I just finished watching it and I can't stop thinking about it. It had a very short length. I could watch 30 episodes of an hour to be honest. The actors are so good, I wonder why the male lead, despite being a great actor and good looking, has not gotten other big projects. He was 10/10. The FL is also cute and perfect for her role. I binged watch it. Tbh I really like dramas from Chinese republican era, they always have things to do with military and those costumes are also fantastic. I am a fan of the actors now and it's sad that they have not starred as leads in other dramas. The story was so good. The male lead might seem ruthless and annoying in start but he had reason to do that. He was sincere and protective of the FL. It felt bad how he was pretending to be rude and murderous while in reality he was a sensitive and caring person yet again he thought he had to do that to protect his loved ones. I understand why some people find it cliche but to me it was fun. The ending was bittersweet but it was also fine. Many people speculate that there will be a season 2 but I don't think so. I am glad that I watched it and I would recommend to those who can bear to watch love story that might seem overdone but is addictive.
