A breath of fresh air
wow, I can't believe that 16 one-hour episodes are gone like this. Why could we not have 20 more? I currently feel empty (maybe it's because of the number of times I've cried).
I have to say I was very reluctant going into this show. I've never been one to enjoy medical drama and frankly am usually disgusted when operation scenes show up on my screen. I think this show cured me. It is also bizarre that I went into the second season before the first one but I wanted to watch this one because of the main lead. And then I stayed for basically the whole cast. I don't think there was someone misplaced in this show. Every crew member worked to give us this beautiful show.
I understand that this might not be better than the first season (from what I've seen in the comments) but I've laughed, cried, smiled, was sad and got also angry. I think for me this is what makes a good show. If you can evoke those emotions from your listeners, then you've done your job.
Story: There's quite a lot of show that uses the "ML from big city moves to small city", so I don't think it was anything new but I'm also not someone stops watching a show if a plot point has been used before. If the writers and directors are able to use this storyline well, then I'm happy to watch. We get to see a lot of real people dealing with real struggles. I also really like seeing the character's arc throughout the show. Some of them were redeemable and some I just wanted to through in the trash (I'm looking at you Dr. Yang Ho Joon). I usually like to have a strong female representation, but I think showing how the FL got from being week and unable to do her job and getting to where she was at the end was much more realistic in this situation.
Cast: I don't have anything to say on this part. I think everyone did an amazing job. I seriously felt like I was a fly on the wall and was experiencing their lives with them. I do hope that if there's a season 3, that I get to see them again.
Music: I don't know if it's just me but I usually don't pay too much attention to the music when I'm watching a show. Usually, if I'm noticing the music it could either mean that the song choice was so poorly chosen or that I really like the song. I think for this show there was one time that I noticed the song and I like it, so I would say that's a good job on their part.
Rewatch Value: ABSOLUTELY!
Overall: I'm not good at reviews. But if someone stumbles on this one and is looking for their next drama to watch, please pick it up. I'm actually going to pick the first season soon as I want to get the full context.
