Many scenes in the novel not included in the drama, even though it was very funny and the highlight that give sense to the romance development between Lu Sicheng and Tong Yao.. so the drama feel very clipped, as some feel just really lost..
And in the story one of the main joke is that Tong Yao is a shorty with childlike appearance, and this will attributed how Lu Sicheng teased for dating an underage etc.. but the actress is obviously a beauty with long legs. Well physically is not important I guess as long as Tong Yao is well potrayed, but honestly Tong Yao in drama is very stiff and expresionless most of the time.
But Xu Kai really did a good job as Lu Sicheng, maybe because he is veteran actor. So the chemistry is not very bad, but maybe because Tong Yao in my mind is a very spirited, witty, and an adorkable so the drama version feel uncomfortable to wacth, and many Tong Yao's scenes changed or clipped to accomodate the drama so it contributed to the feel as well
Third is the animation, though its very good CSI, but if the viewers doesn't had understanding in the game, not knowing the difference of heroes and skills, and not even know who is who the player was.. then the animation just very confusing to watch..
But to be fair though not as exciting as reading the original novel this drama still one of my rewacth list, because im sucker for any esport and atleast FIYS is still acceptable and exciting rom-com esport in term of plot..

MY MOST FAV ML EVER!!
Uhh writing this with my tears still falling out, the ending is very beautiful and honestly the best as I think forced romance in their current stage of life indeed feel unrealistic.. but it doesn't mean i dont want to curse the director for not including some fluffy epilouges! Well guess they save it for season 2 but honestly if they dont use the same casts then I really not enthusiastic to wacth it. The drama beautiful for the story and strong chemistry between actors and their brilliant characters potrayal so it will make a big different if use different people for it..By the way though i like all chara but the carry of this show definitely the ML! Uh let just say how happy im that the ML is not the usual cold straight A guy, but the guy that seem very second lead-ish.. as he is cheerful, positive sunshine boy that very street smart and gifted genius. Honestly all this time usually my fav ML is type of badboyish, sarcasm but very sweet inside person, but for the first time my heart just melted away by the kind hearted guy.. Well, Hua Biao not naively kind or anything but between their gank of friend he is maybe the most unfortunate, well everyone have their own problem but if compared with ML's its heartwrenching that all his friend's problems seem to be your normal spoiled teenager drama, but ML had to shoulder sickly eldery who is your only family that you have, financial problem etc so he is extremly sensible and responsible person .. But the most amazing thing is despite his circumstances how optimistic, cheerful, confident, kind hearted, hardworking in life and study but he is not pretentious at all.. in fact he is flexible as he can be cunning or break some rule when needed too, very loyal with his friends.. His way of loving a girl is not become territorial but become her best support, protecting her and keep encouraging her even though actually her problems seem very childish compared with his mountain of problems.. His smile is medicine for anything as it never falter and always shine brighly.. So his emotial breakdown is really tear jerking, i really crying hard for ML and grandma scenes.. Hua Biao, let me hug you okay ??
I can go on and on about Hua Biao, he is just very beautiful person ah.. In real life we met many people, and understand that human is not perfect, and some time the imperfectness just ugly, sometime its just make a person.. normal. But between those many people you sometime found one or two person, that is like a shining diamond between river stones.. Hua Biao is such diamond if he really come to my life.. The actor really did amazing job too, his aura and emotional potrayal just so poignant and spot on. So if there is season two please please just please for the same actor juseyo..
FL is quite a dumb head at first, she come from very different family circumstances from ML, so she is spoiled and childish, and made some blunder where what she think as harmless pranks actually can give serious consequences toward ML, though ML never blame her.. I think I can get where ML come from. When you are experienced life's bitterness that shredded many of your naivety, then FL's carefree and innocent childish either make you envy or want to protect such blank paper from being stained, I think the ML is both, how much he envy his friends with their parents around to cheer or trashing your exam result, maybe so much.. so it really show how amazing his self control is to never shout at his friend when they were throwing childish tantrum "Can you stop your sh*t?! At least you have parent, i dont!" LoL
Btw FL step by step become more sensible in the end, so does second ML.. honestly though i dont ship Yan Xi and Li Yu but this is one of painful thing depicted in the drama that when you grown up, you had to let go of many things, Two people that grow up joined in the hips, practically faced everything together, and even some feeling had to involved.. in the end, you had to accept it .. that you grow distant and separated.. (Thankfully Li Yu is in another drama where he and his childhood sweetheart have HE romance there)
Aaaah this cant do! I need season two because really need the mature version of Hua Biao and Yanxi finally in mature relationship, Yanxi and Liyu become friend again, Yan Zhao and He Mei, Huang Deng Deng and Situ Ertao.... their family too.. And more and more my sweet sweet sweet Hua Biao!!

Yeah fairytale .. anyone have memory of the legendary Thai movie that you watched in school alongside your anime collection, A Little Thing Called First Love ? Aah even till today I cant forget how beautiful the actress was, truly a legendary glow up story XD.. So this drama is a remake from that movie. Honestly at first im not really excited as this remake is not the first one, so the plot line quite overused. But I decided to give it a try as the opening song is just so nice, and aah that the best decision ever, currently when writing this review, already rewatched the drama for the Nth time..
Contrary to my worry that the plot line is overused, the drama give a very fresh feeling. The casts, the setting, the fashion, the hairstyle, the ost even the story line though a remake, but written very thoughtfully that you dont want to miss any moments and always anticipated what will happen next.
Casts : 10/10 . Let just say how shocked I was to know that the leads just in their 17-18 years old, because their acting and chemistry is so moving ah! Angel Zhao's definitely able to perfectly potray her role from a super shy 'ugly duckling' ,to step by step become more confident and independent girl.. the feeling and facial expression just so spot on and her eyes always able to tug your heart string. Such natural born actress and she is still so young too. And Kuanlin is such perfect visual. His eye really beautiful ah.. Kuanlin's acting not perfect but he still able to potray the maturity and depth of Liang You Nian character. After this drama the bad-boy-is-my-type principle just crumbled away by the mature, kind but reserved Liang Shixiong O.o
The other casts is really lovable too, love the friendship mixed with love drama as its not so heavy but rather it give a push to everyone's story to really pursue the one you really love. I love all the couples, well though maybe i still not really like Kai Tao and i hope Xinxin give him more of hard time LoL.. And btw i cant believe they dont give A Xia a male partner at all, she is such a mother fairy and love doctor for everyone, she deserved her own romance, okay!
Fashion : 9.5/10 . This is one of important factor for the 'freshness' feel. I just love their style. As this is college drama, their clothes is casual wear. ML is so suave, his hair style is so perfect for him. FL, because have to empathize the glow up progress, have many different styles through the drama. My fav is the one with long, curly noodle hair, with casual stylish shirt and jeans. So cute!! But the queen is definitely He Xin, her white furry dress, that one a must have collection!
OST : 10/10. The opening song is one of ost that you dont want to skip in every eps, love the instrumental version too. And the one sung by Wang Yi Chou. All the osts just matching the scenes and the story perfectly.
The scenic views and unforgettable moments : This drama have it. I love how their story is started in light house and beach, that just nostalgic and poignant. And how i can recall many moments in this drama, that showed how touching it is. One of the example is when You Nian announce his relationship with MiaoMiao to public. And i love too how heartwrenching or intense scenes suddenly interrupted by comedy break .. that make this drama light hearted without much trying to be funny but still can give a moving undercurrent of the character's depth and emotion while not make us too sad.
Overall this drama is a fulfilling one for me with balanced romance, friendship, family and school life. And I think this give positive messeges too how love can make us better, but its still important to pursue our own dream and to love yourself so you can love other without burden because you love so helplessly and selflessly. Like ML for his family and FL and He Xin for their crush.
So this is definitely in my top of cdrama, one that you just cant but to watch again and again and still marvel how beautiful it is everytime..

Well, the first reason i picked this drama is because I love esport, in real life, in novel and now spread to drama as well. Its really delighted me that this drama have strong esport presence, maybe not so of the gaming element but more of inspiring journey of professional gamer and other important career around esport event, the media and the commentator. FL is an ambitious reporter who met the professional gamer ML in a gaming competition.. in not so good atmosphere LOL. So they dont have good first impression of each other.. More so ML is suspicious by nature and somehow pragmatic, awhile FL is a bit hypocritical as well.. they were not in a good term at first, but dont worry their misunderstanding of each other slowly resolved.. Even though he is a bit mean toward her, i feel like ML cannot fully blamed as we introduced with FL's back story and why she is so ambitious in her career.. and maybe i was influenced by his motorcycle and leather jacket, somehow i feel like how he teased her with his evil smirk quite cute lol..But regretfully for me romance is not the best element of this drama, as the two leads chemistry though cute and heart warming, not mind blowing.. well , maybe im biased as the plot line have a very thing i hate, indecisive entanglement! So it just ruin the build up sweetness between CP, and then without much explanation but just another annoying misunderstanding come the rushed ending.. so in the end not even Wang Yibo's handsomeness in motorcycle can save this drama's ML from my -romantic- blacklist.
But even if the romance is not my taste, this drama still have very good storyline from esport perspective. ML is very inspiring as though he is excellence gamer and best strategist but his career is a stumble block with pressure from public and his team management.. In the end he had to start everything over again.. Yeah almost the same with Ye Xiu's story in TKA.. In here we can see through the badass and care nothing attitude, actually ML is very thoughtful and responsible toward his aspiration and people around him.. So he able to lead many people to believe him, for example his rival, that actually a fanboy that obsessed with him LOL.. But this is his flaw as well, at least when he faced his private matter, his consideration can be regarded as indecisive, that in the end hurt FL..
FL is a girl that win with her determination.. From a girl that know nothing about esport to an accomplished gaming commentator.. Like ML, her career is not smooth sailing as she faced work nepotism and many public criticism. . As we know her family situation, we understand that FL is not as cheerful as she look and where her longing to be succesful come from.. But though she is ambitious in her career, she still handle it in positive attitude.. Though in the end she had to experience doubt, pressure and even harrasement.. In this, ML and FL is quite relatable, they are not perfect people that have beautiful journey in reaching their dream.. But their entaglement give each other support and streght when they are in their lowest.. Honestly ML's affection look subtle, but their promise to reach the top together is very sweet as it can be regarded their promise to be always together till the end.. So actually this will be a very sweet romance if ML's not so indecisive in handling his past lover and create many misundersta ding.. The drama doesn't give through explanation as well so in the end I feel like plot is cliche.. Honestly the conflict is so unnecessary, what is the script writer thinking?
So this drama is bittersweet one.. but the acting is still very commendable.. esp many side characters have their depth as well with their own story.. My fav definitely Pei Xi, the cutest guy ever lol.. He is so lack in EQ so he make himself seem to be against ML , even though he just want to be with his idol.. we can see his character growth in the story, from a self centered person who doesn't care what other people say -because he is EQ deprived alien- to be a person that can have good teamwork with other.. The other is FL's brother, that shed his innocent sunshine boy persona because of accident.. The senior team, that is hilarious retired players.. and second CP that is FL's bff with ML's support player, quite a comedic relief as well..
The OST is not memorable, just nice enough.. but the opening song have a cacthy intro that jolt you up “oh, this is anothe eps” feeling..
Well in term of work, though maybe not in the same level of Untamed, but this is still Wang Yibo's memorable work.. He is so handsome ah, I had to stress that motorcycle and leather jacket that shook me with such visual feast once again LOL
