty and cute...

Initially the story was o.k. Felt interesting and continued watching but I could nit past 20th episode.  As the episodes went on,they start to get ridiculous. The story line gets repeating with Ming Lang mother going bersek with ZLY. It keeps going in cycle with the blaming game going one from one episode to another with repeating consequences. The story starts to get disconnected with illogical scenes especially the role of Ming Lang father. The problem with many screenwriters nowaday are they lack research and they merely forced some situations ir scenes to get the story going without any consideration. Looks like good quality writers who make good research are rare nowadays. Viewers are getting more sophiscated and writers need to buck up with this trend. Overall this drama is not worth watching as it is just poorly planned and written.
