Quirky, Dark, Mysterious, Would You Dance with A Devil
Tomoya Nakamura plays the lead, Goro Akechi, who is a wealthy heir to a major company, handsome, dashing, quirky (wears a flamboyant ruby suit & bolero), a sweet smile but he looks quite haunted. He spends his days detecting and eating great food. 1st real case- Plain, ordinary, frumpy woman comes to his office/home worried that her husband is having an affair, played by Eiko Koike. Akechi solves the case, presents her with the evidence & next day, husband is killed. Then starts the dangerous duel between evil and good. Along the way, there are mysteries to be solved, many of which bear an eery resemblance to the Women's case. Akechi loves the Bento Box food truck near his office & starts a friendship with Ichigo Kobayashi (Fuka Koshiba), young, bright, cute & a great cook. From the initial encounter with the Wife, to the end 8 episodes later, we are treated to a feast of food, danger, detecting, terror, murders, mayhem. I was bewitched by the 1st episode. Horo Akechi is handsome, dashing, witty, brilliant, quirky, but underneath it all is a man looking for love and great food. Nine powerful episodes later, I wonder if I actually don't know Akechi at all. Nine powerful episodes. Can you detect what will happen in each episode? Why do people kill?
