Kinda surprised no one recommended Late Autumn (2011) earlier... Both stories are completely different, but there are some similarities here and there.

Similarities
-same actress stars in both films
-(spoiler) forbidden relationship between a criminal, and an average guy
-there is a melancholic atmosphere in both films, and will make you sad/cry by the end
-(spoiler)both female leads are suspected/convicted of manslaughter
-both are tragedies in different ways

Differences
-the female lead in Late Autumn (2011) is clearly a good person just placed in unfortunate circumstances, while the female lead in Decision to Leave (2022) is more nefarious, and manipulative... It is clear that she is NOT to be trusted at all in that film.
- there is more of a mystery in Decision to Leave (2022) than Late Autumn (2011) about the female lead's character
-Late Autumn (2011) is more of a hopeful story than Decision to Leave (2022)... That could be my opinion tho

This may not appear similar, but you would definitely like Haunters (2010) if you enjoy A Man Who Was Superman (2008)
Similarities
-A humble average human finds himself called to save, and help other people
-The world is cruel and unkind in both stories
-Both are superhero stories, but not told in the conventional Marvel/DC way
-There is more of a realist perspective in both stories/the fantastical element is limited in both stories
-Both surprisingly are heartfelt with the moral of always helping others

Differences
- (Spoiler) The main leads DOES have superpowers in Haunters (2010), whereas, the main lead believes he is superman in A Man Who Was Superman (2008), in reality, he is just a regular man
-There is a villain in Haunters (2010), and he is a menace. There is technically no villain in A Man Who Was Superman (2008)
-The female lead is a cynic producer in A Man Who Was Superman (2008) while the female lead in Haunters (2010) is a sweet, average girl
-Haunters (2010) is darker than A Man Who Was Superman (2008) while A Man Who Was Superman (2008) will just make you cry
In my opinion, this could easily be a double-feature for both films interesting take of the superhero genre. I WISH there were more "superhero" stories like both these films... Ah well.

Very different films but both give off a fairytale vibe.
Similarities
-The male leads are trapped in a situation they cannot control and must escape in order to return to the girl they love
-There's a sense of mystery and beauty in both films (despite it having a dark theme)
-Both are about children stuck in time.
-Both films tackle the theme of loneliness in a very unique and interesting way
Differences
-The ML in Hansel and Gretel is trapped by the kids, and must figure out a way to escape. In Vanishing time, the ML is one of the kids trapped in time
-Hansel and Gretel is about parental abandonment and abuse, Vanishing Time really focuses on loneliness and accidental social isolation.
-Hansel and Gretel is a horror film and Vanishing Time is not
Both may look very different, but would make a great double feature. I totally recommend both!!

Similarities
-Both dramas are about working class main characters who sneak into the lives of a wealthy household to expose them.
-[mini-spoiler] There is a recluse son that the family is trying to protect. Neither family is good at it either.
- Nothing is as it seems, and there are several plot-twists in both stories
- Both main leads went through a severe trauma that they are trying to make sure never happens again
-Both households have two sons that are essential to the story
-Both stories tackle narcissism, and how it effects everyone around you
Differences
-Kazoku Game's main male lead is a private tutor, whereas, Mitaraike, Enjou Suru is a house-keeper
- Kazoku Game is surprisingly more violent then Mitaraike, Enjoy Suru
-Kazoku Game is more focused on the family drama ,whereas, Mitaraike, Enjoy Suru is a mystery of who exactly burned the house down
-Personally, I think Mitaraike, Enjou Suru has a happier ending then the conclusion of Kazoku Game
I really recommend both dramas if you like dark, psychological thrillers.

Similarities
-Both dramas are centered around water and the diseases surrounding water. In The Silent Sea some characters become infected with the water that is found on the moon and In Happiness, it isn't the water itself that is the problem but it enhances the thirst for blood once the person is infected.
-Both are military themed dramas. In Happiness, the military is quietly trying to solve the zombie outbreak, and in The Silent Sea the Korean government sends a group of capable soldiers to handle the water crisis in South Korea.
-Both have creepy locations where the characters become trapped in. In Happiness, it is an apartment complex, and in The Silent Sea it is a research base on the moon.
Differences
-The Silent Sea is a sci-fi space thriller where the mystery is mostly what happened to the people inside the research lab, and in Happiness, it is a survival drama where the main characters must somehow survive a zombie outbreak inside an apartment complex.
-The virus is much more fatal in The Silent Sea than Happiness. (surprisingly)
-The Silent Sea has a bitter-sweet ending whereas Happiness has a happy ending.
Both shows will keep you at the end of your seat, highly recommend!!

-Both stories are about people stuck in a bus in a continuous time loop
-Both stories are mysteries about what exactly is going on and how to escape the situation
-There's a murderer on the bus and the characters are trying to find out who it is
-Both are made in China and the plots are not very stereotypical for a Chinese drama/film
Differences
-Endless Loop is set in a tunnel and Reset is about a literal time bomb on the bus.
-Although the police are a big part of both dramas, Endless Loop is more of a detective story than Reset is.
-There is a lot more tension between all the characters due to the situation in Endless Loop, whereas, in Reset the main characters are the ones that are trying not to look too 'crazy' to the people around them.
-There's more of a romantic subplot in Reset than Endless Loop.
-Endless Loop is more of a survival film than Reset.
Both stories gave me hope that there can be good films/dramas made in China. Can't wait to find out more hidden gems in the future!!

The main similarity between both dramas is the main characters pretending to be someone they're not. In Angry Mom, a mom pretends to be a high-school student to protect her daughter. In High School King of Savvy is about a high-schooler pretending to be a successful CO.
Warning: Angry Mom is surprisingly a very serious story that doesn't shy away from bullying and child abuse. High School King of Savvy is a goofy comedy that is very weird but has a lot of charm with its characters... The atmosphere is very different but both stories do have a similar theme with the main characters.

-Both films are incredibly nostalgic and heart-warming
-Darren Wang is in both films
-The younger female leads are very naive and can be a bit unpredictable.
-Great cinematography
Differences
-Suddenly Seventeen is way more of a fantasy than Our Times.
-The main female lead in Suddenly Seventeen mentally turns back into her seventeen-year old self whenever eating a chocolate whereas the main female lead is looking back at the regrets of her youth.
- The relationship between the male and female lead is WAY better in Our Times than in Suddenly Seventeen. Not sure if it was the acting or plot, but the main male lead appeared to care less for the female lead throughout the film.
Both films are very charming and still very enjoyable. Worth a watch!!
