I can't believe I waited so long to drop this series. There are SO MANY PROBLEMS. In fact the entire premise of the drama is incredibly problematic: a psychologist conducts an experiment on a woman, manipulating her emotions and lying to her, with the end goal to make her fall in love and the yank the rug out from under her. The main male character continuously lies to her, and we get his inner monologue so you know he knows he's leading her astray, making her doubt things she saw with her own eyes and information she knows to be true. The casual portrayal of gaslighting and psychological relationship abuse is deeply problematic. Not to mention that his experiment is completely unethical (that he would be a participant) and the design is preposterous. I'm not saying this kind of experiment could ever be well designed, but with a few tweaks it could be less absurdly stupid. Not only that, but in the end she has to save him! He is the abuser! There is no world in which his conduct is excusable.
Initially I expected this to be a fun drama about two people who try and help people, one with therapy and with fake fortune telling. Her fortune telling is dropped almost instantly! There are a lot of similarities in those professions and I think playing with that tension could have made for an excellent opposites attract plot. I have no idea why they would stray into such asinine and upsetting territory instead of using the rich weird characters they created.
