Beautiful Drama
I really loved this one. The cinematography, mood set-ups, music and much of the dialogue were really fantastic. I thought Ji Soo and really all the actors did a great job. But Ji Soo, in particular, can bring the tears to my eyes every time. He's just a master at emoting the heartbreak in everything I've seen him in. Sure, the ending is a bit of a let-down, but it was actually better than I expected considering all the circumstances, and I will watch the finale episode again as it was really good. Plus, I have a good imagination and in my mind the very end was even better than depicted. Was this review helpful to you?
Great action and acting
This movie has some heartbreaking and jaw dropping aspects to it, but was interesting to watch - riveting, actually. I did turn off the TV and tried to sleep about half-way through as it was way past my bedtime, but couldn't do it. I just had to turn it back on and find out how it ended. Woke up today still thinking about different aspects, especially the brilliant acting and action and the disturbing plotline. I hope there is a special place in hell for those who sell children (or anyone else) for organ harvesting. Was this review helpful to you?
Utterly Sublime
I was riveted by this drama from almost the first moment - BOTH times I watched, about 8 months apart. Excellent in every particular, I simply love it. I have seen perhaps 150 Asian dramas by now, and if I finished them, I pretty much loved them. Autumn's Concerto is definitely in my Top Three or me, along with Scarlet Heart Ryeo and Descendants of the Sun. Van Wu is still invading my dreams periodically, so talented and gorgeous. Superb drama; if you love a great story, great acting, a precious romance, lots of character development and adorable children, give this one a try.Was this review helpful to you?
One of the best I've seen yet
I have around 200 KDramas under my belt by now, and I have rewatched quite a few of my favorites as well. Sandglass is one I will revisit at least once, and very likely more, in spite of the fact that it is frequently gut wrenchingly painful. It is also brilliant, one of the most meaningful ones I've seen, if not THE most meaningful. I was very happy to learn about this period of Korea's recent history, though I had already touched on it with the movie "A Taxi Driver." The three leads in this story were simply brilliant, especially (for me) the guys - they simply blew me away, leaving me weeping real tears, which almost never happens when I watch anything. At any rate, the writing and acting and even the music were fantastic and I can't recommend this drama enough. Was this review helpful to you?
Utterly Unforgettable
Out of the 100 or so Korean Dramas I've watched in the past 18 months, this is one that I will never forget as long as I live. I thought it was as near perfection as a drama can get. Everything about it was impressive, from the story to the sets to the acting to the message. Sweet, moving, hilarious and precious. I fell in love with the whole cast, and now want to watch everything many of them have done. The young people as well as the seasoned vets put on a show that won't fail to impress you, I promise. I also want to give kudos to the writer(s) of this brilliant slice of life drama. It just doesn't get much better than this. Was this review helpful to you?
One of my very favorites, out of hundreds of good Kdramas watched.
I was unsure of this one at first, because I'd never heard of anyone in the cast except Kim Woo Bin. And I didn't think the lead men were particularly handsome, either. But, because it was written by the brilliant writer of Descendants of the Sun and many other great and popular dramas, I decided to give it a shot. Honestly, I thought it was brilliant. Witty, engrossing, screamingly funny, romantic, well acted, and very moving. Can't really think of many I liked better than this, and will definitely watch it again with my bestie in a month or two. By the end of this drama, I was in love with this whole very talented cast, and grew to think all of the lead males were adorable. I just can't gush enough, really, but I will spare you and stop now. Except to say that if you're on the fence, WATCH IT. Bet you'll binge it all in a few days. It took me less than four, and I lost some sleep over it.Was this review helpful to you?
