Just comforting but not much happens

I personally enjoyed watching for the most part but it did have some issues.

Nothing much happens, everything that does happen is very much predictable. Nothing necessarily bad about this, it had great potential to become one of my comfort Dramas. The beginning was super slow but both characters acting really made most of it worth while.

My biggest issue was what was supposed to be the climax/breaking point of the series. Everything leads up to this one moment and to me they kind of underdelivered? Everything afterwards was sort of unnecessary too and didn’t really add anything much to the story overall… before the last couple of episodes I would have likely given an 8. But the way it turned out that just wouldn’t sit right.

Overall I still enjoyed watching this and I did actually cry actual tears which was nice. I don’t know if I‘ll ever rewatch though.

Not good

I don’t really mind the idea of having two people from different countries speak two different languages and understand each other, but imo it was really obvious that the actors didn’t really know what was being said and where just going by script. Or at least that’s what it felt like.
There was really no chemistry at all between the two leads, to a point where I felt uncomfortable watching.

The plot, well idk. It’s a short series so not much can happen but still it all felt very strange.
Strange to a point that it was almost sort of hilarious. So I guess that’s a redeeming quality. I don’t feel bad about finishing it since it was very short afterall.

If you get through the first 10 Episodes, it’s definitely worth it.

Alright so I definitely enjoyed watching this Drama, however I did find the first few (~10) Episodes a little boring to get through, there where some kind of funny scenes, but apart from that nothing was really happening... but I feel like a lot of historical Dramas start out a little dry, so I decided to keep watching and I was not disappointed.

Let’s start off with actors and characters which was my absolutely favourite part about this: I liked all of the choices for the actors, I think they all fit their roles quite well and did a great job at portraying them. Now what I liked about those roles so much was that we (or at least I) got to build some kind of relationship or opinion with almost every character, even the less meaningful ones, so that when something concerning them happened I could actually feel with the plot.

Story: I have not read the book this is based on so I can’t say how this Drama delivered in comparison.
I for one really liked the plot and pretty much every aspect of it. You could hardly ever predict anything or trust anything or anyone. And I really liked that, that’s what kept it interesting for me.
I read some people complaining about how the romance arch developed, and I do understand that, however for the story that was happening I thought it actually fit quite well. And who knows what will happen in the following seasons.
Without spoiling anything, I do agree with the people that said that everything was evolving around the Main Lead a little too much.

Concerning the OST: I absolutely loved the Intro Song, however I do not have any memory at all of the remaining soundtrack, which usually means it was not terrible but also not very memorable.

In the End I do absolutely recommend to give this one a go. To me the plot was refreshing and interesting, with some minor problems.

This was good with a few not so good points

I enjoyed this more than I did the preceding story (right or wrong), the actors we’re all good, the story line was also not bad. I liked both couples and definitely shipped them together.
The storyline itself was also kind of interesting, or let’s say I liked that there was another part to this story apart from love. The characters actually did something/had a life outside of their couple.

For me the problem with this one was that I couldn’t quite follow along with one of the characters mind/feelings and decision making. It would have been nice to kind of see more of him and his thoughts and feelings to understand the choices he made.

Apart from that I really enjoyed watching this.

Might be the most underwhelming out of the History parts, still really entertaining tho

Pretty sure this was the history part with the least action, I still really enjoyed it though.

I loved how the two leads slowly (within the two episodes they had) developed feelings for each other and changed their views towards each other. Nothing really big happened we just saw to characters falling in love under “unusual circumstances” and each of them dealing with it in their own way.
I really liked both actors and to me their chemistry was definitely tangible.

The end could have been a little more “exciting” it still felt nice though and I did not feel like I wasted any time on this.

If you weren’t in love with Park Shin-Hye before you will after.

I am kind of stuck between an 8.5 and a 9 for this one... since some points make me not quite want to give it a nine but it’s also better than an 8.5... I’ll stick with 9 for now, since in the end I really really enjoyed watching this, despite the few things that bothered me.

Cast:
I have always been quite a fan of Park Shin-Hye which makes me kind of sad I did not watch this sooner, since, to me, this might have been one of her best performances, I have seen so far. She showed so many different facets in this one and nailed each one of them. This Drama is definitely not one you should take 100% seriously, she managed to mix seriousness and believability with fun and entertainment so well. Idk I might have fallen in love with her now.
The rest of the cast was also nice, except for the second female lead’s weird eye thing (which is probably nothing she can control so no shame) everything fit really nice.
I had a few doubts about the male lead at first, since he did not really look the part for me at first, however I really grew to love him, especially since his smile was so extremely beautiful, which made the rare moments when his character smiled a thousand times more special.

Story/characters:
This started off so beautifully entertaining, it had me laughing from the first episode and luckily it kept this humour throughout the entire Drama. The storyline itself is vastly unrealistic, but that was absolutely fine since it fit the Drama perfectly.

I loved how the feelings between the two leads developed, and even though it all progressed rather slowly I did not get bored and for the most part it did not feel stretched at all. There were so many cute moments.

We had our typical Drama, caused by the typical reasons, however I did not feel as frustrated with it all as I did in other Dramas, since the characters reacted to the Drama quite reasonable/well (under the circumstances), I did not feel like crashing my head into a wall.
There was a good amount of evil, however not an inhuman amount.

The only thing that I did not like story wise was the ending and the episodes leading up to it. To me that part felt a little too stretched, especially in comparison to how short the ending was. It would have been fine if they’d added one more episode showing what happens after, to give us some time to enjoy the couple and their happiness. This is the main reason I have deducted one point from my rating. The other reason is that there we’re some small scenes that weren’t quite logical (In terms of consistency within the storyline).

I also want to point out how much I loved every single character in this Drama. We had so many different characters that had so many different sides to them, I absolutely loved it. I will point out my personal favourite which is one of the male side characters, his character literally felt like you took a person from the real world and stuck him into the Drama. If Drama characters (due to being Drama characters) didn’t get obvious hints or situations, he’d always be the one who gets them, and then act like he didn’t like everyone else. I absolutely loved this.

The OST to me was kind of disappointing, considering this is a Drama playing within the music business... there we’re very little songs (2?) that just kept on repeating, and I personally didn’t really like both of them that much...

All in all, if you want something entertaining, sweet but also exciting, watch this one, I am almost sure you will not regret.

Not really my cup of tea

This was the part I enjoyed the least out of the history series.
There was nothing wrong with the story itself, it was actually pretty cute, we have one rather “seasoned” character and a rather inexperienced character, going through the process of falling in love together. Both of them growing and learning through their relationship with each other.

To me the problem with this was that it felt a little stretched. If this had been 2 Episodes it would have been really enjoyable, but the 4 episodes felt too long for me, considering their content.
