Well... for people who haven't seen GTO anime or read manga this drama might look great... and it isn't bad on its own. Especially main character ^^ This dude suits role of Onizuka perfectly. However absence of Urumi Kanzaki and Naoko Moritaka is unforgivable! Especially Kanzaki she was important piece of GTO. While I was watching this drama I couldn't wait to see here in next episode... or next...or next... but she never appeared ;/ So after you watch GTO(1998) I definetlay recommend you to watch anime.
