I don't know why this show doesn't have higher rates. Seriously that goes easy to my top 10. It has everything I like in a show. I don't know if it's some personal preferences but I simply loved everything about it.
I even like it better than other famous top everyone likes dramas like Goblin, for instance.
I see here the right amount of comedy, romance, and a good plot to back it up.
Some shows I watch give relationships the main spot of the history, and something happening around, but with the main focus in the relations itself, usually romances. Those are romance focused, and others have a more twisted complicated histories, main focused, so the romances and relations get a little bit grayed out by it.
I can say, most of the dramas are that way. I'm not complaining, just stating a fact. But not this one. This drama had the right amount of everything entangled, a good twisting plot behind a beautiful romance, with the right amount of cliches(not too much, but enough to warm our hearts xD), in a so subtle way, we don't even notice it.
No, no second lead syndrome crap bad written romances have. (I'm second a lead syndrome hater hahaha )
Just pure love, with hints of fantasy, tragedy and comedy . An Odyssey after all.

Soundtrack(i'm getting ready to download it), the cast, the chemistry the leads had, the leads itself, I liked everything about it.
Some reviews I've read said that at some point the history got dragging, like they were filling it, like they were delaying it so they could make it longer. At some point, if I recall I can say that happened, but it wasn't like I wanted to skip it, so I could know what really happens (like I do in crappish dramas, I just go on skipping so I don't lose my time ove it hahaha). It was fun! That's why I can't complain about it. T
I really had fun watching this. I recommend it to everyone who enjoy fiction and fantasy like I do.

The plot is weak. There are few cute/fluffy scenes but not that much. There was some funny scenes, but not that much, and also some mystery but not that much. To summarize, everything was kind of so so.
To be honest, I was able to finish it only due to Lee Jung Suk. He's cute, everybody knows that, he's a very handsome and good actor, that saved this drama. The lead actress wasn't bad, actually she's very good, is just the writing. I feel like I wen't trough the whole 16 episodes for the sake of looking at LJS's cute face and that's it.
I don't get it how this drama was able to score 8.5. Maybe it's the magic of having LJS in the cast.

If you are waiting for breath taking romance that makes you heart plump just forget it, the romance here is really blend. If you are like me, that like those romances that are built block by block, where the characters slowly fall in love with each other, and you keeping shipping them and smiling anytime something happens, you won't like this drama.

There is no consistence. Is basically a cold sociopath who's not affectionate to anyone and lacks empathy: that good old cliche of a handsome rich twisted cold guy, (but here he goes beyond cold, since he's bit scary). And for no reasonable reason, in a matter of 1 episode he falls for her. Yeah, that cold twisted guy, just like magic +plum+ falls for her.An ordinary weirdo nerd. And just like that she falls for him, and they're done. They lack character development, like a consistent history and there's no way for us to tell actually how they have fallen in love for each other. After that, they struggle for her to accept his twisted ways. That goes the majority of the series, constantly on repeat. The girl fighting for accepting his twisted ways of doing things.

The way I see it, the fact that the drama didn't took much time to develop their relationship, and just took it for granted how they loved each other even though they were too different and there was no reason for such in a such short time, we don't have much time to build an affection and actually root for them to be together, so meanwhile watching their struggles, I actually didn't care much about it, like whatever break up already, I don't care.

I like to use other dramas that I loved to compare, how the relationship of them was built in block by block, and how a relationship that wasn't meant to be, can become cute. Dramas like Because This is my first life, for instance, have a similar idea, with a very different approach. That's when I guess this drama failed. What makes a good romance, for me is how little by little the relationship of two different and almost impossible persons can develop. I think this was the author's idea as well, but wasn't successful, since there were near to nothing development. Is just unrealistic how could they fall for each other.

If you you like good written plots, and a good history, forget it. You won't find it here as well. This is not a twisted surprising plot, with a clear villain to take down, or unfair things to be repaired. The whole history evolves around the romance, I've already written about. Other things is just side things, the main thing in this drama is the romance. This isn't a bad thing. Depends on what you like and what you wanna watch. That goes bad only if the romance itself is not good enough.

Also, if you don't like having second lead syndrome, don't watch it. I'm serious. The high point of this drama is the second lead. Actually thanks to him I could finish it, but if you are a person that doesn't like suffer wanting the second lead to become the main and end up with the girl, just skip it. There's no way one wouldn't fall in love with that second lead haha. I take it as bad writing you know, since we should be shipping the main couple. I always think when I have second lead syndrome, that writers shouldn't give second lead too much of space, so we wouldn't develop much affection to them, because at the ending, if you like the second lead more than the main, you will only get disappointed . Essentially you won't like the drama.

But I gotta say, i liked this drama only for Beak In Ho. <3

What can I say about this drama. This drama started good, but at some point it lost it. There's no sense of continuity, as if the writer wrote episode by episode, and didn't care much about the story as a hole.

This is lightweight drama, and surprisingly a non cliche one. I read in drama's descriptions, the word '' chaelbol'' I think, weeelll, another, cold, sorta cruel chaebol, giving a cold to a kind hearted stupid with no pride girl. As always. I was ready for that.
What a surprise. Yeah a beggar chaebol, looking like a cute lil boy screaming ''buk chiii'' I fucking loved the concept, and I fucking loved how cute main lead acted, and the concept of a guy acting cute, for change. I loved it with my heart. Anytime he acted cute, I was like, AAAAAAAAWWWWWWN .
It's different from what is expected. We're always expecting manly cold handsome rich chaebols. Buk shii (can't remember how to write korean names, sorry).
Most of everything, this drama is out of usual from what's expected. In everything. Plot, music, characters.
The soundtrack, I loved it. They took some old songs we all know that fit perfectly in each scenes giving a comical atmosphere (best one for me was Disney's Alladin ' A Whole New World')
This was not meant to be a great deep history, is light fun and cute. For what was meant to be, to me was perfect.

I had plenty of fun watching this. A fun that some higher up rate dramas didn't gave me. That's why I think it was worthy watching it. It could be better? Maybe it could, I don't know but I have enjoyed it pretty much, never had the urge of dropping it.

The main characters, HaBaek and YoonSo. Loved, loved, loved them. I love the way HaBaek was a wanna-be cold guy, somewhat funny, sometimes naive, I liked the way YoonSo wanted to hide her weaknesses, instead of just being a fragile wreck unlike so many dramas like to portray women. Not all woman are emotional train-wrecks that fall crying like a baby when something happens. She was strong, even though her life was crappish, she kept going, even when everything was falling apart. I loved it about her. It has some realism in it. Out of dramas, in real life, when something bad happens, when a lover goes away, or someone die, your life just keep going, sit and cry like a baby doesn't help,we have to find a way to survive. That's why I liked her so much, if you ever had been in a situation like this, you would understand. Is a very well written character.
Many people say the Shin Se kyung acting was bad. Seriously, I'm very critical about acting, and I can't see why . I mean, her character was supposed to be a strong one, so pardon her if she had not so many desperate crying scenes like so many other dramas, maybe thats why people say it was bad?? (I'm just trying to understand) I Can't see any flaws in her acting.
About NamJoo well, can't say otherwise about him as well. He was portraying an arrogant king god, and he did it well. Let's skip that is always a joy watch his cute face, for so many hours haha x))
From what I could notice, when people see a cold characters, in dramas in general, they take it as bad acting. Ive seen this in so many other dramas and the same happens. You see, when a character is supposed to be cold, not emotional, they gonna show less emotions, naturally. That's not a flaw or bad acting, that's how the character is supposed to be. For what HaBaek was supposed to be, NamJoo did a very good job.

The plot was good enough, if I have to complain about something is this show, it may be a little about the plot. Sure it wasn't a perfect one, but is better than so many plots that I have seen in popular shows everyone likes.
So, overall is a good drama.

Would I recommend this??? Yeah, this show was good, was funny with a cute romance, with good characters.

Impossible not give a high rate on this one. I came to watch this because I was too lazy to find something else, and thats what netflix showed me first.
I never imagined it was so freaking good.
Is a light history with a simple plot. Is the kind of drama that makes you reflect your own life, and life in general, in a very cute way, thats why is I like it.
One of down-points of korean romances in general, in my point of view is repetition and cliche. I like it but if you watched some korean drama, you know
what I'm talking about, but not this one.
The female lead. I love her. She's the best female lead Ive ever watched in korean dramas. I dont know if I like her because she's somehow like me in real life haha, but I love her. She's not drown down in gender cliches like most female leads in korean dramas (well 1 or 2) She's strong, straight forward, and tempered, yet funny. There's no drama revolving around her. She's just simple.
The male lead. The guy is hell of cute, and yeah call me shallow but having a cute male lead to me is important. This is entertainment, and cute faces entertain me.
But nothing comes with a cute face without acting skills(like that guy from heartstrings, he was pretty cute, also looked like a robot, expressionless) This guy acting was great. The character itself, confused, lingering in a sort of platonic love for so much time, having trouble sorting things out with his older brother, and his personality, he was sweet towards her most of the time, even though she never knew about his feelings.
The side Histories. They were cute as well and not a pain to watch. I know many people like side histories but Korean dramas, mostly are BAD in it. Most of Korean dramas Ive watched, with side histories, sometimes it becomes so fucking boring and irritating that I just skip it. Not this one. The side histories, as well the characters, well written, in a way you don't dislike any of them and you want to watch it, not skip it(in my case) .

Final considerations.
Well, this a light weight sort of slice of life, with cute romance in it, with a strong female lead, a sweet boy male lead, a crew of fun friends. The history doesn't follow a straight line. It goes sometimes only tell fun situations that isn't related to the main plot, but it's extremely fun to watch, at the same time.
It's a light weight drama, but now a shallow one. It's deep, makes you think about the word and life works, if pushes you inside of screen.
Is it worth watch??
Well, yeah.

This drama had a great potential to make your eyes glued to the screen till the very end and it did. I usually don`t watch much high school teenie dramas but I felt like giving it a try, since so many people would recommend it to me.
The overall story was pretty interesting it had a few down points I`d like to discuss.
The 1st one, I was waiting a little more from the mystery of the girl that died. I was kind of disappointed to know all that was because she died during class and nobody noticed it. I think it was a little bit over reaction to it honestly. I mean yeah that`s too bad that a girl being bullied died but it wasn`t like she killed herself or somebody did something horrible to her.
The other point, I think everyone agree with me, is the romance. Sorry I don`t get whats goes on with the people that written this drama. Kong ta kwang was a such obvious that at some point I was sure he was the real lead. His character development was deeper, his caring to eun bin was also deeper and most of all, he have fallen for whom she really is. Everyone else have liked her from the idea that she was her sister not her herself, the only one with her solely for who she is was kong tae kwang. I doesn`t make any sense she not ended up with him.
Han yan was a nice character and all but his affection to her was a little bit blend. Their romance altogether was blend . I just don`t get why would their make him as a choice. Like well, he gets mad with her because she was pretending all along, and then he discovers that his 10 years long love for her sister simply vanished now he falls for eun bin. plump. That`s it. Well yeah. Don`t take me wrong I always enjoy watching Nam Joo`s cutie face but this time but, this time, kong tae kwang was a way but waaaaaay better choice. I don`t get it, really.
But even so those two down points of this drama, I consider this drama a good one.

I don't get why the bad ratings about this one. I fucking liked it, way much more than some popular rom coms around that people rate 8 or 9.
The thing is, is quite rare me liking both of leads, the way I liked these both.
This is a lightheaded drama, this is not supposed to be heart throbbing romance, more like a comedy. And for that it was really good. I had so much fun watching this. No big dramas, tears and complications.
Like I said before, liked both leads. The female lead wasn't that typical crying around female lead, and the male lead at some point was that typical korean jerk, but as time goes by he reveals himself much more like a shy little boy than the jerk. I fucking loved it. Rain look like a little boy smiling, soo cute.
The only thing that may bother some people, is at some point it becomes dragging, but that happens only if you intend to watch everything in only one day. I got to a point, that I was like, fuck i'm tired of watching, them I'd wait some time and watch it again, and I kept having fun, just as much as before.

I came to watch Hana Yori Dango waiting for the worse. It couldn't be something good, I thought to myself, after wasted precious hours of my life watching Boys Over Flowers, the Korean version. God, that one was so bad I wish I could erase it from my memory. So, I don't even know why I picked it up to watch. I think I was just lazy to find something else. What I big surprise. I feel like Korean spoiled Hana Yori Dango, you know, the similar feeling when they make a movie out of your favorit book, and turns out to be a big piece of crap? That's the feeling I have now, after watching the korean verson, and now this one.
Even though it's the same plot, the feeling is completely different, I feel like they picked up Hana Yori dango and mixed up the most annoying korean cliches in it, put a lot of filling episodes, again, filled with korean cliches and ta-da. Boys over flowers. Sorry if I'm comparing too much these two versions, is just that, I'm surprised that this one turned out to be good, out of my expectations.

The main male lead was cute, as if he was hiding his true heart and that was pretty clear, unlike the Korean version. The Korean version, from what I could tell, he was just a bully mean guy that have fallen in love with a girl and that was it. I just couldn't like him. The whole point was lost. Hana Yori Dango made it clear, that inside that scary guy lies a cute spoiled boy.

The main girl, she played strong and played well, the acting, I must say, way, but way, but waaaaaaay much better than the Korean's which didn't had that strong concept Hana Yori Dango had, it was mostly like she was somehow random, crying whatever. Let's not talk about her goofy acting. Ugh

And the best thing in comparision to the korean version, was that there was no actually space in the story for the damn second lead syndrome. Sure Rui had a crush on her, but his role, spacing and development was nothing compared the main lead, which get us rid of those hated love triangles, that we always end up shipping wrong. So, one more point to the script. It was well written. Good.

This drama was a roller coaster. It was like watching a multiple genres inside only one drama and that's what made it magical and one of the most well written dramas in my opinion.
You hate it, you love it you get annoyed and the best thing about it is that you have no idea where the hell the plot is going. Is totally unpredictable. Yet you can't take your eyes off of the screen, it glues you and makes you want to watch more and more. I congratulate the writer, this is art.

Hm the cast. Amazing, the main couple, I absolutely love them both. InGuk ? What to say, is always a pleasure be with him for some days and enjoy his acting almost perfect. He can make you hate him and disgust him and feel sorry for him at the same time. And SoMin, I've always liked her acting. She doesn't over do it, like many many korean actresses do.

The OST. I'll download it, is amazing.
The Photography takes you to the right mood instantly, and is incredible how they think about everything.

oh my god I have no words to describe how bad this drama was. I'm speechless.
I don't know if its a cultural difference or simply masochism, but some korean drama girls just like the suffering, like the pain, just like that song S&M Rihana's.
I mean, the main guy, the guy was just a pain, from beginning to end . Meanwhile he was enjoying himself the pathetic girl was dying because of him. The guy even betrayed her, yet she seems to have no pride at all. He treats her just a lil better than before, she falls all in his graces all over again. I just can't watch those kind of things. Meanwhile, these dramas always have a second sweet prettier guy who, from my point of view seems a lot, but a lot but a lot better than the main guy, which is disposed to make more, to love more and yet, that guy doesn't get the girl because she just likes the suffering. Always. I, the dumb one as always end up shipping the sweet guy. Why? Because I'm not a masochist. The acting. What can I say about that girls acting. It was just fucking horrible. The character was supposed to be childish cute, ended up looking like a retard with those high pitched voices and weird faces. I know I know is a old drama but being old doesn't erase its down-points. The main guy was expressionless. I actually can't say when he was angry, happy, crying. God i might cry how bad this drama were.

I loved it. You know when there's some cliches we like, at the same time the story line is creative enough to give us that sense of, what the hell is gonna happen next?
It gives the vibes of watching Brazilian soap opera( I'm brazilian ) The plot entangled with lots of melodramas, and dramas, and things that may not be necessary, but is good enough to keep me entertained.
This wasn't a master piece but it complete its task, it was really enjoyable.
The beginning it had a romcom feeling, mixing up dreams of having your favorite idol being in love with you and a very sweet and fluffy feeling, little by little history got darker and deeper.
If you don't like deeper plots, you will probably hate it. Thats the thing about this drama. You may enjoy the fluffy but not the darkness. So you gonna end up hating it. I liked it both. Even though the feelings had some contrast, that contrast was what I liked the most about this drama. The sweetness fluffy of a handsome boy and all that hard to get we are used to see in romcoms, slowing turning into a heavy sad drama.
If you're not up to it, to that ride of feelings and atmospheres don't watch it. If you want only something easy going, you may like the firsts episodes but you gonna end up hating it.
To me, what made this drama great, exactly because of that ride.

I feel like older dramas have some better character development and deeper characters, than the new ones, that's what I like most about this drama. A good thing about this drama is that you likely will never get bored. There are always something important happening, that '' oh my god that's already happening '' . Usually we get that kind of feeling towards the ending part, but not this one. Each episode has something new, and important that catches interest right way. You probably wont get bored.
If you like lasting love stories, with lots of tears and sufferings, entangled with a vengeance plots, this drama is for you.

And I can't review this drama without talk about Ryu Soo Young - The Villain. Oh my god that acting was so good, the character was so well developed in a way that I found myself liking him more than everyone else. Seriously, I guess thats my favorite villain from all the dramas I've watched so far. <3 <3

I had better expectation to this drama. It was a really blend rom com. The couple had no emotion or chemistry at all. You see, is not that it was a bad drama, it was a drama without any taste at all. The best thing about ths drama was Taiga's struggle to become a decent actor and live the expectations of the memory of his dead father. Was this the main focus of the drama, I think I'd loved it. I was really looking forward to it. The romance as I said before, was blend, tasteless with no emotions at all. Was the drama just about his carrier, it'd be perfect.
He stated too fast he was in love with her. There were close to none development of their romance or feelings. Like, he falls from a parachute, and plum, i'm in love. I mean, really?. I think it kind of started wrong, like '' that was the day I've met my true love'' . It feels like the drama its spoiling itself. But I kept watching kind of waiting for something surprising/exciting; I'm still waiting. Nothing happened.
It wasn't even funny. The only good thing about this drama is Matsumoto's acting. Good as always; You see, the casting, music production they were all ok, the plot is the main problem here;The history is too blend. No emotions, no surprises, no shipping no nothing;
Is marrying a single mother a big thing or what? I think the focus of the show was supposed to show the difficulty of falling for a single mother, and a window falling again for another man... but, well there wasn't too much for it you know.

At the beginning I wasn't waiting for much of off this show . I didn't see how could a ''little person'' would end up with a good history. It kind of surprised me, this drama was better than I was waiting for.
This is a lightweight drama, a little bit childish sometimes, with a very and innocent line of story. Is one of those you just sit, and watch, no worries.
The reason I couldn't give it a better note was that, well is a too light show. Like, not much of anything, just hints. Not much of comedy or romance or drama or any, just hints, isn't a history that completely lock your eyes and interest on the screen, in a way you can't wait to watch another episode. I'm a person that like strong emotions in dramas, in any way. That's why I couldn't give a better not, but I'd recomend it, for sure, mainly if you like that manga shoujo aura, and romance oriented.
I always have been a less shoujo more shonen person, that's why i'm not that attracted to those stories. But it was fun to watch, even thought not being my favorit gender, I never wanted to drop it so it's a good sign.
