Zero agency
I was honestly pretty excited about this show when I started it, though the story set up was a bit weird. Gay arranged marriage is a bit out there even for BL shows...I didn't mind it that much but also again with the age difference? and all the "growing up like brothers and then get married"?Besides all that, I thought it was fun at first but I'm at episode 6 now, and ...jeesch...how can you write characters with zero agency? Both Kuea and Diao can't do anything in this show. I get that the top-bottom-dynamics are common in BLs, and get exaggerate, but jeeesch can you please not write characters that don't have any say in their own lives? And I don't mean like parents telling them stuff, or someone deciding job stuff for them! But actually forbidding them to leave the house, go anywhere, do anything on their own, be themselves, like what they like.
SPOILER
I was also really disappointed by the plot logic in episode 5 and 6 (*spoiler alert* there isn't any).
so the set up is: you like someone that doesn't like you back, and then when that person starts showing signs of liking you, you..don't want that ...although you still like them?? why?? pls someone explain!
The music is great though!!! 10/10

I loved it and now i'm so disappointed :(
I loved this show so much. I know the production wasn't super great but I loved the character chemistry and the softness. As always I think the "growing up like siblings and falling in love" thing is not something I particularly like, but still.
**SPOILER EP 5**
...But then again with the (almost?) assault story-line? WHY? So unnecessary! Also: so many straight dramas have (at least) questionable consent concepts and then always the BL dramas where it's portrait ..and probably also forgiven later? It just makes me sad...I'm still thinking of erasing that scene out of my my but I don't think I can continue watching it.

i had to change the score while writing this review
love the set up, with a strong female lead and the fun vibes the male lead and female lead havedon't care that much for the "in love with your friend for forever" trope but i guess it works for the comedy and stretches the story a bit in a good way
hate the offensive gay character portrayal and the "mistaken to be gay" trope
side note: this would have been an excellent set up for an actual love triangle (not just an arrow) because the chemistry between the first and second male lead was there, lol
