At the same time I think IU played her character with a kind of innate innocence which never comes across as childish but merely naive especially considering the time period she's in. I think she beautifully portrayed the emotions of her character, whether it was happy or sad or heartbroken. I honestly fell in love with her in this drama.
Lee Joongi ok again another actor who is so talented at portraying a range of emotion and seriously Hanuel is my favorite no doubt but the second Lee Joongi steps in you feel his presence it completely takes over every single scene. And I honestly started rooting for them the second he stepped in and I was put through hell.
Hanuel ok because he played the character with such nuance I was able to despise him lol that's a good thing! And I truly love the way he showed the conflict in his character and made it come alive.
Special mentions to Park Ji Yong for playing her character so damn well and giving us a villainess worth hating and same for Kang Han na who played Yeon Hwa and truly made her character come to life.
Ji Soo and Nam Joo hyuk did great as the supporting cast I absolutely loved their antics and their bromance with each other and with the other princes was so amazing it became heartbreaking.
Another two members of the cast who also made the drama what it is and gave you everything from comic relief to sheer tragedy was Baekhyun and his character prince Eun and his romance with Z hera as Soon deuk! Omg I watched their adorable back and forth again and again.
And I know a lot of people go "idols can't act" and that's such a moronic thing to say as though acting is some kind of special club that you have to take membership in order to act lol like wtf does anyone's job description have to do with their acting skills? Would you tell a library assistant she can't draw? Like ok that is the most elitist bs ever! And I know a lot of people are art elitists but I don't support them because I'm not a douche.
So idols can act and should act and they shouldn't care about a bunch of elitist pricks.
Anyway so yes Baekhyun's role in the beginning was comic relief and rather easy but gets so much more complicated later because of the way the plot progresses. And wow he delivers.
So, am amazing drama about good and evil and insane kind of love.

I'm so in love with Knock and Korn lol it's not even funny. But ok lets be honest, Bad Romance has plenty of faults and yes the whole series has plenty of inconsistencies but that's what happens when you make a single season and then start writing another one that wasn't planned. Everything changes naturally. For instance the actors are younger in Bad Romance and older in Together With Me which is a past story, but you know what that's why it's called suspension of disbelief. My advice is, of you want something fun that you don't have to take seriously watch it. If you want to experience and explore Knock and Korn's world then watch this because some of the moments just wow.
Right, so on to the review.
First off, this isn't Bad Romance it's TERRIBLE romance lol
The two main couples Yihwah and Cho and Knock and Korn are never properly without problems. One couple the girl Yiwah believes that not only is Cho the main love interest, gay but also trying to get her bestie Korns boyfriend Knock to sleep with him. The second main couple, Knock tries to make his boyfriend Korn jealous by hanging out with Cho and pretending to flirt with him. But it gets out of hand when Cho falls for Yiwah and tries to convince her he likes her but Yiwah believes Cho is gay and decides to stalk Cho and Knock to find evidence of Cho being gay with hilarious consequences.
The main lead Yihwa and her love interest Cho they made it so entertaining and also the rest of the supporting cast! Be, Dewey, Martin, Tanguy. Not going to lie the guys Knock constantly kept hanging around ugh they pissed me off lol all except Cho.
But I think that was the point of the show. To show rather dysfunctional relationships in a rom com setting.
But seriously the supporting cast especially the couples were all gorgeous too. But my favorite (aside from Knock and Korn naturally lol) was definitely Cho and Yihwah. From the first moment they meet to the end they're constantly battling.
And same goes for Knock and Korn. I know Knock was just trying to make Korn care for him in the beginning by flirting with Cho but then it escalated and suddenly everything is a total mess!
Seriously gave me anxiety lol especially when that jerk Chinook came in I was cringing so bad. But minor spoiler *when Knock and Korn have that fist fight in the second to last episode lol sorry but it was epic*
But seriously though it's a fun entertaining show with a badass heroine who doesn't wait for some Prince to solve her problems. Yiwah is loyal, extremely arrogant and entitled but in a cute way. Cho is the guy who gets mistaken for a heartless playboy type but turns out to be a really sentimental and caring guy.
Knock appears to be someone who is flirtatious and uncaring but inside he's a total mess and ends up regretting his own mistakes and truly loves Korn but has a hard time saying it because of his own insecurities.
Korn appears to be a people pleaser type everyone likes who looks like he has his shit together but in truth not having Knock is driving him crazy.
It's always entertaining always fun!

Then, I didn't know who the protagonist even is, is it the Golden Time Team leader woman? Or Jang Hyuk? His partner Baek Sung hyun gets severely injured and he's just going about doing other things. WTF? The characters interactions with each other is strictly business so what the hell am I supposed to root for? The son who I barely saw in maybe two episodes, tops? Who also btw they conveniently forget unless they want to use him for a plot line. I enjoyed the little mysteries constantly coming up, that was pretty much the only enjoyable thing because the main story arc was ruined by two main leads who had zero relatability. They just went about solving the plot lines, no deep actual conversation, no insights into their psyche, their needs wants, nothing except for 'that bad thing that happened in the past.' It just started to drag and became pointless after a while. Let's say leave the fact that the main leads don't feel any emotions for anyone period ???? (call me hyung or unni and I'll care for you BARELY for the length of an episode WTF ????) no relationship building over time, it doesn't have to be a romance, can't they just still care for SOMEONE???? It was all just a surface, shallow, story until then.
They put so much emphasis on making everything look good, they forgot to add substance to the script. Even the mystery plot got affected by the fact that the SECOND the ACTUAL villain appears, you know it's them ???????????????????? literally, where was the suspense? The person appears in way too late in the story! I've seen romantic comedies with better mystery plots (Do Bong Soon for instance). See, if you don't want to have romances and bromances, then make the main story arc something epic and subtle like Fargo. There was nothing subtle about Jang Hyuk's acting or anyone else for that matter! It was the typical "who screams louder" Korean drama fest so just make it Korean drama good then! The script was again, just okay.
Bad Guys at least had a fabulous script and epic bromance but Vile City had the same kind of issues VOICE has. All glitter and glamor but zero substance. I did cry a bunch of times, mostly for the secondary characters, like Yesung, when they show the stories and solve that was done brilliantly. Honestly, I was considering ditching it when Kim Jae wook showed up! !!! In love with him ???? even his acting was subtle and not loud, just wow. Honestly, I wouldn't have actually finished it if it wasn't for him. Btw, this show is really disturbing but that was the one thing I actually liked! They were not afraid to get their hands dirty. But having a script where at one point Jang Hyuk says to his nine year old son "Men should always be brave" when he's crying after being traumatized, made me question what year this show was made in ???? so yeah. Some really good stuff but an overwhelming amount of pointlessness and by the middle I was honestly cringing every time Jang Hyuk went on one of his stupid and pointless and terribly delivered tirades mostly "I'll rip you apart blah blah" and the female lead wasn't much better. The secondary characters were acting so much better.
The things that I fell in love with: The messed up darkness, visually it's shot so well aesthetically pleasing, the OST, and of course Jae wook! Even the story started getting more addictive after Birth of the Devil. But I have to admit, the final two episodes, sheer BRILLIANCE. I was completely speechless. Even the main leads annoying habits couldn't destroy that, so I basically went from a ten rating in the beginning, to a six in the middle, to an eight when Jae wook enters, to a straight ten for the last two episodes! So, I'm going to rate an overall 9 because in the end, this show gave me a lot more than it annoyed me and because Jae wook deserved it and whoever decided to make it so dark and messed up deserves it.

Okay so Tol and Tin are now on my top couples list lol Ah so the storyline and writing in general was so good but you know me, I'm a sucker for angst and bishounen/ikemen torture aka whump ;) and obviously this show was in the first half about a ten and then in the end there was angst and torture back personally felt like it was less tame that's one reason Im not rating 10.
The second reason I'm not rating 10 like I did for Manner of Death (Max and Tul OBVIOUSLY) But seriously though I felt like MOD has a much more satisfying ending.
Also I was basically screaming at the Tan Bun cameo and then that ending made me feel like there's more spin offs in the future and I'm all for it.
But seriously MOD had that ending which was all " Tengan me bro " lol as compared to the kiss by the watch building and also I mean you can't beat Max Tul skin ship I'm not even going to pretend like I didn't die when Tan handcuffed Bun to the stairs ffs lol
Anyway... Back to Triage - it's a damn good bl though and even the secondary couple was so adorable!! Just like in MOD where basically it feels like Tan Bun have adopted two kids lmfao but here tbh they never actually got down to doing anything actual, but still they were such a cute ass bickering couple!
Anyway that concludes my review! Watch it you guys!

That ending was really poetic. I loved the show it's got one of the most interesting anti hero fl and I just fell for Ploy so hard ! She can act, she's just beautiful a total charmer.
SHE ROCKED THOSE PANTSUITS but also portraying a desperate, shallow, ballsy woman just so convincing.
And omg in that last scene in the wedding dress she looked so breathtaking it just broke me.
It would have been an easy 10 as far as lakorn/makjang goes, but where it failed for me personally - I'm sorry but the male lead just didn't work for me. The guy couldn't act, couldn't even show a good personality ffs it pissed me off every time he was on screen.
They HAD LANG SITTHA in the cast bro should have just given him this role cause the doctor / psychiatrist was the main male lead, but like I don't know was Lang gonna charge too much or there was a casting couch because why else would you take him in the leading role.
Basically Lang's character was so random, so pointless to the story, and yet because the doctor guy was such a disappointment I desperately waited for Reya and Paramet first, btw you could have taken that guy for this role! Nut was a good actor, and handsome!
Ugh the guy who played David wasn't great either but the thing is his role wasn't integral enough to be an issue so that didn't bug me much.
But honestly even without the male leads, the story was good and meaningful.
It was bugging me when I felt like the writers were judging her character just like the other characters calling her tramp, whore, just because she's not a virgin but the ending I feel like it was basically showing how awful people are to women who stand different and how this creates a cycle of grief and violence.
But man letting that old wench Chinese mom lol sorry I'm still a little pissed at her because not only does she survive but the people around her were like oh sure mom tried to ruin lives and covered heinous acts but she's family so whatreyou gonna do right?
And then there were also a ton of problems with the doctor guy ugh but anyway it's still something good if you like makjang melodrama lakorn and anti hero stories.

I just want to prefix this by saying Shuhei is beautiful and the only reason I sat through this. So, here's the thing. Started out as a nice dark humor and the kind of bromance that is way more than brotherhood, honestly it seemed like just my kind of thing especially because one of the guys was a yakuza who runs over Shuhei and they end up developing a friendship. It was adorable and so was Shuhei's character. And honestly when he says he's into the female driving instructor I was even on board with that. Because it felt like he was still trying to discover himself and when he realized he was immature and petty about her having a kid he will work on himself, that's his arc, like I said, it had that potential. And then Shuhei was having this bonding with the yakuza guy who was also with him in school, and the yakuza guy hates his job and wants to run away.
And Shuhei is rather obvious about not having any feelings for his actual gf and he breaks up with her and he comes from an abusive household and runs away to be with yakuza guy. And then there was a scene with the yakuza guy, where they show his real fantasy is to blow up the yakuza bosses and be with Shuhei's character.
So you think okay so what happens now! Like what deep, thoughtful message will they leave us with?
You know what 'message' they left us with?
You can love a man or a great nice girl who is divorced and has a kid, but when summer ends go back to your abusive parents and settle in with the younger virgin girl that you have no feelings for and who knows that you're using her but lets you do it because MADE UP RIDICULOUS SOCIETAL CONSTRAINTS THATS WHY. How progressive. How thoughtful. Freaking genius sir! Where's that standing ovation ffs lol ugh
I'm going to need something REALLY GOOD to get rid of the bad taste

- MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD - The plot of Kamen Rider Build according to my brain - alien being goes around impregnating everyone from Banjo's mom to Rogue's cyborg ex Utsumi until alien forces Rogue's other ex aka Sento/Katsuragi and his new bf Banjo to open a wormhole and collapse two realities, so the one where the alien being impregnated Rogue's THIRD EX aka Stalk aka Faustian Devil(I know man Rogue gets around for sure lol), that reality doesn't exist anymore. Another reason why BUILD is so awesome ? Banjo and Sento END UP TOGETHER OKAY. One of my top fave Kamen Rider series for sure XD but seriously I'm just leaving reviews for KR series so just thought I'd post a funny one and if I haven't scarred you for life lol have a good one ;)oh and if you like convoluted stuff and got a lady boner or just a boner for anti heroes I highly suggest the spin off ROGUE. And okay I know I haven't talked about Grease Kazumi much because his character is actually the least convoluted lol but I feel like his on again off again relationships with both Rogue and Banjo just made me scream like give this man a full time lover lol he deserves it ffs and no that last minute you're dying so I'll back hug you from Misora just wasn't good enough because that man deserved the world okay. He lost his brothers who were his only family and they died in his arms when neither of them had done anything wrong. They were all just victims of Faust's experiments and the second Grease received even the tiniest bit of love from Misora, Sento and especially Banjo, he was willing to die for them. He was such a beautiful person he never even judged Rogue and even understood how Utsumi who had to become a cyborg, felt when Rogue shot him after things started unraveling in Faust and you can tell Rogue is messed up over it too. When he says 'I broke Utsumi' you can feel his pain. He wanted to turn back time, fix his mistakes, but he knew it doesn't work that way that he's lost Utsumi forever. That's why he goes on that suicide mission with Grease. Haha so that concludes it. Be prepared for a ton of angst and sadness and eccentric humor all in one.

And I'm not ashamed to admit I have been in love with Rogue! Everything about him that near perfect facial hair, gorgeous long hair, just beautiful and a total hunk. So naturally I was obsessed with him and I was afraid this spin off might be disappointing or put me off one of my faves but no! ROGUE was excellent in every way! It's dark, brutal, downright gory! Just loved this look into what really went down behind the scenes with him starting from how Faust was actually his deal with the devil to the time he becomes a souped up Kamen Rider again.

And I was laughing my ass off at the whole thing but the most hilarious bits were definitely Suda's homeless man character seriously he gave me the best laughs! Especially when he goes 'that's why you're number 1" lol and when he throws Kento off the bed XD omg in fact every time Kento gets thrown or rolled off the bed made me snort
But honestly the writing is on point, the performances on point, the direction on point. And even though if you're looking for a typical romantic drama happy ending you won't get it here.
This drama at the core is about fighting your demons and how something small can lead to big consequences for someone else and ruin their life. And how actions taken in greed will never have positive outcomes.
The drama deals with someone who was sincere but ends up becoming cruel and cold because a traumatic past can sometimes give you a false sense of security in being alone and not allowing yourself to love.
The story revolves around this person struggling and stumbling and constantly trying to fix things in the past.
Anyway, very good writing, just loved it.
