One word: beautiful

Everything about this short felt so raw and authentic. I came into this expecting something completely different, and quite frankly much worse, but I am so glad my expectations were exceeded.

The acting isn't oscar-worthy, but it's convincing and by no means subpar. During every word of well-written dialogue, I felt the characters' vulnerability. The slow, calming background music throughout the short added to that effect. Whether intentionally or not, the actors portray a certain degree of caution during every scene, which I thought was a nice touch. The lighting choice was perfect, acting as a clear contrast between moods as well as a convenient censor of sorts during the more intimate scenes.

I appreciate that not everything revolved around sexual intimacy, as I thought it might. The story went deeper and we actually got to learn about the characters and their emotions as well as their past. Also, bravo for including explicit consent. We need more consent in BLs.

The ending was not what I expected at all, but that's what makes it satisfactory. Overall, the realism of this short is what gets me. I didn't feel like I was watching a fiction piece - I felt like I was watching a genuine relationship play out. It's not often that a drama makes me feel like I'm intruding. Big kudos to all of those involved!

Poor, at best

TL;DR - If you're looking for fluff and healthy relationships, avoid this one. Likewise if you're easily upset or triggered by depictions of mental health issues and self-injury.

I really, really wanted to rate this higher. I really wanted this to be better than it was. As a wlw myself, God knows we need more representation in the media, and I'll take any crumbs I can get. But after sitting through the whole thing, all I can really say to sing its praises is, well, the girls were cute and the cinematography was beautiful. Bonus points for the ending not being tragic, I guess?

The acting is very awkward, but not unbearably so. Costuming was questionable (heavily creased dresses, long sleeves suddenly being non-existent, etc.). Storywise, this movie seemed promising, but it just didn't deliver. The plot is so paper-thin it's almost translucent, and it jumps around so often it's jarring. The pacing is painfully slow for the first half and confusingly rushed at the end. There is an abundance of unnecessary drawn-out solo shower scenes and sparsely-dialogued hanging out with the gang like all teens do scenes that lead to nothing plot-relevant, while conflicts that almost break down a relationship are solved so quickly that if you blink, you might miss it. The soundtrack, mainly made up of little piano tunes, was unremarkable. And the relationship between the two leads? Well, it's not the healthiest, for reasons I'll get into below.

The biggest issue I find with the mains' relationship is the use of self-harm as a romantic gesture. Self-harm is a big theme in this movie, though we're never given a proper explanation as to what drives the characters to do it. The scars disappearing and reappearing at random is off-putting, to say the least, given that such a discrepancy could've easily been avoided by having the actress wear long sleeves for once (which, IIRC, she never does). Anyhow, once one female lead finds out about the other self-harming, she counts up the cuts on each arm and determines that "if you cut three more times on this arm, you'll have an equal number on both arms, so stop after three". She then watches her cut more than three times and says "if you do it, I'll do it too" before proceeding to slice open her own stomach with a pair of scissors. Cue ill-placed intimate scene with cut-licking. Yikes. Smells like guilt-tripping to me. Not to mention the same female lead forcing the other to face a phobia when she's not ready to "help her get over it". Double yikes.

All in all, while I can recognise that there are some redeeming moments in this film, they are so far and few between that it was extremely difficult to enjoy. I suppose that if you go into this with no expectations, at least you won't be let down.

Overall, it's disappointing

TL;DR - White and Captain carried this show. The other two couples were just kind of bland and this wasn't long enough to give them proper character development (or characters at all, for that matter).

The plot was a string of weak clichés I've seen a million times over in Thai BL dramas. It was predictable as ever and the main conflict was unsatisfactorily resolved in about 5 minutes at the very end. The Love Sick OST was a really nice touch, but it got very repetitive.

I just wish Phun and Noh had more screen time. I spent most of my time watching this waiting for them to appear again. It would've been really interesting to delve deeper into how their relationship has developed over the years and the struggles they've faced throughout. You can tell they've matured so much since Love Sick. So much more could've been done with this couple, but it feels like they were cast aside in favour of TwoWish. Their ending felt so inconclusive, and I was left wondering what they were going to do with all these unresolved plot points and how they were going to resolve their troubles. It felt like they were gearing up for a sequel that, clearly, never came to fruition.

Saint and Perth have some good chemistry and I enjoyed their scenes together. As a couple, they're believable enough - though Saint quite often seems a bit wooden. Regardless, Perth is an amazing actor who puts his all into his roles. His tears were so genuine and I felt every emotion in his words. If I were him, I don't think I would've been able to hold my laughter in during that singing scene at the end. It was so awkward to watch. I commend Perth for saving that scene.

As much as I tried, I could not get invested in TwoWish's storyline. Their actors really don't have enough chemistry, and I've thought this ever since I first saw them together in LBC. As a character, Wish leaves a lot to be desired; he has one mood and two tones of voice, and he seems extremely shallow. His actor plays him far too similar to how he plays Can in LBC. Two was likeable enough, despite being a pining cliché most of the time; it was refreshing to see such a gentle character. Most of the TwoWish scenes, I ended up watching in 2x speed due to how uneventful and uninteresting they were. This couple's ending felt rushed and forced and left me so confused.

In conclusion, ReminderS was a letdown. It was nice to see some familiar faces, but other than that, there's not much that can save this drama. As an introduction to 2Wish the Series, it serves its purpose - but in the process, it leaves the other couples in the lurch.
