One the best dramas.. PERIOD

I didn’t watch part 2 for a long time because I wasn’t ready to say goodbye. But it’s been exactly 1 year since the first airing so it seemed like the best day to start & finish part 2. It deservedly won awards and acclaim, because there’s nothing bad to say about it. Acting - best of the best from EVERYONE, story - I was in tears most of the time, cinematography - wonderful, especially the last episode, action - interesting & powerful.

Maybe the only thing that was missing was seeing the leads live a happy life together, get (officially) married and have kids. Janghyun was the greenest flag to exist, kind and empathetic, a true hero. Gilchae was such a complicated & layered character that really grew to be mature and loveable. Her kindness, grit and will to survive was amazing, one the best female leads in drama history.

I’m so happy it gave us a happy ending, unlike many dramas in this genre. THEY DESERVE TO HAPPY ?

The haters are crying hehe!

I like how it had lots of representation as well as diverse gay men (some stereotypical and non-stereotypical portrayals). The story was really well paced, I was surprised by good character growth in just 2 episodes, and the cinematography + lighting was just MAGICAL. All the actors did so well, I was fully immersed in every scene. Even the balance between comedy, happiness, cutesy and sadness was so good. Everyone should give this a chance.

Underrated crime-detective mystery

I maybe saw one tweet about this show, but I found it randomly scrolling for a new show. This show will 100% infuriate you. I was pulling my hair out for entire episodes, I was screaming at the tv at times, but I’m glad I watched it. This show is so gripping and feels so real in its unfairness but also I can’t believe people could behave in such ways. The entire cast is golden and the mystery solving is paced really well. Highly recommend.

Realistic and diverse stories

One thing I really loved about this drama is how positive, welcoming and loving all the families are. You don’t need to explain “why” they are so encouraging, because healthy family support is normal. It doesn’t mean the characters aren’t written well, but its written realistically. From Jieun’s dad letting her be independent but always checking on her, to Seonho’s parents being supportive in their own way and always encouraging her, to Joseph’s mom being his biggest fan and always involved in helping him.
There are queer stories too. One being basically soulmates but one side’s family not being supportive. Whereas Joseph has always been seen and loved for who he is by his family and friends.
I’m not that into fashion but the dialogues really hit me when they were taking about their passion for their jobs and why they think its important in society.
I like that not everyone is going through the same things. If one person is sad, the others may be really happy. It felt so real (lmao). I liked that the main leads didn’t have some crazy love story, but its so normal. They’re high school sweethearts, the best of friends, and they just never fell out of love after their breakup. I literally have friends like that lol.
Lastly, I have to say, the finale runway was just amazing. From the concept, to design, to the clothes and the models, I was blown away. I got goosebumps when Seonho walked in that finale dress.
So I’d definitely recommend this drama for laughs, cute romantic moments and warm friendships!

Might even be better than Season 1

Tbh I enjoyed season 1 only after the detective duo started working together properly, so S1 just got better towards the end. I actually prefer watching Season 2 more as everyone’s dynamics have been clearly written and we can just move straight into solving crimes instead of introducing the main cast. Also I think the first 3 mysteries this season are my all time favourite from this series, especially the first one is so time & detail oriented, it’s written very well. The other mysteries are also so interesting! The last mystery is perhaps the least intriguing, but had a satisfying conclusion.

Being more case solving this season is a detriment to further developing the main casts’ relationships. Frankly, none of their relationships actually go anywhere and not much happens. I hope they balance it out better in the next season (for which I’m very excited for!)

The mobster of our dreams!

I saw the growing hype around this show online so I went in with high expectations. The first episode is very unique in its style of comedy that might make you not want to continue BUT BARE WITH IT AND WATCH FOR ONE OF THE BEST SHOWS OF THE YEAR. You slowly get used to style of rom-com and it’s gets funnier and cuter with every minute. The shift from noir to cutesy is so well done, especially by Taegoo (male lead). He truly carries both sides of the show, but you can fully immerse in it due to Sunhwa’s (female lead) portrayal of her character. Yes, some supporting characters are trope-y but they are so lovable. There are MANY tropes in the story but it’s well done and doesn’t bore the viewers. Just get ready to squeal, twirl your hair and kick your feet watching this amazing drama!

P.s I can’t believe this is Taegoo’s first ever rom-com role, he’s so brilliant in it. BOOK HIM MORE COMEDY ROLES!

The hype was deserved

I had seen this go viral everywhere but didn’t have time to watch it then (thank god because waiting a whole week for an epi wld have been so hard). The story is messy, as it’s intended. This is how many 20-somethings party, the toxicity doesn’t seem unbelievable. Though it seems like a superficial drama, there are many real character developments for everyone, and not all same.
It was my first FirstKhao show and I GET IT. I GET WHY THEIR “IT”. They have the most sizzling but cutest chemistry, they were my endgame.

Cute for what it is

I found this drama from edits online, which were just the cutest so I was excited to watch it. And it definitely delivered on the chemistry of the main leads. Of course the trope of high school classmates/first loves meeting again is over done, but they made it fun to watch. Even their fake/contract relationship came about okay.

Just from watching the show you can see they didn’t have a big budget, but that shouldn’t hinder from writing a good story. It felt like all the scenes was just to move the plot forward without much substance. It felt choppy and rushed. Even them suddenly getting married without ever really dating and didn’t even properly date AFTER they got married felt so weird. The actors definitely had the chemistry to make some magic from a badly paced script. The ending does make me forget the bad parts, that kid actor was so so loveable! + love the greenest flag but naughty scheming ML.

Hope we get to see the main leads in a better written drama in the future.
