How got into just any international show watching

How got into Asian dramas overall.
  • Mid year 2018:

  •  First saw Thai drama; perfect match and I found it by recommendation part of YouTube, and I ended up loving the story, and everything about it. It was sweet, short, and also had other stories connected that went after.

  • mid year 2018:

  • I ended up completing the whole series of Ugly duckling, and forgot about it for some weeks, until I was recommended on YouTube the U-Prince; The playful Comm-arts That led to the other 8 or so dramas connected to that one. That took me around 1 and a half months to complete.
  • Also the idea with the whole uniforms, and the university setting was all so, can't find a word for it. But all I can say is that I had never watched anything like it, and fount to sweet an cute.
  • I wasn't really thinking about the idea of it being a international show, so I didn't really look for more dramas/movies from Thailand.  So didn't watch any for some months.
  • Beginning 2019:

  • Then somehow came across You're beautiful, I really don't know how, but I did. That's just how the internet it. You're researching biology homework, then you're at memes of ducks flying(idk, just something random lol)
  • I binged watched You're beautiful in 2 weeks, and absolutely loved it.
  • And since I liked the whole lost twin idea from You're beautiful, and the whole thing with her being in disguise in the boy band, I ended up watching To the beautiful you. Same Idea, except this one is centered around school. Wait I remember details now, so I had watched this YouTube video on like a multi-drama compilation thing and saw this one scene, and decided to watch it, also cause same as the drama above.
  • Yeah this show was cheesy and all, but so cute
  • Then since kind of became addicted to the concept of the girl disguised as boy, I watched Arsenal Military Academy. Honestly I didn't know that it was from China, but that's when I noticed the differences in language, and culture

Then all of 2020:

  • And that's when I found Goblin. And of course that set everything for me. I was like that's it, I'm a goner. I started watching historical k dramas, and that was really interesting to me, so then after that I just
I started watching historical k dramas, and that was really interesting to me. My first historical one was Empress Ki, followed by Splash Splash Love. That's when I had to find a place to watch Empress Ki, and found Rakuten Viki, for which is so helpful. It made finding dramas after that easier.

Middle 2020:

  • I started finding Japanese shows, because of remake of You're beautiful, and then started watching those too
  • My first Japanese drama was The Black Devil and White Prince

(still in progress)

Some people ask for good movies made in the US. So here's a few. (None are found on my drama list)- message me for the location of movie

Action Sci-fi : 'Cloverfield'. 'Cloverfield paradox'(well made. Don't look at the summery, just trust me and watch). 'Extraction'(almost like a video game).

Action:  'The Old Guard'. 'The Terminator'(series of movies. All are good).  '6 underground'.

Sci-fi Drama  'See you Yesterday'. Jumper

Adventure:  'Time Trap'(again don't look at summery, just watch. Its definitely one of those movies that takes awhile for the plot to get to its point, however its one of those precious rare movies that are never really made. )

Horror thriller 'Happy death day'. Also the second one. Similar to happy death day is 'Before I fall'. 'Russian Doll'

Odd film/movies that have big twist on it: 'In Captivity'. ' The Truman Show ' Also any 'Black Mirror' episode. Each have an odd twist on it. "Fall" as well

sad: “cast away”.

Favorites: ‘Words on bathroom walls’(best acting I’ve seen in a long time, beautifully done, was crying lol) the proposal’, ‘the map of tiny perfect things’, ‘the giver’ ,

Looper - Havent watched it yet, but heard its good, will give feedback on it when I watch it later

Memes :) - 'cause why not?

Ki Seung Nyang  in Empress KI. Actress: Ha Ji Won.

Jo Ji Ah in I'm not a robot. Actress: Chae Soo Bin.

Jeremy in You're beautiful. Actor: Lee Hong Ki. Honestly haven't watched any of his other movies/shows, but him in you're beautiful was perfect, and definitely is a favorite.
