HAD SO MUCH POTENTIAL.

Like the majority of watchers, i was also intrigued by the trailer. With a promising storyline and everything that i love in a drama -thriller, mystery, psychological... it had so much potential but unfortunately just fell short for me.

THE GOOD.

- the FL was alright, the representation of Aspergers syndrome was interesting to see. Kim young Kwang is amazing as always. His portrayal of a psycho was scarily good.

- the cinematography, acting and overall production was incredible- it was something that kept me watching.

THE BAD

- The pacing was abit off. The first 2 episodes were great- the establishment of the main leads were solid and the interesting plot was set into motion. But as the episodes continued, the storyline became somewhat slow and incoherent, with unnecessary plots line and filler episodes (ep 6). Then as the series came to an end, it begins to escalate- with the serial killer receiving weird calls from his past victims and him finally feeling threatened, for him to then be killed?

- I wish they delved further into the serial killers background. We get a VERY brief insight into his past; he had a mother who apparently abandoned him. We also see how his first murder was accidental but then what!? TELL ME MORE. Did he not have any friends /family? How did he get that scar? how did he target his victims? and how did he easily get away with it??

- most characters lacked any depth. what was the point of the boss lady please.

- The police character was infuriately STUPID. You first decided to meet an unknown guy at a far away secluded location, find out he lied about his disability and slept with him, for him to then abandon you after disposing your wheelchair- yet you decide to meet him again? i don't understand how she didn't use the police facilities to identify the guy? the wheelchair friend had the potential to be a badass character, but ended up being a disappointment. why he didn't kill her is truly a mystery to me?

- LETS TALK ABOUT EPISODE 6. This ep must've solely been made to annoy the hell out of viewers. At this point she's aware of his psycho nature but she decides to meet him again for revenge with nothing but her wheelchair and half a brain. atleast take some backup smh. ALSO why/how do pedestrians have easy access to demolition sites?

- the police were useless as usual.

- was the extreme nudity and sex scene necessary? i'm not a prude, but they didn't really add anything to the story.

- The main leads apparently fall in love. but there was no build up to that. They met rarely and briefly, for them to suddenly be madly in love?? We get to see the 'human' side of the serial killer in the final episode. He starts to show ¿remorse? for his actions. the complete 180 of his character was too sudden and uneventful.

Overall, the story was very promising. has great momentum in the beginning, to come to a halt towards the end. The ending was just right for me, but with the weird pacing it was rather anti-climatic.

This drama had so much potential!
(i'll keep this brief)

After discovering that is was based on Dangerous Liaisons, I was intrigued and rather excited- maybe FINALLY we'll have a drama that strayed away from the usual cliches and kdrama tropes, and instead explored the darkness, manipulations etc. but unfortunately we didn't get to see much of that.

Everything was confusing, why would you introduce so many characters, without completing their character arcs? characters disappear and then reappear throughout the entire drama whilst there actually wasn't any need. What was the point of some of these characters? Eun tae hee's best friend could've had a bigger role in this, there was a lack of support and friendship, why was tae hee suffering alone for the most part. WHERE WAS SHE?? Her one-sided crush on se joo was half hearted, it lacked seriousness and impact, and overall added nothing to the storyline or her character development.

Which reminds me, we didn't need multiple storylines. The drama with JK Group (whatever it was) it was so long and boring that I cannot even recall what happens- it added nothing to the story. The girl Eun tae hee was tutoring (forgot her name), -again, it added nothing to the story. in my opinion, the drama would've done well without all this.

In terms of acting, it wasn't THAT bad, Joy did ok- maybe not lead role material. Her facial expressions can do a bit of work, but i'm sure she'll improve. The other leads did amazing- I can't really complain

Overall, i think this drama just succumbed to bad direction and a bad script. Would i watch it again? nope. except maybe some of the cute scenes. :)

Messy but enjoyable.

In all honesty, the first season was definitely much better than this season. Season 2 was annoyingly full of wallowing, and miscommunication. Everything would've been sorted IF THEY JUST TALKED. Nothing was being said, Jojo was still indecisive and confused, and couldn't get a word out without being interrupted. smh nothing has really changed for her since the first season.

I don't really get what warrants this drama to receive its excessively low ratings - perhaps people didn't like the fact that Son-Oh didn't get the girl? I'm glad he didn't. I read a lot of reviews before writing mine, and seems like i'm in the minority in liking who she ended up with. It was REALLY evident who she loved from the very beginning. We can see how JJ looked at Hye young, the way she missed him and the way she always thought of him whenever anything happened etc- THE SIGNS WERE ALL THERE. Seeing Jojo come to realisation with this was quite satisfying and godamn was I really happy. HY is a total angel from beginning till end.

Ok now Sun Oh, I can't be the only one that found him slightly annoying right? People saying Jojo played with his feelings and strung him along. No, not really imo, she broke up with him 4 years ago. He latched onto this girl for 4 years, demanding an explanation at every chance he would get, whilst stringing ANOTHER girl along. like COME ONNN. I admit he deserved an explanation, (again, lack of communication) but being pushy and rude for 4 years, just coz you're bitter you didn't get jojo?? Poor boy was crying and wallowing for jojo for 4 years straight until the last 10 mins where he's suddenly ok - lol the writers did him dirty.

i know many people really wanted SO to end up with JJ, but i don't think that should be the reason why this season is so disliked. I admit, it was slow at times and really annoying but the maturity in this season was refreshing and realistic. All characters had their flaws- but that's life. You won't always be sure of what you want, feelings change, you get confused and sometimes you need reassurance- AND THAT'S OK. you live and you learn. You learn to trust yourself.

ps. what's actually messy is this review lol

pps. i'm glad the love alarm app doesn't exist in real life.

I’m annoyed

It was a thrilling movie, but I’ve simply watched the entire film feeling frustrated. I was annoyed at everything from the FL to the side characters.

Points that annoyed the hell out of me:
- EVERYONE IS SO STUPID.
I’m sure this movie wanted to display the insensitivity of society when it came to disabilities- However surely people can’t be that STUPID right?? the girl is hurt and afraid, with a man covered in blood pursuing her- but since she’s deaf and cannot talk properly, therefore, it means she’s just crazy right? Smh
- WHY DOESN'T ANYONE HELP HER. I hate how they undermine her and her mother simply because she's handicapped. Everything she seems to say is invalidated and she doesn't seem to push her points across. Her mother senses that there's something wrong but just seems to ignore it
- EVERYONE IS EASILY FOOLED. Anyone can say that they're my brother and people will believe it. 🤷🏻‍♀️
- THE MOTHER COULD'VE ENDED IT ALL. The mother had a chance to end it all at the police station of she simply thought. She could've made a sound, chuck the contents of his bag onto the floor etc how can he kill them all in the police station.
- You’re telling me, she can’t sense when someone is directly behind her?? Deaf or not deaf, everyone has that sense when someone is practically breathing down their neck.
- stupid thought. BUT DONT CARS STOP WHEN THERES PEOPLE JUMPING ONTO THE ROAD?? Don’t Korean cars have a breaking system?

The actor who played the physcopath was scarily good. He was just fun to watch.

I apologise if this ‘review’ doesn’t make any sense. I'm too irritated to properly get my feeling across.

Ps. If you want to watch a good film with a similar premise, pls watch HUSH.

Just save yourself and don't watch this.

oh gosh, where to start.

Like the majority i was also really looking forward to this drama and boyyy was i disappointing. i was in no way comparing this to the prequel, it was just objectively a really bad drama.

- In my opinion the whole premise had great potential- who doesn’t like strong female leads! But even from the first episode i was side-eyeing the entire time, nothing made sense. For e.g. Namsoon initially getting lost in Mongolia was stupid anyway- but her rich family’s inability to find her was even more ridiculous. Having all that money and resources to be able to find someone anywhere, and they decide to hold a strength competition¿? within KOREA when your child went missing in MONGOLIA. how would a literal CHILD make her own way back to korea??

- though the first few episodes were silly it was still enjoyable, but as it went on it was just ridiculous and the humour seemed very exaggerated to a point it got me skipping most scenes.

- the plot in itself felt like there was too much going on. The writer could've done something profound and hard hitting with the drug storyline but it just turned out to be lacklustre and lame. There so many subplots that it actually took away from the interesting ones. and then more characters were added without any backstory or any real purpose other than highlighting certain plot points.

- Namsoon lacked the charm the writers intended for her to have, there was no use for her to be ‘childish’ considering she still had a good upbringing and had been around civilisation. Her initial lack of formalities was confusing considering she did spend her childhood in korea.

- unnecessary side characters i.e the homeless couple. What did they even bring to the story. I even thought the dad and brother were useless- i wish they gave the brother some sort of strength and substance. ANY sort of use tbh.

- min min couple were the saving point lol

- Even though i saw the charm of Ryu Sio, and i admit i had high hopes for him, but even his character was poorly written. Lets be honest, he was a sh*t villain, seriously how can you be so dumb to let his girl anywhere near you and your secrets? however he was just the best of the bunch, the only character that had some depth and a background story which made viewers like the guy, knowing damn well that he’s a murderous pyschopath. And even after his death they still added some MORE backstory. What do we now do with this info??

- gave all that character development to Ryu Sio to then have him kill himself in the first 20 mins of the episode and then have the other characters continue on with their day like nothing had happened. There was no real closure for his character.

- Heesik was just…THERE. lol ok he’s a cop and he's inherently good, he had a brother that died. WHAT ELSE?? PLEASE TELL ME MORE. He’s one of the main characters but there was nothing interesting about him. just bland.

- no chemistry between the leads in my opinion, It was cute that they liked each other from the get go, but as the show went they had less scenes together to a point that their ‘love’ seemed random and unnatural at the end.

- why did the grandma and her lover need all that screen time. Unnecessary and unwanted.

- how did Namsoon’s mongolian mum pass airport security with a BOMB? is the security in korea that bad?

- The mothers acting was just too over the top. Billionaire and secret vigilante, who gets their hair and makeup done before any heroism can take place.

- the women in show apparently had some connection when great strength is taking place but couldn’t use that connection to find their lost daughter.

- how did Namsoon become a police office when she evidently lacks any knowledge of the law or any form of training for that matter.

there’s so many things that i found ridiculous whilst watching this that i can continue the list but let me finish here. It was implied that there might be sequel… PLEASE NO. just stop right here lol

Not as bad as they say! DO NOT LISTEN TO THEM

I'm actually very dumbfounded by the amount of low reviews on here. Though the show had its faults, i don't think the show warranted any 1/10 reviews. I would describe it as a perfect escapist drama, with no complicated storylines or characters- not much thought is required to watch this, something i personally appreciated. With loveable characters (HAN JI PYEONG), amazing cinematography and good storyline, you cannot go wrong. I would definitely recommend this.

However, there were times i was actually very much frustrated. With one entire episode dedicated to HAN JI PYEONG i was resolute that he'd be the main lead. He's charming, charismatic, smart, and self-less (i could go on), so imagine my dismay when he ends up as the second lead and given the short end of the stick - he certainly deserved better.

I know MANY viewers (including myself) wanted him to get the girl at end- and this is was probably what justified their 1* reviews, but after watching the finale, i've come to a realisation that HJP didn't truly love her. As you probably recall, he mentioned how he never searched for SDM in the 15 years of sending letters to each other, so after finally reuniting with her and granny, he was no longer alone. HJP was a somewhat hero to SDM, running to her aid anytime anything went wrong, he was finally wanted and needed and ¿maybe? latched onto that and confused it with love? In the finale, he understood that SDM can fight her own battles and he wasn't needed as a hero. And though he may not have gotten the girl at the end, he got a new family and friends, which is what he TRULY deserved.

If you're thinking of watching this drama, GO FOR IT. Don't let the bad reviews sway you. WATCH IT.

To sum it all up...

- About a boy who is bullied (in prison and out) and frequently get into fights, tends to get beaten up(quite a lot) but never fails to give up, to then win against his much stronger opponent. lol .
- first 3/4 of the film was just Cha woo sol training and fighting other inmates. When i finally found myself fully engrossed in the film, the story was nearly over.
- wasn't much depth to the side characters, so i couldn't connect or empathise with them.
- felt that the bully joining the gang was unnecessary?? don't know what it added to the story.
- ending was rushed and was quite unsatisfactory- made you question what on earth he learnt during his time in prison lol
- Wi ha Joon is charming as ever.

It may seem that i'm very critical of the film, but i can honestly say that i enjoyed it regardless. There isn't much substance to the plot, but it was a compelling watch- with an amazing cast, and great action scenes to keep you entertained throughout.

Satisfying ending...but...

Initially i was going to score this season a lower score- the ending was satisfying to a degree, but lacked that OOMPH factor for me. I wanted MORE. More vengeance, more gore. I felt what Yeon jin got at the end was too mild for my liking. BUT after much thought, i decided the ending was immaculate. The revenge was sophisticated, well thought out and ended with no blood on her hands. characters were dealt with accordingly in my opinion. Not every revenge story needs to end with death, and for characters like Yeonjin- death is too easy.

All actors played their role with no fault. cinematography was simple yet amazing. The writing style made you coming back for more.

Also, whoever casted the younger versions of the cast did amazing!

DIFFERENT BUT GOOD NONETHELESS

There was an evident difference in the latest season, from the cinematography, music, cgi/vfx and overall direction- and in my opinion thats what made season one so original and just so fun to watch. From the first episode of season 2, it just felt like watching a whole other drama - the charm of the first season wasn't entirely there. S1 had amazing cinematography and OST that added the hype and uniqueness to the project. The monsters were actual PEOPLE in suits and makeup and then altered with vfx whilst S2 was mainly cgi. Not to be dramatic but it felt like the art was gone lol. Season 2 just reminded me of a typical
military action thriller...

The second instalment seemed to go toward a different narrative as we're are no longer in the residential building, we get to meet new characters, some interesting and some... not so much. The crazy doctor and the little girl were the most compelling to the storyline and hopefully we will see more of them in the next season. We see a lot of military involvement and though they add a great perspective to this pandemic, it just got boring having them on my screen most of the time. There were also too many throwaway characters which i personally didn't care for, and instead wished they gave some more screen time to Hyun su (you know, the main character??) It would've been interesting to see his connection with the little girl and his overall struggle to survive in the world as monster who had very human emotions.

The the last few episode is where it seemed to pick up, i had no idea what was going on.. there's people that made into monsters is that how this pandemic started? What was the crazy doctors role in this?? There were a lot of unanswered questions which made me very excited for the S3

The original cast done amazing reprising their role and i cant wait to see more of them (as MAIN character hopefully)

ALSO the amount of bare booty's i've seen in episode 2.... i was flabbergasted.
