I've been seeing a lot of comments (on YouTube) saying that the acting was bad, but I don't think that was the main problem. Instead of saying the acting was the worst part, I'd say that it was actually the story itself that made it seem like the acting was bad. I do see that the movie was probably trying to show how a college student boldly gets into a homosexual relationship in China, where homosexuality is looked down upon, but the movie skips too many important details, which makes the characters seem unreal. This could have easily been solved if there were more scenes and/or dialogue among the main characters so they'd have more depth to make this movie worth watching.

I'd say if you have over an hour of free time and have no more recommended dramas to watch, then watch this movie. I appreciate its efforts in making the movie about a homosexual couple, since China is, as far as I know, generally homophobic. However, the quality isn't as good as I had hoped it would be.

First off, I'd like to point out that the details section and another review say that one of the main characters, Tao Ye, is straight, but his sexual orientation is actually not completely clear, at least for me. This ambiguity is one of the main reasons that kept me watching because I relentlessly wanted to find out. It's definitely worth watching if you're interested in BL (boys' love), so you can also try to decide for yourself what you think Tao Ye's sexual orientation is, once you finish watching.

Since it's only about 2 hours long in total, the drama seemed to only be able to get in the main points/scenes across without dwelling much on every main characters' lives/thoughts. However, this didn't really harm the overall quality. It perfectly depicts how people in China view homosexuality and nicely illustrates the (love) life of a gay teen living in a traditional Chinese household. The story was full of twists and turns that made me go from being so happy for the main character, Xu Zhengxi, to being so sad for him that I wanted to comfort him myself if it were possible.

The story was good enough to make me love the song near the end of the movie. The lyrics are amazing when seen/heard in context. That itself is an accomplishment.

As the other review says, the friendships are precious. The good ones make you adore the characters, and the rough ones... keep you watching. I sympathize so much with the main character and thought that the conflicts were unsolvable without someone getting hurt.

As I've said in the beginning, I highly recommend watching this drama. It's not that long, the boys are cute, and there aren't many dramas from China that focus on homosexuality, so I find this to be one of the better ones.
