An exciting "tail" of romance, action and suspense, definitely worth watching!
I came to watch this after seeing Goblin and completely falling in love with Lee Dong Woo. He is such a charismatic actor and he really portrays his characters so well. I immediately felt the dynamic between the two lead protagonists, it was so natural and well written, and the emotional rollercoaster of family bonds between the fox brothers was very well done too. This is the first drama I have seen with Kim Bum in and I was completely awed by his performance, even more so after I looked him up and found out this was his first job after his discharge from the army. I find the fact that he can go straight back into acting after such a long break, and with a challenging role at that having to portray a character with so much emotional baggage is really impressive, and a testament to his talent as an actor. And lets not forget about the support characters, I think they did a fab job of choosing this cast, they all really did such an amazing job, all the actors seemed so invested in their characters and it showed in their portrayals.Thats enough gushing over the actors, what about the plot...
I find Asian folklore fascinating so the storyline really appealed to me and I loved what they did with it, I am all for plots that take legendary creatures and characters from traditional literature and drop them into modern settings, so my review may be a little biased since all the elements of this series were already bound to appeal to my tastes. T
hat being said...I CANNOT STRESS ENOUGH HOW MUCH I LOVED THIS SERIES!!!!!
I loved every second of it, I didn't think there was a moment that the story dragged, there were some good plot twists and many moments that had me on the edge of my seat, and many more that put a smile on my face, the little touches of comedy were refreshing in an otherwise very suspenseful setting. I liked how the story wasn't all tragic or all bitter or all hopeful, even though its a fantasy there were elements of the plot, the relationships in particular, that felt very real and gave our characters some humanity.
The only criticism I could possibly give this (and its so minor it barely even counts as a criticism) was the ending, I have noticed this with a few other dramas where the characters go through so much and have to fight to achieve their goals throughout the series, then at the end they are just given a happy ending so easily due to some miraculous event or whatever, I think it just sort of makes light of all the struggles they had to go through. Even though I did cry, and I still appreciated how it turned out, it still just seemed a little too easy. I might not be making much sense, I don't know how to explain it better without giving major spoilers, you might get what I mean but either way I still give the series 10/10
I could go on and on about this but then it would just become tiresome to read. Please don't let the bad reviews put you off, I thought this was a brilliant series and definitely worth watching, if not for the plot then for the fabulous bromance between Lee Yeon and Lee Rang.

A fun comedy that keeps you hooked with suspense...
I really enjoyed this series, I was unsure wether to watch it or not because I had other things on my list I had wanted to see for a while, but I am so glad I watched this sooner rather than later. The thought the concept was very interesting and well though out, the comedy was spot on and the suspenseful, action filled parts keep the plot fresh and interesting and stops it getting monotonous. This is the first drama I have seen with Choi Jin Hyuk and Park Ju Hyun and I can now say with confidence I am a fan of both of them, they played their parts so well, I can imagine its not easy to play a zombie with an actual personality but Jin Hyuk took that obscure role and gave us a zombie that the audience can fall in love with. Our zombie is perfectly complemented with Ju Huns portrayal of the quirky headstrong Sun Ji, I found her to be really fun and relatable and I like how the characters brought out the best in each other, it was a really star combo so props to the writers and the actors who created these characters and brought them to life.
The plot was well rounded and there were no points where anything felt unfinished or underdeveloped, everything was concluded nicely but with an openness to the ending that could finish perfectly well as it is or lead on to a sequel which I really hope we get as there is definitely potential to take this series further.
So if your unsure wether to watch this, don't hesitate, give it a go and i'm sure you won't regret it... There's a fun little cameo from A.C.E too so Kpop fans look forward to that. ;)

Don't let the bad reviews put you off, it has its issues but its defiantly worth watching.
I'll start by saying it's a shame there are a lot of negative reviews about this because I actually enjoyed the series and I don't regret watching it, in the first few episodes I was quite confused but then things did start to pick up and aspects of the plot got more interesting and quite exciting. However, the reason I didn't score higher is because I did have some issues with the series. As other people have said, there are a few plot holes that never get fully explained, but that doesn't really detract too much from the enjoyably of the show, yes it was disappointing to see that lack of detail in the writing, but I personally didn't mind as much. There were many exciting moments that had me at the edge of my seat, and if you view the series as a crime thriller/ suspense/ murder mystery rather than a supernatural series, then you can see it is actually quite good, except for the ending, but i'll get to that in a bit.
I think the main reason people criticised the plot was because of how they did the supernatural elements. The whole thing about how Cha Min gets the abyss just seems a bit pathetic to me, and the fact that the ones that give it to him never reaper throughout the rest of the series (except the tiny bit at the end) doesn't make sense. I don't get what people are saying about Abyss not being relevant to the plot when it is shown or talked about in every episode, but I can understand their frustration on how it was never really explained about very well.
The REAL problem with the series was the ending!!! it seemed like such a forced scramble to make sure they had a happy ending that seems as if they put no thought into how it would end. Don't let that put you off watching but just be prepared for a really stupid last episode, they seriously could have done so much better with that. I think it would have been better to finish on a cliffhanger with the trial still going, (it was far to quick to be realistic) and "someone" still missing (I'm trying to avoid too serious spoilers here) then have a second season to fully flesh out all those plot details and have a better conclusion for the characters return, instead of it simply being 'oh hey i'm back, I missed you, this is what happened'.
One other thing I would have loved to see more of is the developing relationship between Cha Min and Se Yeon in the past not just their romance as adults. I would have liked to have seen more flashbacks of them becoming close friends as kids, and how Cha Min was there for Se Yeon instead of just repeatedly telling us that they were childhood friends.
Now onto the true saving grace of the series that made me enjoy watching.... The cast!
The character portrayals in this series was amazing, hats off to the casting director because the actors really play their parts beautifully. I'm a big fan of Park Bo Young and I think she is a brilliant actress and can really deliver the emotion her character is feeling. This is the first thing I have seen with Ahn Hyo Seop and I will defiantly go check out more of this work no I have seen this. And the rest of the cast too, Lee Sung Jae, Lee Si Eon, Han So Hee and Kwon Soo Hyun all portrayed their roles so brilliantly it just goes to show that the cast can really make the show, even if people had a problem with the plot, it can't be denied that the actors did a great job.
