What i liked:
- LMSY acting was phenomenal, between the romantic chemistry and the friendly banter they impersonated what a friendship to lovers story should be about. The fact that they are both beautiful didn't hurt ;).
- The OST was wonderful, it matched perfectly with the story and i liked how interwoven it was in the story
- The cinematography was done beautifully
- Episodes 4,5 and 6
- I really enjoyed Earth's character and actor, not only it showed how you could handle rejection appropriately but that you can have a relationship after being rejected.
What i felt neutral about:
- As i said before i loved the OST, but i felt it was overused and i think that having another song would have made the hole viewing experience much better.
- The story as a hole was a little iffy. I felt Pleng lacked motive as a character and Wan was very controlling. Also the resolution for the almost sibling situation was rough, Pleng was about to leave Wan's apartment when she read the letter the later left her, so why did she then said that it did not matter?
- Episodes 1,2 and 3
What i disliked:
- Ek's actor. I am really sorry, but not only was he overused, every time he appeared on camera i felt i was watching a high school production, he took me right out of the story.
- The loud background music that in some scenes distracted from what was happening and made it hard to listen to what was going on.
- Episodes 7 and 8 (Did Frank and Earth really need any more screen time? Did they really need to redeemed the cheating, gun wielding husband? Did he need a love story? Couldn't they have used this time to flush out a little bit more Wan-Pleng relationship (mainly when they were in a happy place?) )
Rewatch value:
I would rewatch the first 6 episodes and then the last 5 minutes of part 4 of episode 8 to give a closure to the story, the rest, no.
Final thoughts:
Truth is i would rate it at an actual 7.5/8 considering the hole series, i really disliked how the story was handled in the last 2 episodes but LMSY gave such a heartfelt performance i couldn't bring myself to rate it any lower.
