It Gets Better and Better as the Episodes Go On

I loved this show! The beginning was a little rocky and I wasn’t sure if I would finish it after episode 1. It wasn’t because of the controversies other have said. It was because his friend was disturbing at first and the ML had a girlfriend ( I did not want to see the FL going after someone with a girlfriend.). To be honest I did not see the racism that others claim. I think the friend was just a weird guy who liked reggae and had dread locks. That doesn’t make the show racist. Anyways, I am so glad that I continued watching it. The show got better and better. After episode 8, I was stalking the internet to see if the next episode had come out. The final episode was very satisfying. A large part of my high rating is because I really liked the end.

The acting was great by all of the cast. I had never seen Kim Yoo Jung before and now I am looking forward to seeing her in more roles. The OST was good also. This was a great romantic comedy, not too much drama.

Great until last couple of episodes

This show was great for episodes 1 to 13. Up until 13, it had me on the edge of my seat the whole time. It almost made it easily in my top 10 shows. Then, came that sloppy, what the heck happened ending. It was like the writer was replaced by someone who wanted to sabotage the show. The acting was great throughout the entire show. The OST was fine. The writing was great for episodes 1 through 13. Then, episode 14 came. That was when things got sloppy. I held on for hopes that my ending would be a happy one. It was satisfactory in one way and totally unsatisfactory in the way it left so many questions unanswered. It was one of those endings that leaves you scratching your head and thinking “ What the heck was that?” I really think that the writer had no idea how to make it end. I gave this show a rating of 8 just because the first 13 episodes were so great.

How’s the Ending?

For all of you who are like me and would rather not sit through 16 episodes and then have a bad ending, this review is for you. This is a cute show with a great ending. The show has a beautiful message about appreciating those we love. It is all tied together beautifully with a very happy ending.
PROS:
*The acting and OST were very good.
*The drama in this show doesn’t come from a main, irritating villain, instead it is more from the situation that the ML is in.
*There are a lot of positive messages in this show about friendship, parenting, marriage and life.
CONS:
* FL can be a little ditzy. I mean how can you not realize that he looks exactly like your husband did at that age.
* Kissing scene between older FL and younger ML is a little cringy. I just kept thinking that FL actress is around twenty years older than the male actor. Maybe it would have been better if they put the older actor in those scenes instead.
Overall, this is a great show and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a romantic comedy with not too much drama.

One of the Best Chinese Romantic Comedies

This show was a pleasure to watch. Not too much drama, but enough to have action. I liked the FL and the ML. The female lead has a strong and independent personality and the ML is thoughtful of her the whole time (even though it does not always appear that way). This is definitely one of my top Chinese shows.

The ending is very important. I hate watching a show that I really like only to be subjected to a bad ending. That is not the case here. This writer did a great job of giving us a happy ending that was not rushed or messy. I was very pleased with the ending.

I did not give this show a higher rating because while I enjoyed it, it was not something that I couldn’t wait for. Some parts could have been done better or left out. But, overall I would definitely recommend it.
