Confused

Overall the idea was good. The plot, though overused and repeated often, is still a good trope. The first hour and a half had a genuinely good story.

The last 20-30 minutes, though...

I'm beyond confused as to what they wanted to portray. The last scene honestly made the entire show go down the drain for me. (not in a bad way) I just found myself so distraught and caught off guard. They went through multiple incredibly traumatic events but Jae-Min's thought was to... grope him? Why did he grab the poor man's balls? why was that the end?

I genuinely had to do a double take and burst out laughing. Overall it was a good storyline, the end just..
wow

maybe they intended it to be sentimental or tie back to how they met, but I've never been more caught off guard at the end of a movie.

The meaning is beautiful.

This story genuinely moved me.

As for the plot: It was beautifully executed and had a cute idea behind it. I thoroughly enjoyed the game aspect of it. But past just the game aspect, it's really easy to see past what's going on. so here I am to nerd out about how sweet this drama really is.

When he first starts the game: As a viewer, he makes it seem as though he joined the game to help Yeowoon. he "pitied" him. He is given the mission "Make Yeowoon Happy" with the penalty of death and a timer. This likely represents the human urge to help those around us. it also likely urges towards the idea that Myungha had anxiety. (that part was kind of obvious).
As he goes through the story, he found himself in more and more pain trying to make Yeowoon Happy. It's an awful push-pull game that both of them recognize. Yeowoon eventually calls him out tho, saying "you don't know how to receive love." and that broke Myungha.
So he gives up trying to make Yeowoon Happy, and sacrifices himself. he gives up his life, with his final wish or 'edit to the game' being that Yeowoon is happy.
When he leaves the game, he comes to the void where he faces someone unfamiliar. They discuss what Myungha really wants. Myungha says he wants to live a long life with Yeowoon.

The game notification pops up and changes his mission.

"Make Myungha Happy."

and that moment was what truly broke me. Not once throughout the show was he truthfully worried about himself. He didn't know how to receive love because he didn't love or care for himself.

The MINUTE that the goal changed, he knew what he had to do. He ran to get Yeowoon. This scene almost directly mimics the first episode, showing a rebirth of mentality.

As soon as they see eachother again with the new mission, they are able to happily be together.

Myungha was unable to make Yeowoon Happy because he wasn't truly happy himself. It was only when he realized his happiness was important that he was able to be

happy.

Oh how I love a great show with an even greater meaning.

Just get past episode 10!!

This show is genuinely one of my favorite shows I've ever watched. I love dramas/movies that make absolutely ZERO sense until the very end when it all clicks together. I can understand why some people wouldn't like a show like that, so I'm not saying this is a must-watch for everyone; HOWEVER, I have NO regrets from watching this. I actually think I'm gonna rewatch it again soon.

The ONLY complaint I have about this show is it's ending. I think this show would gain quite a bit if it added a second season. A little bit of explanation or a little more romance is what I'd ask for. 100% recommend!

"To your uncle, 8 isn't a number. it's infinity."

I've watched this series every week since the day episode one came out. I originally started it because I enjoyed the actors, but I quickly fell in love with the plot. Throughout the story, you get to see how generational trauma can have a strong hold on people. Even down to the last episode, Tongrak suffered due to his past. I found this feature incredibly realistic. many shows like this show characters "coping" with trauma and getting over it in just a few episodes, and it can often feel like a mockery to real trauma. this story did a wonderful job. 10/10. (8/10 for Tongrak)

Beautiful story

I watched the movie a year or so ago and wished it had gone a little bit further. I felt it stopped right in the middle of a perfectly good story. I was so excited to find out they were making it into a drama and adding more story to it.

I personally love this story because it hit really close to home. I am friends with multiple deaf/hard of hearing people and have seen them experience similar issues. I thoroughly enjoy seeing Taichi stand up for Kohei the way he does. The character development is really strong and frankly realistic. The show does a really good job at progressing the story without making unrealistic character changes (ex. randomly changing their values to change the plot).

The acting through the entire show was wonderful. The story itself was beautiful. I am definitely gonna rewatch this with one of my HoH friends. <3
