I really like this noir film. I'm not a fan of either of the main leads so I'm going to be unbiased but I thought they both did a pretty solid job as far as acting was concerned. Both roles seemed to have been made for them. I liked Jong Dae's inherent innocence that Yong ki completely lacks. Their characters are in similar circumstances but they both have different ways of dealing with the situation. Where the younger Jong Dae ends up living a rather destitute life because he continues to stay loyal to his gang boss who isn't in the business anymore and runs a laundry business to provide for his daughter and Jong Dae who he considers a son. On the other hand Yong ki ends up becoming the henchman to a very dangerous man and is constantly looking for ways to screw people over for his benefit. It's this difference in their personalities that really makes this movie so interesting because you can sense that despite everything they do love each other. But when the two of them start a gang war so they can get out of their misery, things don't go as planned. I personally liked the slow pacing it made the violence more intense and emotions more heightened. You feel everything... every stab, every tear, every single time they get hurt or hurt someone else you feel it. I absolutely think it was the perfect ending.
