Money Maketh Man

Money is a delimma, a critical delimma. There is a saying that goes " Don't let money manage you, manage the money" and another that goes " Money can change a person".

Well, this story brought out those two sayings in the most cinematically and praise-worthy way. From bringing us an hierarchy view of how people with more power ( but in this case money) can control what anyone below them have or get, how small destructive behaviour can turn into something even worse and to how resulting to violence can lead to more violence and nothing else.

Desperation to keep the money and to survive without any harm was impossible, especially when money is being given away for free. The sad part unless you are at the top of the food chain you have better chances to survive but if you are at the bottom...you have to do what you can.

When they couldn't change the rooms as expected, I was not surprised. They had all these plans but they didn't go as they did plan, and it brings us back to life and how no matter how much you plan...the most unexpected things tend to come out.

And so brings me to my conclusion, When they first started the show ...they were managing the money but as the money grew their opinions and decisions became clouded then we watched the money managed them.

I believe this was portrayed in a very elegantly disturbing way. Likeable characters turned unlikeable but the more I watched the more I understood how rational and irrational us humans become when faced with such a great amount.

This is worth the watch, definitely give it a shot. But to me overall 10/10

STOP OVER ANALYZING AND JUST WATCH!

I am not a fun of action-related anything but I have watched a few that really changed my mindset. This one falls under that category, I saw alot of negative comments but before I even came in for the comments I went and watched it myself.

what I liked:
- The bond/ bromance between the two MLs, I have seen alot of bromance kdramas and this one did a good job at giving a normal feel of a natural friendship.
- The connections between all the characters, k-dramas or just all dramas have always had a way of connecting characters to make the story make sense. This did a good job, they connected each character well and gave a brief background of who they where.
- The fight scenes! Omg, the fight scenes were beautiful. It takes time and alot of effort to get that done, each movement was precise and I just saw perfection in the fights.
- The fact they didn't bring back characters from the dead...this happens alot in action movies..where you think a character has died and they are surprisingly not dead. I am glad they completely killed off characters and just used them as the MLs motivation to get rid of the villian.
-The concept of COVID was also nice, it made the situation of people taking out loans from loan sharks more logical.

what I didn't like:
- Honestly, some things didn't make sense. And instead of me completely bashing them for those errors..I will just say.. 'when tailing a car'...this was the most frustrating thing to watch
-Then after episode 6, it's like they were trying to rush everything so that it could end. They did there best to make sense of how the story should end but the ending was a bit rushed and even though the final battle I was looking forward to was quite bland.. I will just I am okay with the ending...somehow.

So to conclude on this, I will just say the show is worth giving a try but you need to not try and over analyze everything. if you stick with the show for the bromance and fights, then you will enjoy it. So just watch it! And don't over analyze.

Well...let me explain because I just don't understand

You know this show had a lot of potential...and alot to work with.

Like Jin Da Beom, the guy that did a good job with being a completely hateable character, so did Go Kyung Jun...so I can say the villians did there part well enough.

As for our citizens...well...I feel they could have made better decisions. With all the fear going on... I feel logical decisions could have been thrown out...but after a few too many deaths...some actual thinking could have started...they could have actually played the game and kept us guessing what's next.

As for the paranormal side of this...they tried but they didn't do enough to make it feel like it was a necessary part. In the ending they made it seem like everything that we thought was crucial was actually nothing. An example is the bus in the woods in episode 1...why was it there??

The parents roles are just ridiculous, all this for revenge. How did they even get all the kids there without their parents knowing where they are...where is the police...what the heck is going on outside ...just how people ..how!

The ending could have been better, they really did push alot of limits...even though things weren't explained clearly...They definitely made us look forward to watching the end, but like Jin Beom killing Kyung Jun in the most none impactful way ( after all that bad blood)....well it was that bland.

I would want a season 2..so I could just get explanations for the questions I need answers to but otherwise wouldn't look forward to it.

And I am not sure if it's just me but Yeon Seo & Jun Hee didn't leave a lasting impression for me as center characters. They did a good job but I didn't feel anything for them as characters...I felt they were missing something..but hey that's just my opinion.

Overall, watching it once was enough...never going back. I just hope next time a show like this comes out, the ending won't be bland...I wish it was an ending with a long lasting impression...so many good actors but such a bland ending. The writers really didn't do this story justice...just saying. I am hurt.
