Solid acting, too many plot lines

Positives:
Solid acting across the entire cast. I admit I only watched this movie because of Perth, but I'm pleasantly surprised by the cast too. Bas was really emotive in this movie (which shocked me cos I didnt enjoy his performance in 2moons and Gen Y. The supporting actors were great as well, especially the actor who plays Tai. My heart broke for him.

Despite the title, I don't think it's a BL movie. However, you can sort of feel there's something between Kheng (Bad) and Boang (Perth) that's not explicitly shown. I like their onscreen chemistry.

Con:
There are too many things happening in this movie to the point that it got pretty absurd. If they only focused on the main issue, I'd enjoy it more.

A lot of the issues were also conveniently resolved, which makes it quite unrealistic.

Trigger warnings: lots of assaults, drug dealings and school bullying.

Funny, Sweet, Adorable

This show is very light and fluffy, with plenty of genuinely hilarious moments. Personally, the diverse yet lovable characters are what made Kieta Hatuskoi one of the best BL dramas in recent years.

1. Aoki is a spazzy character with a BIG heart
2. Ida is the cool and popular guy in class but with ZERO toxic masculinity
3. Hashimoto is the sweetest yet most badass female character ever!
4. Akkun is a funny but supportive good friend for both Aoki and Ida
5. Even Ida's volleyball teammates are great! The last episode had me pleasantly surprised :)

If you loved last year's Cherry Magic, you're gonna love Kieta Hatsukoi too.

Watchable for Nanon's performance

Listen, I'm a huge fan of Thai horror films, so I went in with pretty high expectations. Overall, it's a watchable film but honestly nothing could beat Shutter in terms of delivering scary moments. It didn't help that both films use cameras to drive the plot. There were a few jump scares in SLR, but it didn't give me the lingering creepiness that Shutter did (seriously, the climax and reveal gave me nightmares for weeks!)

All the actors performed to my expectations, especially Nanon. Sadly the story itself is pretty weak. I hope he'll have a better script in the future.
