A succession of gore and betrayal

I’ll start by saying that the production is very good, but it’s not a surprise as there is nothing less to expect from Netflix. All the actors did a great job.
They tried hard to come up with a fresh story about zombies. In brief, the drama Is the typical survival race against zombies with a mix of gore & korean school issues such as bullying, teen sex, etc.

From the origin to the virus to the end with Nam-ra & “others like her”, it is poorly explained and doesn’t really make sense.
The drama could have been good, but unfortunately, It is overall a disappointment. The characters aren’t developed and it became a succession of unfortunate events, of useless fights between the characters, of human beings at their lowest points, etc. It feels they tried so hard to go against cliches that they just made the worst happened to “surprise” you.
Some characters & scenes are useless to the story & it feels that some scenes were added to add length to the story but definitely failed to add depth. The teenager who had a baby. On-Jo’s father who spent 10 episodes to look for, but died after 1,5 min he reunited with her, The bully that stays alive (but we don’t know how) & spent all episodes to run after ML to finally gauge his eye out and died with him. Etc, etc...

It reminded me a lot #Alive but with schoolmates rather than neighbours. The drama format was issueless and they could have made a movie out of this story, it would have probably avoided all the unnecessary added scenes.

Got tired of it. A part 1 would have been enough

I have a live/hate relationship with this drama. All the actors (except Leo Wu to me) acted really well and I cried and laughed mostly with Shaoshang’s adventures and along her roller coaster’s emotions.
Now …. This drama is really well rated, but I’ll go against the trend. I appreciated the Part 1, with the same screenwriter than Rose of Phoenixes, it made a lot of promises and you can enjoy the complex plot, the stories within the story, and the dialogues.
The Part 2 is unnecessary long. 29 episodes, when the first 21 episodes are just a repetition of the same feelings already explained between the 2 main characters “I trusted you, but you don’t” and vice versa, the hatred in Ling Buyi’s heart and his revenge that fuels the main storyline is dragging (example with Shaoshang’s father missing and accused of stealing copper, it took 2 episodes that were completely unnecessary to the whole story). Furthermore, i started to grow tired of Leo Wu’s acting that was lacking to me; he only shows 2 & half emotion the whole 56 episodes; anger / sadness that looks like anger and cute love.
Finally, I’m not happy with how the culprit of the Gu city plot was revealed. Ling Buyi actually knew all along that it was his uncle (as when he was a child he witnessed him killing his father, Li and even hanged his own son on the city wall). We thought that all these episodes, he was looking for clues, etc, when he just went to kill him and could have talked to his majesty who always defend his father, general Huo.
That fast forwarded moments of each secondary characters in episode 52, the whole episode 53 with Luo being a sudden enemy. Then, episode 54 it’s Lou Li but it’s wang yanji (wife of Lou Ben) is “resurrected”…. to get her revenge out of nowhere. All these stretched scenarios are built just for the 2 main characters to get close again …

poor story & dialogues

what to say …. this movie was such a disappointment! I wanted to live this movie as knights of the zodiac was a big part of my childhood. Mark Dacascos & Mackenyu were well casted but can’t say the same for the rest of the cast. Costumes don’t make justice to the anime at all and the special effects are low quality and we don’t realize the power nor the increase of power of Pegasus.

Now, the plot … they massacred the story. It doesnt make sense, they tried to summarize so many things and missed the whole point of the knights of the zodiac purpose. I don’t know if they tried to copy marvel sense of humour, but this whole “I’m a goddess” jokes weren’t funny and rather made the character of Athena look like a pretentious little girl.

This was a miss. I hope that if they continue the serie, the director & script writer will change. Otherwise, it will be a waste of time & money and will also stain actors credibility.

Could not stop whining!

I watched this drama as soon as it was out ... and what a disappointment.
I understand, due to its uniqueness, why lot of people liked it, though. And its approach on mental illness that is a trendy subject nowadays. But the story is lacking a lot, using FL's ASPD (Anti-Social Personality Disorder) and Moon Sang-tae (Gang-Tae’s older brother), Autism Spectrum Disorder as main sources for the plot. I absolutely loved Oh Jung-Se in his role, what a fabulous actor. He succeeded to portrait his character with Autism brilliantly. On the contrary, i did not like Seo Yae-Ji in her role. I found that the ASPD was not well conveyed, and her character ended up being a spoiled brat rather who acts recklessly and do not care about anyone but her, rather than a complex character with sociopath tendencies who would have had therapy and gone under medication for her personality disorder.
Finally, ML's character is this understanding and patient young man who raised his brother, feeling guilty about their past .... who ends up loving the FL as a freedom from the trap that his life is. Yet, it looks like more a Stockholm syndrome.

We understand that the FL and ML are safety pins for each other ... but are they, really ? The morale of the story is that 2 people who love each other can save each other ..... and in this specific story i did not like this fairy tale ending while the main plot was about realistic mental illness. Love can't treat ASPD ... and i felt that if you have to imagine the rest of their lives together ... it will be 2 lives completely ruined. Or was it the morale of the story ? That love can be this stupid sometimes, that people will ruin each other in name of Love ?
But again, i loved Sang Tae character and ending. While people with autism have a hard time to distinguish nuances, yet he succeeded to understand what his brother was lacking and wanted. As a big brother, he only wants to protect his young brother. His character is full of charms and emotions.

Now the fairy tale components and the outfits of Yae-Ji are both beautiful, but it was not enough to make me fall for the Main characters or the story overall. At the end, this drama just did not deliver for me !

Han So-Hee broke her image of romance actress!

What a role for Han So-Hee. Like Song Kang with Sweet Hone, she chose a role that is the complete opposite of Nabi in Nevertheless. Her acting is incredible and the scenes of fighting WOW! My Name follows the now classic 8 episodes drama concept by Netflix.

Why you should watch it?
The drama has an incredible cast! Story and production are at the Netflix entertainment level (meaning good). Action scenes are well choreographed and the drama is entertaining.
For Ahn Bo hyun acting and visual (and abs Are bonus scenes). The story started really well. Everyone loves a plot like Nikita’s ! This is a pure action / revenge drama!
You can expect torrid scenes with Ahn Bo Hyun and Han So-Hee. It was rare to see any explicit hit scenes in kdrama yet it seems that it became the trademark of Han So Hee with Netflix.

Why you shouldn’t watch it?
You can guess the outcome of the plot as soon as episode 3. The 2 last episodes were full of incoherences and the end is a botch job, like most the Netflix 8 episodes concept. You expect a season 2 but at the same time, the concept was already pushed too far in season 1 so I don’t have high expectations for the second part.

Now some incoherences bothered me in this drama :
**ATTENTION SPOILERS **
Episode 4 - Gangjae could have used the phone he took from her to e pose her identity. Yet, nothing.
- Detective Pildo could hear what Gangjae told her while torturing her yet that episode made him convince she is on their (cops) side.
Episode 7 - the scene at the hospital when she hides her blood with her foot .... but then the detective doesn’t see any traces of blood when she walks away :/
- After she kills Taejeu, she retrieves her goods but isn’t bothered by the missing phone she uses to call Choi Munjin.
- She could escape the police building so easily ... she was seen at the back door ... but none stopped her. She passes by Pildo on her motorcycle but no one stopped her either “-“

Finally, a miss for me in Han So Hee transformation was Her perfect white & aligned teeth. She is an orphan who grew up in a gang fighting to survive. Despite all the scars, her teeth are perfectly intact & shining brightly! It so didn’t fit her character. Am I the only one who was bothered by that ?

Shin Hye-sun and Kim Jung-hyun are phenomenal !

This is not your typical historical drama. It has it all, comedy, romance, drama, action ... and the chemistry between the FL and ML ? WOW! Its particularity is to bring modern sense of humour into this historical story in a clever way. Shin Hye-Sun is absolutely stunning in her role! You will laugh a lot, will fall in love but also cry ! This is a must watch and it is very likely you will want to watch it again ! Well casted, the plot is captivating, actors well casted, sceneries and costumes well designed. Let's hope for a season 2 or another sequel cause it is one of best k-drama of 2021 !

Masterpiece

I’ve watched Legend of Fuyao for the second time after 3 years and loved it as much as the 1st time. You can expect amazing scenery, script, acting and OST. The perfect mix for one of best Chinese production. It’s not for nothing that this drama became a classic. I removed one point for the last 10 episodes though, where the ice became slower and the side stories drag a bit the main plot. But... but it does more envergure to secondary characters. If you haven’t watched it yet ... don’t miss out on this masterpiece!

Half enjoyable, half disappointing

I was excited to watch this drama and it started very well. Both ML and FL are interesting characters, plot is established well at the beginning and makes you want to watch next episode. Half way in the drama ... plot starts to show some flaws, repetition and absurdities .... i had to fast forward some episode as they were too long and unnecessary for the overall story.
Unfortunately, this drama is not my cup of tea and did not work for me. Too many things are missing and it did not bring me any emotions.

It is a miss and i would not recommend this drama. I did prefer Legend Of Fei for reference.

Exciting show

I really live the concept to give another chance to these idols who didn’t have a chance to shine brighter than others. A lot are very talented and all had to go through a lot of hardships. This show actually tells you how much the idol system is difficult and demanding, yet how much these guys work hard to achieve their dream!
My heart aches for them while heating their stories and smile while watching their performance. Of course some characters are obnoxious, pretentious or play the victim card a bit too much while others can be too shy, too naive and cute for this cruel idol system! But all are there to make their dream come true and I can only be moved and inspired by that!
Furthermore, my biggest surprise was to see B.A.P Moon Jongup! Yes a B.A.P member in this show! B.A.P debuted at the same time than EXO and won best rookie award. Amazing talented group that was ruined by their company & the scandalous rumours from other companies, fans, etc. Moon Jongup was my bias in BAP & to see him trying since 2019 to maintain his dream alive after his group brings a lot of emotion! Really inspiring!

Could have been a nice rom com

It started well, all elements for a nice rom com were there, humour, background story with a bit of suspens, characters designed as nice and villain and the plot was original and tackle a subject that isn’t spoken easily of on Korean tv…. Yet this drama lacks so much more they try to make it complicated more it became a mess. Characters reactions and emotions are all over the place and just don’t make sense. There is no love nor brother love nor family love starting from episode 9 only a bigger mess unfolding in the 4 last episodes.
Unfortunately it was a disappointment

Could have been good

I don’t know what to think about this drama. It started boring, then became interesting, then very boring again. A story that could have been very interesting but the change of personality of the characters in middle of the drama, the loopholes in the story, the “we know immediately who is the culprit” …. Made me give a 6/10 to this drama. And the ending … what to say about it. Suddenly, male & female leads act out of characters and the drama takes a comical turn. This drama is lacking a lot in its story, which is sad cause it could have been an interested fantasy drama but I feel that it tried to tackle to many genres at once and lost its flow on the way.

Best role of Yang Yang

I have a love/hate relationship with Yang Yang. He’s surely handsome but his acting is very stiff and repetitive. He is a good kisser though so with the right partner and script, it can make the drama spicer. That’s what happened with You’re my glory. The romance between the female and male leads is refreshing and mature. I really liked the story and the fact that the man questions himself in his 30s; should I live my dream or make more money? Should I be in a relationship or should I focus on my career? I think we all put our lives in questions the same way at some point, and it makes you reflect on your own life somewhat. i personally could relate so it made the storyline very plausible and solid for me. And on top of it the short 32 episodes made the drama easy to binge watch, which was a plus.

It’s a HIT!

It has been a long time that we didn’t have an excellent xianxia. And Love between fairy and devil delivers; scenario, characters, casting, dialogue, ost, CGI, everything is there to make you want more and more. I am definitely hoping for a second season with maybe a Dongfang with the blazed fire, the new god of war Danyin, adventures of Chengheng roaming the earth?
It is a must watch of 2022, and it enters the list of best xianxia a ever made! Dylan Wang’s acting was so good, I’ve cried and laugh with his character.
Congratulations to all the cast and crew! Wishing to all the huge success that this drama deserves!

Amazing acting, but not so great story

This drama exceeds my expectations in terms of acting and imagery. Other than that, I kept rolling my eyes because of the twisted story & feelings. I kept telling myself something was off all along the 12 episodes, from how they met, lived together, started dating, etc... I am perplexed about FL feelings who kept butting in his life, stole the device from his apartment, kept coming in his house when he’s not there, etc.... I don’t like how the writer tried to make it look like ok because she is naively kind. And then the death of Ha Wons mother kept annoying me. The niece who took side to the guy who was involved in her death, the FL who hid it from Ha Won but once they kissed, she sided with him .... the fact they made it look like it’s common that people die when it snows in Norway is so exaggerated.
A lot just didn’t feel right about these characters and because of that this drama is a miss for me. I sont like when stories don’t make sense in dramas that are supposed to be realistic. I def preferred Something in the rain or one spring night!

Highlights SK society issues with a great cast!

The School series (especially 2013 & 2015) revolve around school violence, grade, suicide & so many other issues that young Koreans face everyday especially in high school. I like these series that try to tackle real society issues that still are a big flaw in modern SK society with one of highest suicide rate in the world amongst the young.
Kim So Hyun did an amazing job playing the 2 main characters! It is my favorite School sequel. If you prefer ont hat is more lighthearted, I’d suggest you to watch School 2017.
