An Underrated Must Watch

With all the dramas that “Flex X Cop” was airing alongside, I’ve seen this get the least amount of traction online. However, after finishing the drama, I can say that even with the simplest premise, the drama overdelivers in all the right aspects. Although I cannot comment on the original Russian drama, i.e. “Silver Spoon”, it’s adapted from, here are my views on FXC:
1. Plot (9.5/10)- Seemingly very simple but containing multiple layers to it. I found that I could very well guess most of the “killers” in the drama and yet, it did not interfere with my experience of it. The series only built up my excitement for the coming scenes as I enjoyed a very expressive performance from the cast.
2. Cinematography (9/10)- With excellent wide, mid and close shots, the dramas also switches from a few different views to provide the sense of urgency and detail orientation that these cases, as mentioned in the drama, require.
3. Acting (10/10)- With a cast of wonderful actors and actresses who can capture your attention, physically and emotionally, the drama manages to keep the viewers engaged and hyped.

The Beauty of “Flex X Cop”: Well, the beauty of FXC lies not on the surface but the portrayal of one finding their own path and forming a community, a family. What stuck with me the most is that despite having started on the wrong foot, our ragtag team of police officers ended up testing each others’ limits and turning out to support each other.

If You Like That, Watch This: If you enjoyed having to uncover the complicated familial bonds in “He is Psychometric”, the varied kinds of cases that the teams deals with in “Taxi Driver” and the trilling fights and puzzles in “Big Mouth”, you’re sure to enjoy this drama.
Also, for the ones who’ve watched FXC but have missed out any of the ones I mentioned above, be sure to give them a go. I’m sure you’ll find them engaging and exciting.

One Where Amnesia is the Main Character

With all the Korean movies floating around on the internet, this one was a hilarious ride to be on. Relying heavyly on the comedy aspect, this romCOMEDY would have you laughing out loud at multiple scenes while also, looking forward as the couple approaches the (D-)Divorce Day. Here's an overview of my thoughts:
1. Plot (7/10)- A kind of generic plot and yet, executed in a manner that leaves you laughing and taking screen recordings?? Yup, this one's got the memo. Perfect for a guilty pleasure watch, this movie would have you recommending it to your friends as well.
2. Cinematography (7.5/10)- With a beam of colourful backgrounds, the movie flashes back and forth through timelines to cast the viewers on the updates of the couple's lives.
3. Music (8.5/10)- The songs flashing throughout the movie were wonderfully recorded and executed, with some making the viewers giggle while the others evoking a sense of romance.

Most Memorable Scenes: With having just completed the movie, here are my top three most memorable scenes from the movie:
1. The (most HILARIOUS) accident that inevitably leads to the amnesia wherein the couple loose their memories of each other (as well as all the people around them).
2. The confession made by the male lead towards the end of the movie (but oh wait, the female lead didn't hear anything though because she was waring noise cancelling earbuds).
3. Their first date as a couple who have now lost their memories.

The Beauty of “Love Reset”: Well, the beauty of "Love Reset" lies in it's portrayal of how we should not let the bad memories overpower the happy ones. The movie shows how, sometimes, giving something a second chance can also turn out to be beautiful.

You'll Enjoy This If...: If you enjoy movies that have a sense of lightheartedness and would be perfect for a romCOMEDY watch-party with your friends, "Love Reset" has got your back!

An Orangey, Sweet Surprise

Quoting a scene from the series, “Knowing you was just like being at home. It was very warming”, the drama was as warming as the lines imply. With sequences portraying the main characters’ childhood friendship as well as their adventures as an adult, the drama captures the warmth, fears and overwhelming feelings that growing up brings. Talking particulars, here are my thoughts on “DNA Says Love You”:
1. Plot (9.5/10)- Dealing with multiple themes, the drama explores queerness in a varied aspect without seemingly overwhelming the viewers. Exploring their identities, the characters manage to carry the viewers through their thought process, providing for an inclusive and understanding experience.
2. Cinematography (9/10)- The drama utilises a warm colour grading and varied filming techniques to provide a calm and intimate experience. They manage to induce a tone of lightheartedness all while emphasising the gravity of the situation the characters go through.
3. Acting (9/10)- Every actor in the series, especially our male leads, manage to pull the viewers through emotions of laughter as well as sadness and all the in-betweens seamlessly. A highlight of the series would be their captivating acting.

The Beauty of “DNA Says Love You”: Well, the beauty of the series lies in the portrayal of a strong familial bond, DNA related or otherwise. The drama captures what it means to truly stand by someone despite what others might think of it. What stuck with me the most is that despite having lost communication, all the characters come together as one by the end, with a bond stronger than ever.

You’ll Enjoy This If…: If you are looking for a series that explores multiple LGBTQ+ identities with care, this would be a wonder to watch.

As Sweet As a Tiramisu Cake

With melodic renditions of songs that captivate all the fluffy, cringy, messy and romantics of “To. Jenny”, the special has a simple, albeit cliché, plot-line that pairs well with its short runtime. A short dose of dopamine, the special is a perfect watch for ones even with not a lot of time to spend. Here’s an overview of my thoughts:
1. Plot (9/10)- Cliché but it pairs well on a sick day; a dose as sweet as a tiramisu cake. The writing makes it so that even with only two episodes, one comes to root for the characters, not only romantically but also, professionally. The music really helps build the charm that the story needed, otherwise.
2. Acting (10/10)- A cast of wonderful actors and actresses that portray emotions not only through words and phrases but also, with renditions of songs that one can sing-along to.
3. Music (10/10)- Music isn’t something playing in the background but one of the main characters of the special; its integration is a foundation to it.

The Beauty of “To. Jenny”: Well, the beauty of “To. Jenny” lies in its portrayal of how with enough faith and hardwork, even with setbacks, in life, one can, and should, strive to achieve their dreams
because someday, they just might come true.

You’ll Enjoy This If…: : If you enjoy singing along to OSTs such as of “Our Beloved Summer” and “Lovely Runner”, and rooting for hopeless romantics, “To. Jenny” would a perfect watch.

With a slice of tiramisu cake, binge-watch the special on a gloomy day to experience a feeling as sweet as the dessert itself.
